Celebrating Love with fall colors - September Falling Leaves kit

It's me again, Nicole, and this is my 4th project
created with the Scraps of Elegance "Falling Leaves" kit!

I can never get enough of Autumn-themed layouts and projects,
so this was the perfect kit for me! Plus, I have loads of Fall photos to scrap, this one from my boyfriend and I's very first Autumn together back in 2006!  The leaves were just starting to change colour and we were FALLing in love!

I opted for a neutral colour combination of grey and white
with a touch of different shades of yellow!
Look at all those gorgeous blooms all from the Floral add-on.

In the Elements add-on, there is some beautiful Washi tape from Prima
so I added a few strips on this page. I decorated with many pieces of Prima Ephemera.

Look at us... so young and hopeful!  And the spark is as much alive as it was then!

Now it's your turn... make sure that you share with us your creations using the Scraps of Darkness or Scraps of Elegance kits

Super Sweet Autumn layout - Falling Leaves kit

Hello everyone!

Nicole here today, and I am thrilled to be sharing another Autumn
layout created with the fabulous Scraps of Elegance "Falling Leaves" kit.

I so love how this layout turned out!  From the gorgeous background paper to the many layers of fussy cut flowers, die cut doilies, chipboard elements and the beautiful flowers and bling... all from the kit and its add-ons!

This combination of warm colours go so well together and look at those scalloped chipboard borders from the Blue Fern Studios set.  Perfect layering.

I didn't add much mixed media techniques to this page except for a few dabs of white paint on my flowers.  The background paper is so pretty just as it is.

I used this very sweet photo of my friend's daughter as the focal point. It just went along so well with the 'sweet as honey' theme!

I will be back soon with yet another "Falling Leaves" project!
Make sure to come back for more!!

Celebrating Fall with two beautiful layouts - Falling Leaves kit

Hello to all the Scraps of Darkness and Scraps of Elegance community!
It is Nicole with you today, sharing a project created with the gorgeous Scraps of Elegance September 'Falling Leaves' kit.

My page was inspired by the Cuts2luv October mood board

Here is the 'Falling Leaves' kit followed by the Coordinating Paper,
Elements and Floral add-ons with which I created this month.

Make sure to visit the Store Website right HERE to find out more about the SOD & SOE kits.

Now, let's take a closer look at my layout. Every Scraps of Darkness and Scraps of Elegance kits come with so many elements
that the creative possibilities are endless, and this kit is no exception.

Among the Blue Fern Studios chipboard, the Prima Ephemera and Word Stickers as well as all the lovely papers, I found so much inspiration.

The main kit comes with some gorgeous blooms from 49 and Market, and if you're like me and can never get enough of beautiful flowers, then you can subscribe to the floral add-ons.  The September Floral add-on includes 4 packs of Prima flowers all from the Amber Moon collection.

This photo of my partner and I was taken in 2015 during a Fall photoshoot with my best friend Christine as the amateur, yet very talented, photographer.

When I started scrapbooking back in 2004, and in the first few years after that, all that I ever did were double-page layouts.
Even though my style has changed and I now do mostly single pages, I occasionally like to go back to my roots.  Double page means double fun!

I opted for a plain white cardstock background
as I thought it the best way to showcase the many beautiful
patterned papers out of the main kit and the coordinated paper add-on.

I love the black, orange and yellow combo over the white.

The pictures are of my good friend's family Fall photoshoot.

I used many of the Prima Ephemera die-cuts and Word Stickers.
The Elements Add-On includes some fabulous Prima washi tape
which I used on this double spread to add some vertical shiny layers.

Two Beautiful Blue Layouts - July Country Chic Kit

Hello everyone!  Nicole here to share with you layout #4
created with the Scraps of Elegance July 'Country Chic' kit.

My intention was to create only 3 layouts and some cards with this kit, but I had so many leftovers and still so many gorgeous papers to use that I decided to do a 4th layout to showcase this fabulous kit.

I layered many different pieces of papers behind my picture
and added lots of flowers on which I sprinkled some of the glitter
included in the Elements add-on kit.

I love that the Kaisercraft papers come with a quote on each paper lining.

Look at those gorgeous purplish blue butterflies!
What a beautiful colour palette I was able to put together for this layout to go along with my outfit on the picture.  Love it!

Do you love the look of this kit as much as I do?!

Well, if so, do not miss out on the chance of getting either the Scraps of Elegance
or Scraps of Darkness kits shipped directly to your door every month!

Have a great creative day!

Hello, scrappy peeps!
It's time for me to share another project created with the July Scraps of Elegance Kit which features 49 and Market's Cottage Life collection as well as KaiserCraft's Lilac Whisper along with tons of embellishments.

"Collecting Eggs"

I found this wonderful old "still" photo of Lucille Ball among my Lucy photos and knew I wanted to use it if it possibly worked out at all. (The photo was taken by John Springer and is part of the Corbis collection now available through Getty images.)

I've used the back side of Cottage Life: Fresh Delivery as my base layer and included a torn layer of side B from Bicycle Alley. You can see that I've fussy cut images from Watering the Garden and Cottage Cut Outs.

To add some interest, I threw some watered down gesso across the center of the page before adhering a Blue Fern Studios Swirly Circle chipboard piece from my stash. Everything was built upon those layers.
Once my basic composition was figured out, the layout went together fairly quickly.

I adore the sweet Papermania notelets which serve as doily layers. The remainder of the layout relies heavily on the Cottage Life layered embellishments from the Elements add-on as well as flowers from the Floral add-on.

My title was computer generated and adhered to a piece of the striped side of the Garland paper.

More flowers tucked all around and dabbed with white gesso to blend. You can see some of my random sisal poking out to the side.

My "Lucy" subtitle was just small alphas from my stash. I had one last layered butterfly and used it here!

Just a quick dimensional shot.

Here's photo of the July Scraps of Elegance Main Kit. Last time I checked it was still in stock ... but they go quickly! To ensure that you never miss another Kit, you'll want to visit the Scraps of Darkness/Elegance Store and begin you Kit subscription. Personally, I order all the add-ons, so that I'll have plenty of co-ordinated supplies.

Elements add-on, sold out

Floral add-on, sold out

I guess that wraps it up for today.
As always, we so appreciate your dropping by and supporting us!

See you next time!

Two Gorgeous Shabby Chic layouts - July Country Chic kit

Nicole here today with another creation
I made with the Scraps of Elegance July 'Country Chic' kit!

For this page, I opted for a beautiful purple/lilac background
with some aqua green peeking through some torn layers.
I absolutely adore how these 2 papers look together,
one 49 and Market 'Cottage Life' and the other Kaisercraft ' Lilac Whisper'.

I used a few pieces from the Papermania Die Cut Notes set,
as it matched very well with these papers.  I added a couple metal charms and of course, lots of flowers from the Main kit and the Floral Add-On as well as some Layered Embellishments.

I sprayed some white mist on my background and flowers.

The picture is of the impressive Chateau Frontenac in Quebec city, Canada.

I am thrilled to be back with you today to share another creation
featured with the Scraps of Elegance July 'Country Chic' kit.

I created the background of this layout by cutting 2 of the Kaisercraft papers diagonallyand merging them together. I added some stamped design using the Blue Fern Studios
set included in the Elements Add-On and some purple and aqua Lindy's sprays.

I cut off the scalloped borders off some of the Papermania die-cuts
and used the teal colored circles as framing for my flower clusters.

49 and Market Layered Embellishments, fussy cut paper flowers,
embossed stamp daisies as well as lots of flowers and roses from
both the main kit and the Floral add-on make up these flower clusters.

I thought that a grey-scale photo would look great in the midst
of all these beautiful pastel colours.
