Good Luck With That Ya Dumb Twit

Dean Obeidallah a progressive twiterati, and apparently a progressive comedian (yet not a funny one), has announced he doesn't like Elon Musk.

Since after all its an evergreen progressive screed that "Everyone I don't like is a fascist", and Dean surely considers Elon Musk to be one, as he won't abide by the progressive line.

But Dean Obeidallah didn't want to leave it at that.

He announced today decided to file a FOIA on Elon's immigration application to try and see if he could get him deported.  Really.

As a lawyer however, Dean Obeidallah is really not that good.

After all, doesn't he know you cannot simply FOIA someone's immigration application?  By the way, you don't need to even be a lawyer to do a FOIA request, just saying.  But in this case its a rather fruitless one that will be denied.

But, well, apparently he does not know this:

No, no you won't ya dimwit.

Absent the applicant's permission, those records are not FOIA-ble.

One wag on Twitter asked him to do Ilhan Omar's next.  No response, funny that.

Any side-bets that progressive simps in USCIS will leak the application?

The Left Has Issues Telling The Truth About Guns

First of course we have journalists like NPR claiming a bullet from an AR15 will blow your head clear off (newsflash - it won't), and do you feel lucky punk?

Who can forget our current President claiming a 9mm bullet will blow a lung clear out of your body (newsflash - it really, really won't)?

And of course, our current President repeatedly keeps falsely claiming that at the time the Second Amendment was passed ordinary people couldn't buy cannons.   In point of fact, they certainly could and did, and they could even put them on ships and sail the seas with them to boot.

So Being Liberal had to come up with and post a meme that's false on many levels.  The Left really has trouble making memes.

Notice how they falsely and misleadingly conflate selling a taco with buying a rifle to try and sell their propaganda that more regulation and laws on selling firearms must be passed, even as they have no idea or don't care what the current ones even are right now.

In fact for a merchant to sell an AR15 they need to have all sorts of County/City permits. But they also need a Federal Firearms License, perform background checks on every buyer, keep records of all their sales including the identity of every buyer and every firearm sold - al of things Taco sellers do not have to do.

It would be more honest if they compared buyers to buyers, but they won't do that, and after I pointed out the false equivalency, another fellow posted this up to kindly fix it for them:

It's at least more accurate but as such it sure doesn't work out in the Left's favor anymore and in fact makes the opposite point, as the truth concerning firearms and firearms law in this country often does.

Tone Deaf, Much?

Someone over at ATF has just got to be trolling Facebook to add people to their extremist watch list:

Either that or their social media person has no sense of irony nor memory of the agency's history when it comes to fire.

I'm Suprised It Has Taken This Long - Stupid Game Player Wins Stupid Prize

Social media pranks are all the rage - scaring people and other fun hi-jinks played on the unsuspecting.  Many such have left us shaking our heads that such actions are going to lead to someone doing such antics getting shot sooner or later.

The pranks often are safely executed in locales where the unsuspecting scare-ees are unlikely or unable to be carrying weapons or be inclined to violently defend themselves from the scare-ers.  But, one Youtuber just managed to commit such an act of stupidity where armed citizens happen to be not so rare to come across.

With rather predictable results.

FoxNews: Tennessee man, 20, shot dead during YouTube prank robbery: cops

In short,  the prankster, along with a fellow accomplice, approached a person not in on the joke with drawn knives and acted like they were attempting to rob him and his friends as a prank.  This ended with the prankster assuming ambient temperature after being shot.

The prankster wasn't the victim here.  Instead it was the law-abiding citizen being forced to shoot the dumb schmuck who both assaulted him and made him justifiably believe he was facing a deadly threat requiring him to react with deadly force.

Biden And Ukraine Corruption - The Story The Media Wants To Go Away

The media is not just in the tank for Biden. they're battening down the hatches and blocking all vision ports and redlining the throttle in an effort to haul him to the finish line.

Looks like they're doing all they can to keep this story from getting any coverage - including in the case of social media sites Twitter and Facebook outright blocking the story from being published on their platforms:

New York Post: Twitter, Facebook censor Post over Hunter Biden exposé

So much for any claim that Facebook and Twitter are merely platforms rather than publishers under the CDA.

Still no mention of it at all at the Detnews nor the Freep.

The New York Times has jumped in with both feet to shield Biden and run cover for him in what should be more considered an op-ed rather than straight news: Biden Did Not Meet With Ukrainian Energy Executive, Campaign Says.

Actually, the campaign stated  the meeting wasn't on his official calendar - not a denial that they met at all, and the campaign have now started to indicate a meeting may have occurred "in passing".

But Twitter and Facebook's actions in blockign the story and even banning the NY Post memebrs who linked to the story may be resulting in a Streisand Effect about the material, but only if you know how to look for the story in the first place.

We're watching one of the greatest displays of media bias in progress here.

Oh Karen, That Idea Won't Possibly Go Badly

One of my lefty acquaintances on Facebook invited me into a pro-Whitmer Facebook Group "Michiganders for Staying Home To Defeat Covid-19".

As one might expect it's full of protesters bad, Orange Man bad, Gov Whitmer is awesome, and her orders should not be questioned in any way, with a ton of in-group virtue signaling.

Of course, conspiracy theories that the protests were all planned and funded by Michigan Conservative groups looms large, and how dare they question Saint Gretchen whose authoritarian shut-down will save us all.

Some criticism of the protestors who contrary to the event's intent were congregating closely instead of staying in their cars as requested can indeed be valid, but these folks are off the hook.

But a rather nasty stream came up - not just name calling and such towards the protestors but looking to have them fired from their employment:

Vast majority of the 1.4+ thousand comments in the thread were for trying to get the protestor fired. Interestingly, those who argued against it were attacked and shouted down.

Lots of Karens were all for informing the protesters employer and even the police for the person's participation in the protest.

This is quite a panicked herd of people in that group, and the panic and virtue-signalling is feeding off itself rather nicely.

Trying to get someone fired because they dared exercise no more than their opinion that's different than yours is not a smart move and likely won't end well.

We May Not Always Have Been At War With Eastasia

But the media has always been at war with President Trump.

It's fun to watch the Democrats rewrite history in real time.

It's not like they're rewriting history outside of present memory (though they do that too, and often) but they're rewriting the history of a few weeks and months ago to suit their agenda.

We may not have always been at war with Eastasia, but the media has always been at war with president Trump.

Many of my lefty friends are passing around this bit: Saluting the Heroes of the Coronavirus Pandumbic.

While they're sharing it around on social media, they are busily nodding knowingly to each other about how dumb Trump and Fox News were to downplay the Coronavirus before it hit hard.

Welp, people can remember, as it wasn't exactly a lifetime ago, though it may feel that way, that it wasn't just Fox News or Trump downplaying the Coronavirus threat: Free Beacon, via their video posted on Twitter has a most amusing compendium of the mainstream media folks indicating even at rather a late dates how the coronavirus isn't a threat and is being overplayed.

The media with the exception of Fox News certainly forecast this coming goes the current lefty story, only the dumb Fox News and Trumpm dared downplay the threat.

Or you know, maybe not so much at all: from David Henry on Twitter):

Try not to forget.

Ghosting In Facebook Marketplace

People in general are indeed strange folks.

I have an item up for sale on Facebook marketplace and I've been getting some weird results.

On multiple occasions people have contacted and offered a reasonable amount for it below the listing price, which I accepted.

Some make an offer and then back out when it is accepted.

But others, once they agree on the price then ghost away and never bother to complete the sale, wasting everyone's time and not so much as a "I changed my mind message".

Some have been so nice as to arrange a time to pick it up and then never show at the time nor contact again which is even more annoying.

So ghosting is apparently an acceptable thing to do on social media marketplaces after agreeing to buy something. Ah well, people are indeed strange.

Apparently facebookers don't go by the offer--acceptance--contract--follow-through model of getting things done, which is irksome.
