I don't make resolutions anymore since I never keep them. I just hope to keep moderating my food intake and keeping up with my exercise plan. There was a little time to do some fun things like embossing. Nothing like learning and practicing something new at the beginning of the year. I've done embossing in the past but only for a couple of pieces and not enough time to really learn. It seems I still have a lot of learning to do. tee hee.
Here's an embossing I did a few years back. It's called:
"COPPER WOMAN"

I forgot to take a picture of my UN-embossed foil. It's lightweight foil. The sheet size was 9 1/4 by 12", a little too big, so it was cut in half for the piece from the Internet that inspired me.
Internet piece-free I failed to draw on the foil what I was going to emboss, so lets just say it's very "rugged." Before adding any color. What can I say. Perhaps the next one will be better. Embossed a little more to bring out the faces, added some color and tie die cords for color, and stars were glued. This is the finished piece. I've titled it: Mother and Child The settings aren't working good on Blogger. It's getting harder to upload pictures and place them where you want Have a great day and now it's time to do things. |
Your embossings look great. Happy New Year, hugs Annette x

Happy new year to you too
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! I love your embossed metal pieces, Gloria. It's fun to start something new for the new year, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, I love the embossed piece. It is very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGreat embossing! Happy PPF, Valerie
ReplyDeleteMetal embossing is something I have never tried. Your copper woman is amazing. I sometimes go back to using the same materials I have used in the past with new results. Have a fun time with them. Hummmm wonder what metal on canvas would look like? I challenge you to try it Gloria!....maybe metal on a wood canvas for strength.
ReplyDeleteI really like your embossing, Gloria. I am interested now in trying this type of embossing (thin copper as opposed to paper) myself. Beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteLove your embossed projects Gloria. Happy PPF and 2014!
ReplyDeleteWow Gloria this is awesome. I can see the technique in this. I like this very much. Gives me some ideas. Thanks for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteWhen are you going to share how you make your tamales??? LOL
Nicole/Beadwright
That is very beautiful and artsy. Love it.
ReplyDeleteI have never tried embossing and am glad for the introduction. Happy New Year, Gloria. I look forward to many more creative sharing this year.

Hola mi Amiga,
ReplyDeleteLove your posts, as always. Your words couldn't have resounded louder for me. I too never make resolutions, just guarantees, but as of late, I haven't even done that. So through your own life, I too shall continue learning something new, plus, watching my food intake, making wise meal decisions (however, I just came from Leslie's blog and printed bunches of her naughty recipes...hee-hee) and the biggie, exercise. I was doing so well till my mom got sick in May, then I stopped doing it, when that was the time I really needed to do some work-outs. Starting tomorrow, I'm going back on the treadmill, my machine of choice...love it, and if I have an early morning appointment of some type, I'll just take a walk around the block, since I'll be dressed already....oh, that means Tues...have a doc's appointment.
Thank you for your wonderful and wise words, Gloria. Take care, God bless and many
Abrazos,
Georgina

wow Gloria the embossing is really beautiful. I love the texture.
ReplyDeleteSuper embossings! I love Copper Woman's dress. I just call my resolutions "intentions" to ease the pressure :) Happy New Year! Wishing you joy and creativity throughout 2014
ReplyDeleteOkay, let's try this again. I just posted a whole lengthy comment, only to have it disappear into thin air. Blogger!! (shaking my fist at it) LOL! So I wanted to say BEAUTIFUL embossing, Gloria! You have me adding embossing to my list of things I want to try out in 2014 now. I already have the tool for it. Got it years ago and never used it yet. It has tips for various other uses, too. Fun! Always a pleasure stopping by here. Thanks for your visits to me! Have a wonderful week and see you again at the other end of it! (This time I'm copying my comment, in case I lose it again. Lol!) XO
