Winners of the 2014 Make It A Handmade Christmas

SewCalGal was inspired by Cindy (SewCindy) who makes beautiful handmade Christmas gifts and decorations, throughout the year.  Her handmade projects are gifts of love and certainly treasured by the lucky recipients.  Wanting to promote making handmade items for Christmas, I hosted the monthly challenges.  It was fun to see what the participants made and many are ready to give a variety of handmade gifts for Christmas, as well as enjoy new decorations for the season. As this event is now over, today I'm delighted to announce all of the lucky winners of prizes generous donated by sponsors.

2014 Christmas Handmade Pledge
SewCalGal wants to recognize and thank our sponsors for this event, as they have generously donated wonderful prizes, many of which are also perfect for making Christmas items!  And, I'll be showcasing these projects throughout the year.  Here is the list of our sponsors for this event and I hope everyone will visit these sponsors, as they do have beautiful products and designs, that are perfect for making handmade gifts and decorations for the holidays:

While the majority of the winners were randomly selected, there were also special drawings for those that made the most handmade items in 2014, the largest item made, the most unusual, capturing the theme of the challenge, as well as free-motion quilting and #ChristmasGoodness.  And those winners are showcased below:

Here are a few highlights of some of the inspirational handmade gifts or decorations shared in this challenge, which you also click thru for tutorials, more photos and inspiration.

Connie (Freemotion by the River) shared a beautiful pillow that she made for a Christmas Gift, that uses inspirational threadplay and freemotion quilting.   Definitely worth clicking thru to her blog to see more photos, as well as checking out her creative blog.

Elaine (Summercrafter) shared a tutorial to make super cute stitched ornaments.

Shari (Sunshine in the Attic) shared a tutorial to make a super cute apron, which is a great Christmas gift, as well as decorative kitchen attire for the holidays.

Sharon (Vroomans Quilts) made oodles of fun gifts, but her plastic shopping bag holders just caught my eye for a fun and fast project to give a handmade gift that can be used throughout the year.  Plus, she shared a link to the tutorial on Moda Bakeshop to make these cute bags.

Stitchin Therapy made many handmade gifts, as well as decorations, but her quilted wallhangings have lovely freemotion quilting and I found absolutely inspirational, making it difficult to decide if I preferred her blue or red version.  You'll just have to visit her blog to see them both and decide for yourself, if you have a favorite.

Wont-to-be-a-quilter probably shared one of the largest projects.

It was also fun to see such a variety of handmade projects, as well as many beautiful items made with fabric.  You may recall the beautiful Christmas Tree earrings that Juanita (Catmama) made.  While she doesn't have a blog, she has provided the tutorial to me which I will share with you this week.

An email will be sent to notify the winners and have them claim their prize (prizes), as appropriate. For prizes that are not claimed within 3 days will have new winners selected.  If you see this announcement, before you receive my email to you, you can also email me email address copyand include the prize# for any prize (or prizes) you won that you want to claim.  If you won a physical item, please include your mailing info, as appropriate.

The total number of prizes were allocated to the monthly challenges, where winners were selected from each of the monthly events.  As stated in the rules for this challenge, the more challenges you entered the more chances you get to win prizes.

Congratulations to all of the lucky winners:
