XOXO Scrapbook Layout Using the February Color Kitz Bundle

Hey all!  Nicole here with another layout using the February Color Kitz Bundle.  Today I'm documenting a glowing pink morning I saw while sipping my tea.  It was so gorgeous I just had to take a snap.

The first thing that I did for this layout was to make the background.  I used all the colors that came in the kit to make this heart background.  You can watch how I made it here: https://youtu.be/GYiF6c1EVO0

I then decided to do some fussy cutting of hearts and flowers from some of the papers in the kit and add them to 3 different clusters around the page.

I used the die cuts from the kit as well around the page and the "XOXO" for my title.  I finished my page with journaling and some sequins from my stash.

Thanks for popping on to read about my layout.  I also have a process video that you can watch for this layout here: https://youtu.be/gJ1H-l8oOvM

Let's Go Girls | Shimmerz Paints February Color Kitz | Brandy Vaughn

Hello, friends! I'm back with another layout using the Shimmerz Paints February Color Kitz. This time I am also using the February cut file.

Once I had the idea to document our DT photo I got so excited that I completely forgot about the mixed media I had originally wanted on my background. I got started right away with cutting the cut file from one of the pieces of paper in the kit.

I decided since the cut file is a pair of sunglasses I would back it with silver foil to make them like mirrored lenses. Then I fussy cut the bow from the same piece of patterned paper and popped it up on the corner of the glasses.

The piece of ephemera that says "let's go girls" is the real inspiration behind this layout. I also pulled out other pieces to help fill out the main cluster.

I created a little cluster in the top left corner using more hearts and the word phrase stickers from the kit. Finally, I finished the layout by drawing my border around the edge of the page and adding some splatters with Color Splash in Cardinal Sin.

You can check out my process video on YT at the link below. Don't forget to add my name to your Shimmerz order for a free paint!

XOXO Scrapbooking Layout using the February Color Kitz Bundle

Hey all, Nicole here with my newest layout using the February Color Kitz Bundle!  I made the background in my unboxing video here: https://youtu.be/GYiF6c1EVO0

After my background was made with the paints I then matted the foundations paper onto the pink polka dot paper from the kit.

I then took the paper with the heart cherries and the heart suckers and fussy cut those out.  I then glued them down to my layout.

I embellished with little bits from the die cuts and then with the word sticker sheet.  I also used one of the dotz in the upper-right cluster.

After all my embellishing was done I added some journaling and then drew some doodle hearts around my clusters.

Thanks so much for popping on to read about my layout.  I also have a process video that I can share with you here: https://youtu.be/5ivh0G37K0c

Until next time, Nicole

Hooray | Shimmerz Paints February Color Kitz | Brandy Vaughn

Hello, friends! I'm excited to show you my newest layout using the February Color Kitz from Shimmerz Paints. Although this is a Valentine-themed kit, I easily adapted it for a birthday layout.

I began by cutting the star paper into four 4x6 pieces then used my scoring tool to score the pieces. I cut four 4x4 pieces of scrap cardstock to attach the scored and folded pieces to.

Once that was complete, I glued them to the center of the heart paper and began embellishing.

Finally, I added a mixed media shadow around the edges using Creameez 1 Hot Mama which comes in the Color Kitz. I'm super happy with how this layout turned out.
I hope you are inspired to create a non-Valentine-themed layout with your February Color Kitz.

Puzzles & Coffee Layout Using the Shimmerz January Color Kit Bundle

Hey all! Nicole here with my second layout of the month.  I'm using the January Color Kitz Bundle to make this layout documenting some puzzle time and a cuppa coffee!

The first thing that I did for this layout was to cut the pink hearts paper slanted across a white cardstock.  I marked with a pencil where those papers lay on the card stock and then added some paints from the kit using a stamp to control where the paint was going.  I then ran my layout through a laminator to get it as flat as possible. Next I added my patterned paper to the layout.

I added some patterned paper behind my pics for a little more dimension.  I added them to opposite corners of the page, popped up on some foam tape.

Next I added the die cuts from the kit.  I added lots of dies that I thought were warm and cozy since this was a stay inside, nice and warm activity.

Also in the kit are some cute stickers that includes trees, little sparkles, and hearts.  I decided to add these among my clusters around the layout.  I added my title with some rubon alphas from my stash and my page was complete.

You can also watch my process for this video here: https://youtu.be/2kpMAKuylhg

Thanks so much for checking out my process for this page.  I hope it gives you come ideas on how to use your kit.

Until next time, Nicole Santos

XMAS PJS Using the January Color Kitz Bundle

Hey all and happy New Year!  Today I'm sharing my first layout using the January Color Kitz Bundle!  I am documenting my daughter showing off her Christmas pjs.  The first thing that I did for this layout was make the background which I did in my unboxing video that you can find here: https://youtu.be/Y4IAyZaXNq4

I added the colors from the kit into sections like little paint swatches on my foundations paper.  Next I distressed and layered my picture on the page.  I then die cut 5 different colored patterned papers from the shop in heart shapes and added them with some foam to the page.

I then grabbed the dotz, stickers, and die cuts from the kit and added them making sure to match the colors as best as possible.  I added some rub-ons from my stash for the title and added some journaling at the top as well.  To finish off the layout I added some iridescent sequins from my stash to bring some bling.

Thanks so much for stopping in to read about my page.  You can find my process video for this layout here: https://youtu.be/GHYShNxpzlU

Until next time, Nicole

Puppy Poses | January 2025 Color Kitz | Brandy Vaughn

Hello, friends! I am thrilled to have a collection that works so well for documenting my daughter's pup. Especially one that matches her little vest. It makes my heart smile.

To create this layout I began by choosing the papers that I wanted to layer up in a strip down my background. Then I ripped and distressed the edges and glued the papers together.

After that, I decided I wanted some mixed media to peek out from underneath the torn papers. I mixed a little bit of Shimmerz-Golden Wheat with some water and used the packaging technique to add it to my page. Then I added some splatters just to give it a bit more interest.

I had this heart sitting on my desk that was left over from a previous layout. It was the center of a cut file that I cut from smooth white cardstock. I added the leftover Shimmerz to it and decided it would be a nice backdrop for my title. I also cut some tags from my January kit scraps and added them above the photos then looped some twine through the holes to finish them off. I also pulled a stamp set from my stash and a few stamped images.

Finally, I sprinkled around some ephemera and puffy stickers from the kit then pulled some alphas from my stash for the title and this layout was complete. I hope you have enjoyed this process and are inspired to create a layout about your own furry friend!

Be sure to check out the Shimmerz Shop for all the details about the January Color Kitz. Don't forget to add my name to the "notes" section of your order for a FREE paint.

There's Snowbody Like You | Shimmerz January Color Kit | Brandy Vaughn

Happy New Year, friends! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. It has been crazy at my house but I had to carve out some time to work with this awesome January Color Kit from Shimmerz Paints as soon as possible.

I want to begin by letting you all know that the yellow paper you see is from my stash. There is a little bit of yellow in the photo and I wanted to include that color more prominently onto my layout. When I first reached for my supplies I went for white cardstock, as usual. But I was curious how the colors in the kit would work out on black cardstock instead. My gut told me it would be fabulous and I was right! Although the shimmery goodness in the colors makes it more difficult to see here, the colors are vibrant and gorgeous in real life.

I began by simply splattering each of the colors onto the cardstock. They include Vibes-Beach Glass, Inklingz-The Holly & The Ivy, Inklingz-Pink About It, Shimmerz-Golden Wheat, and Shimmerz-Buddy's Favorite Color.

Next, I chose 3 of the pattern papers and die-cut 3 circles out of each paper. I strategically placed them "randomly" around the page making sure to leave enough room for the photo and embellishments in the bottom right.

I then placed some craft foam behind my photo and glued it down. Once I chose the ephemera pieces I wanted to use I placed some around the layout and clustered others under the photo.

Finally, I grabbed the puffy stickers from the kit and added some of them to the layout as well. I also used a gel pen to add a small amount of journaling to the page. This layout came together in record time for me. I had a clear vision in the beginning and everything worked out just as I had planned. I couldn't be happier.

If you would like to see this one come together you can check out my video below. Don't forget to add my name to your Shimmerz order for a FREE product.
Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas Scrapbook Layout Using the December Color Kitz

Hey all, Nicole here with my second layout of December.  I am using the December Color Kitz Bundle which is all sold out in the shop!  You can still find the Color Kitz Paintz and the Bonus Bundle.  If you decide to grab either of those, or anything else from the shop, please use my name Nicole in the shopping cart to grab you a little freebie with you order!

To start this page I used tore some papers to go on my background.  I then painted around where my photos would go using the December Color Kitz paints.  After that was dry, I put together my background and popped up my photos on some dimensional foam tape.

I started my embellishing of this page with the die cuts from the bundle.  I added a cluster to the right of my page, the upper left of my photos, and the lower right of my photos.  Once all the die cuts were in place I added silver stars and acetate snowflakes to the page.  I finished with some sequins from my stash.

Thanks for popping on to read about my layout.  I hope that it gets you in the creative mood!  I also have a process video for you to watch here: https://youtu.be/6ouxhqNFU-E

Snug As A Bug | November 2024 Color Kitz | Brandy Vaughn

Hello, friends! I'm back today to show you my final layout using the November Color Kitz.

I began by fussing cutting fussy cutting leaves and fruit from one of the papers. I then took the remainder of the paper and tore a piece to use the back side as a foundation for my cluster.

I also included some ephemera pieces from the kit as well as a couple of pieces that I previously painted and fussy cut to add more texture and visual appeal to my cluster.

I glued all the pieces to the plaid paper, not the background paper. This way I can move the cluster around as one piece to ensure I place it exactly where I want it.

Finally, I added my title using the gold alphas from the kit then topped off the layout with some splatters of  Creameez in Whitches Blue.

I hope I've inspired you to give the November Color Kit a try. Head on over to the Shimmerz Shop to check out all of the details on the kit.

Happy Fall Y'all | Shimmerz Paints November Color Kitz | Brandy Vaughn

I am so excited to be back here to show y'all my first layout using November Color Kitz from Shimmerz Paints! This kit was so perfect for documenting these precious photos of my niece's family.

I jumped right in coloring the color sheet with all the paints and sprays from the color kit plus a few extra from my stash, including the way cool new Twinklingz!

Next, I created my own cut file in Cricut Design Space and backed it with a pretty piece of paper from the kit.

After I had it backed, I realized there wasn't enough contrast between the white cardstock of the cut file and the patterned paper I backed it with. So, I painted the cut file with the Twinklingz in Bark Up the Wrong Tree.

Then chose my element from the kit as well as some felt alphas from my stash to embellish all around my photos.

I love how fun this layout is! Everything came together so easily and I couldn't be happier. If you would like to see this one come together you can check out my process video below. Don't forget to check out the new November Color Kitz as well as the new Twinklingz in the Shimmerz Shop. Add my name to your order if you would like to be sent a free product!
