Stampendous and Dreamweaver Stencils Blog Hop

Welcome to the Dreamweaver Stencils and Stampendous "Faces of Art" Blog Hop!  I hope you've enjoyed all the inspiration this week and that you've left loads of comments for a chance to win!

For my project today I've inverted a canvas and used the backside as my base.  The face from the Blossom Beauty stamp has been stamped in Archival ink onto Bazzill music paper and then painted with a wash of Distress ink and cut out.  I added  the flower stamp from the same set that was stamped onto a stenciled piece of pattern paper and then die-cut using the matching Blossom Beauty die.  My paper was stenciled with Mosaic Swirls in Distress paint.

The coral  pattern paper on the inside of the canvas was stenciled with more distress paint using the Damask stencil.

My edges were painted with Distress paint and then covered with crochet ribbon from May Arts.  The collar on my Beauty was created with Crochet trim from Petaloo.  I also added some painted flowers and butterfly from the new Burlap collection from Petaloo as well as a sentiment tag using the Dream Forever stamp.

Be sure to hop around to everyone's blogs today for a chance to win one of three prize packages:

Stenciled Blossom Beauty

Stampendous and Dreamweaver Stencils have such a wonderful working relationship that we are collaborating again this week!  I hope you've been catching all the beautiful projects this week at the Stampendous blog and the Dreamweaver blog.  And don't forget to catch our blog hop tomorrow!

For today's project I've used the flower stamp from Blossom Beauty and the coordinating Blossom Beauty dies to create a dimensional flower.  After stamping the image thrice I used each of the three different dies and then layered my pieces with dimensional adhesive.  My images were stamped in Versamark ink and then embossed in Aged Win and Aged Teal Embossing Enamel.

My background was created using the Letterpress technique and the Large Scales stencil with Blue Martini Memories Mist.  I also added a leaf looking flourish with Art Nouveau Flourish stencil and Kiwi Metallic F/X powder.

Don't forget to go around and comment on everyone's posts all this week for a chance to win of one three prize packages!

Stampendous! and Tombow Blog Hop

Have you been joining us this week for the Stampendous and Tombow Collaboration?  We're at the end of the week and its finally time for our hop!  There will, of course, be prizes! And you will want to be sure to like our pages on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and Pinterest, and subscribe to and comment on our blogs. Lots of opportunities to win. Plus, of course, you need to have a US address (sorry!). We’re excited to share.

I received the Grunge set of markers, long with a few others goodies including the blending palette.  I began a background piece by swiping 3 of the colors across the blending palette, spritzing with water, and then stamping that onto my cardstock.

Next I took the same 3 colors and colored them randomly on the background tweed stamp from Mixed Media Dress Form stamp set.  I repeated this process a few times to cover this background piece.

Finally I stamped the dress form in Versamark ink over the Tweed and embossed it with Aged Gold Embossing Enamel.  Then I created her a skirt with some May Arts ribbons.

Stampendous and Faber-Castell Blog Hop

Happy Friday!  Its been a fun collaboration week and now its blog hop time for Stampendous and Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft.  For today I created an 8x8 canvas with tons of mixed media layers!

I began by coating my canvas with Faber-Castell Gesso and then let that dry.  Next I swiped on a heavy amount of Margarita Mix, Lavender, and Snow Cone gelatos in a semi grid pattern.  Using a wet paintbrush I carefully spread out and slightly mixed the overlapping borders to create my background.
I used some Stampendous stencils to remove some of the gelato color with a baby wipe and then let that dry.

Next I added some stamping using my Cobalt Green Stamper's Big Brush pen with NK Studio Grunge and NK Studio Mish Mesh stamps from Stampendous.

Then I took another Stampendous stencil and added Gesso with a palette knife through the holes.  While that was still wet I sprinkled on Turquoise UF Pearl Glitter from the Sumptuous Stack Art Elements kit and some Melon UF Pearl glitter and Teal Mica Fragments from the Fusion Stack Art Elements kit.  The gesso not only added texture but also acted as an adhesive for the glitter and mica!

Finally I created a tag with a mini canvas pennant from Canvas Corp, colored it with Gelato, then stamped Life is Art with my Big Brush pen.  This was attached with 3 in 1 glue from Beacon, and I added a clothespin from Canvas Corp, some ribbon from May Arts, and a flower from Petaloo.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Sir Rabbit mixed media card

Have you enjoyed the projects that you've seen from the Stampendous DT for the Stampendous/ Faber-Castell collaboration?  They're not over yet!  I have one more for you today, plus be sure to check the Stampendous blog today for more links.  Don't forget to check in on Friday as well for our blog hop!

Today is a card using gelatos again, but this time I've used them as watercolors over Pan Pastels.  I first stamped Sir Rabbit onto Kraft cardstock then colored his pants and bow tie with blue pan pastel.  After setting that with a quick fixative I added some gelato highlights.

I scribbled my colors onto my craft sheet then pulled the color with a waterbrush to add accents.

Mixed Media Heart with Gelatos and Fran'tage

Good morning!  This week Stampendous is collaborating with Faber-Castell so it's going to be a mixed media type week!  Faber-Castell sent the DT all kinds of fun Design Memory Craft products: gelatos, pencils, gesso and more!

For this card I began with a white panel of heavy watercolor paper and swiped three colors of gelatos across the panel.  I spritzed that with water then blended it out with a flat brush.  I then added some of the darkest shade of red around the edges and blended that in with my finger.

After that was dry I stamped the Cherish Heart stamp in versamark ink then embossed it with a combo of Aged Scarlet and Aged Hunter embossing enamels.

I finished the card off with a panel of green embossed with Botanical Blooms and Aged Hunter embossing enamel and a large May Arts ribbon.

Be sure to check in at the Stampendous blog all this week to see who's playing along and we'll finish with a big Hop this Friday!

Paint: Its Elementary!

In celebration of Stampendous being at the   Vegas Paint’s Creative Painting event for Decorative Painters this week the design team are posting painterly projects.  Here's one I did with Liquitex paint and the Creative Palette.

The two background mats were both created with the CP.  I brayered paint out then stamped into the wet paint and transferred the prints.  On both pieces I used the Square Illusion stamp and the Chunky Chevron stencil from The Crafter's workshop.

I also added touches of black paint with a bottle cap imprinted into the paint on the CP and then stamped onto my prints.

The focal image is the new Sherlock Cat stamped then colored with my Copics.

Hope they have fun at the convention, I wish I were there too!  Stay tuned I have another painted project for you for tomorrow :)

Stampendous and May Arts Blog hop

Welcome to Blog Hop day with Stampendous and May Arts!  May Arts was very generous with the Stampendous design team as always and they have the largest selection of the most yummy ribbon!

For my card I used the new Creative Palette with some earthy paint colors, the Giraffe stencil from The Crafter's workshop, and the Square Illusion stamp for my backgrounds.

I added the new Geometric Giraffe in detail black EP ver the orange background and finally created a accent piece using the essential elements from the new Survival Stack ARt Essentials kit.

The black mesh May Arts  ribbon was the perfect accent for this piece, with a nice natural organic look to it.

Stampendous' Creative Palette

Good morning from the snow covered piedmont of North Carolina!  This is the most snow and ice we've seen since my freshman year of college over 20 years ago.  Its beautiful but our area is nearly shut down, including no Starbucks! What?!!!

This week has been all about showing off the new Creative Palette from Stampendous.  Its a totally new and different mono printing plate that is similar to the gelli in many ways yet very unique.   I was so thrilled when Fran introduced it so I created tons of catalog samples with printed backgrounds.  Some were cards and others journal pages, like this one.

To use the Creative Palette just squirt on some acrylic paint, brayer it out, and you are ready to print.  For this background I built up many layers of prints using the same paint colors.  On some I printed through a stencil, some the reverse of the stencil, and some I stamped into the plate.  The result is a fun mix of fiery colors.

After my color was laid down and dry I stamped Glance on a piece of book text with black paint, tore the edges, then adhered that to my page with Gel medium.  After adding more medium on top I added some paint for her hair and skin and cheeks then blended her into the background with more paint.

Finally I added the Live Creatively stamp in black paint, inked my edges with paint, and added some additional texture with the black paint using a hotel key card to make lines.

Suplies:

Stampendous

Other:
Stencils (The Crafter's Workshop)
Paint (Liquitex basics)
Gel Medium (Golden)
Brayer
Book text
lids, hotel key card
Mixed Media paper (Strathmore)

Stack Art Mania

Have you seen peeks of the newest rage to hit Mixed Media?  Stampendous' Stack Art is here!  The system has 3 different components and various kits for each component.  Then you can mix and match to your hearts' content!  There are chipboard kits:

Elements kits:

And Stamp kits:

These kits all mix and match for endless possibilities!  I have a Stack Art creation for you today that uses Stack Art kraftboard Regal Bird kit, Stack Art Rubber Stamps Regal Bird kit, and Stack Art Elements Sumptuous kit.

I've painted some of my Kraftboard with Silks acrylic glazes, then for other pieces I used the enclosed pre-cut adhesive on the Kraftboard and then added glitter from the Elements kit.  These kits are so much fun to create with, you should check out more info on them at Stampendous Impressions and while you're there get links for other projects the team has made!

Stampendous Sneak Peek: Bonjour Kitty

Are you ready for more Stampendous peeks?  Here's one of my new favorite stamps called Bonjour Kitty.  I have him colored with my Copics to match the paint backgrounds that I created with my Creative Palette.

I put dabs of Liquitex paint on my CP then brayered it on, added some stencils and then created the monoprints.  I also stamped into the paint on the CP and then onto the prints.

Here's a closer shot at Monsieur Kitty:

A bit of Stampendous style Mixed Media

Welcome back to sneak peek week for Stampendous! Fran designed some really gorgeous Mixed Media Stamps this round including the new Mixed Media Dress Form stamp set.  Below is a snippet from one of the journal pages that I sent in for the January catalog using Dress Form plus a few other new stamps.

I began with my Creative Palette and some Tim Holtz Distress Paints, brayered them on and lifted a print using templates from the new Mixed Media sets.  I continued to add more paint and more layers with the templates as well as the background from Dress Form as well as stamps from some of the new Stack Art rubber stamp kits.

The Dress Form I stamped last using Versamark Ink and Vintage Mahogany Embossing Tinsel.

Here's a closer shot of how part of the background turned out:

Be sure to keep checking out the Stampendous blog for more peeks this week!

Nathalie Kalbach's new Mixed Media stamps for Stampendous!

Its catalog sneak peek time for Stampendous and the team is showing off the new January CHA releases.  When we got the stamps a few months back I was so thrilled to learn that my friend Nat Kalbach would be releasing her very own line of Mixed Media stamps through Stampendous!

This is a journal page that I reproduced in my journal after the one that I created for the January catalog using Nat's stamps along with the new Creative Palette.  I just love the grungy yet organic look of her stamps!  They are also the perfect accompaniment to the Creative Palette (similar to the Gelli Plate).

These stamps, like all the newest Jumbo stamps from Stampendous each come with a free template (stencil).  I began by brayering paint onto my Creative Palette and using her stencils to lay down the first layers on my page.  I also brayered paint onto my CP and stamped directly into that to transfer to the page.

Winter Wonderland

Greetings from Anaheim!  I'll be hanging out at CHA for the next few days and am so excited to see lots of friends from around the world :)

I've been a terrible blogger lately.  There have been lots of changes in my home life which I may share at a later time, but just know that I haven't forgotten my readers, fellow DT members or fellow bloggers.

This week the Stampendous gals have been sharing Snow People cards.  I shared one a couple of weeks back (scroll down to end of post) but today I thought I'd post these cute Jumbo Penguins.  They're little waddling snow babies too, right?

My background was created with the snowflake stamp from the Penguin set, using Versamark ink and Detail White EP.  My Penguins were colored with Copics: YG17,23,21; BV08,04,02; B24,21; C0; YR02.  Ribbon is from Bo Bunny.

Be sure to head to the Stampendous blog to see more fun snowy creations from this week!  And check back with me tomorrow for a new peek from Dreamweaver Stencils and later in the week for CHA pics!

In the spirit of all the crazy people who will be out shopping on Black Friday this week I thought I'd post a card with this cute little Gifts Kiddo.  He's one of the newest kiddos on the block at Stampendous.

Pumpkin Kiddo

This week is Stampendous' Kiddos showcase week and I have a cute little Pumpkin Kiddo card for you today.  Is she a little doll or what?  I haven't been coloring much lately but the kiddos are always fun to color with copics, speccies, pencils, or whatever you choose.

I colored her with my copics  (E00, E000, YR68, YR16, YR12, YG17, YG23, YG21, E27, E25) then cut her out with a Lifestyle Crafts die and put her aside.

My background was created by filling in a white sheet of cardstock with Tim Holtz Distress ink in Peeled Paint, Spiced Marmalade, and Broken China using a blending tool.  I then stamped the Haunting Background over that in Black archival ink.  She was finished with some layering and a bit of fun chevron ribbon from May Arts.

Be sure to check out what the rest f the team is posting this week on the Stampendous blog.

HAlloween Altered Book

This altered book was one of my favorite projects for Stampendous for July CHA.  It began life as a duplicate hard back book (otherwise I could never bring myself to paint it!)

The cover was painted in Hematite Maya Gold paint and after that dried the fun began!

My focal point is the new Mirror Mirror stamp from Stampendous.  I stamped her in Versamark ink on previously painted paper then embossed her in Aged Black embossing Enamel then set this aside.

On the book itself I added multiple layers of paper (Echo Park), stenciling (Copper Embossing Creme through Ronda Palazzari's Quatrefoil stencil from The Crafter's Workshop), and moe stamping with Haunting Background embossed in Aged Spice.

I added some black Mesh ribbon from May Arts...

And lots of fall flowers from Petaloo...

Overall a very fun cover to alter!  Plus the insides began to take shape but I of course forgot to take picture of the inside before I mailed it off, LOL.
