Surprise!!! It's Best Bunny!

There is something about Granny Apple Green that just brings a smile to my face!  When the first signs of Spring appear you are sure to see that lovely yellow green shade.  Today's card features not only Granny Apple Green...  oh, how I wish I could wear that lovely color...  :-(  and another fav...  gingham!

I just adore these bunnies and the coordinating punch from Stampin' Up!  I did do some fussy cutting to create their perfectly white tummies and lovely pink inner ears.  I also cut out the fun carrots.  Did you notice that wonderful wink on bunny number three?  He got all the carrots after all!  I guess the other two bunny friends were surprised by that!  ;-)  They really don't look TOO annoyed with him.

So here are some of the items I used...

Stampin' Up - Best Bunny stamp and coordinating punch, Buffalo Check stamp
Stampin' Up - Granny Apple Green, Watermelon Wonder Card Stocks
Recollections - White Cardstock
Spellbinders - Oval Die
Copics - Y38, YR68, YG05,YG45
Dew Drops
Memento Tuxedo Black, Stampin' Up - Granny Apple Green (sentiment)
Stampin' Up - Rectangles Stitched Framelits

Mass Producing a Merry Christmas

We have all been there.  You need a bunch of cards and in a hurry!  That usually happens to me every Christmas season.  You would think someone who blogs about card making...  has cards!  Wrong!  I am always procrastinating until you guessed it...  I have 10 days til the day and zero cards!  :-(  I am totally a bad card influence!  #cardloser

And just in case you think I have it together for 2019 I must confess I created these cards before last Christmas.  I never mailed them.  Sigh...  #doublecardloser

So if you do not want to be like me...  you can start early and pick a pattern that is fast, easy and can be changed up easily.  Here's a design I did in three different versions that literally took a few hours.

 Gray and White

 Black and White

Red and Black

You can see I mixed up the design colors using red and black, gray and black along with black and white.  I also chose to mask the sentiment and use different colors on occasion.  You can really take a simple design and make it your own.  I made 5 of these in no time and I used a new toy for me...  the Stamparatus.  I'm not a Stampin' Up demonstrator so I can tell you that gizmo is super handy!  LOVE!

Here's the details for the cards you see!  Thanks as always and have a great day!

Stampin' Up - Buffalo Check Stamp, Farmhouse Christmas Stamp
Stampin' Up - Real Red, Always Artichoke, Gray Granite Card Stocks
Memento Tuxedo Black, Stampin' Up Real Red Ink
Spellbinders - Jolly Holly Die
Our Daily Bread Designs - Circles Die, Stitched Circles Die

Word Art Wednesday 250 & 251

Good morning and welcome to a new bi-weekly challenge at Word Art Wednesday!  This week we have a wonderful digital image featuring scripture from Psalms.  To find the digi scripture featured and details of how you can play along in the #250-#251 challenge pop over to Word Art Wednesday for all the details.  But before you check it out, take a moment to look at the card I created using this week's featured digi!

I started with a white card stock base measuring 4.25 by 11 inches, folded and scored at 5.5 inches.  I cut a slightly smaller DP panel using The Paper Studio's The Shoppe on the Square Paper Pad.  I added a die cut overlay (Spellbinders' Grateful Lattice) in white CS using dimensional foam.  I used Our Daily Bread Designs' Pierced Rectangles Die to create a frame and their Small Bow Die for my vellum panel.  I printed the sentiment on vellum with my inkjet printer.  I chose the specialty paper function when printing and used a heat gun to insure the ink was set.  ODBD's Pierced Rectangles cut and framed the sentiment.  I just love the soft look of vellum, don't you?  Don't forget to hop over to the WAW site to play along and see what the other designers have created!

Blessings...

WAW177 ~ Psalm 126:3 ~

It's time for another fabulous, fun and inspirational challenge

Be sure to check out the Word Art Wednesday site for all of the details including this week's digital scripture, how to link your creation AND info on some fabulous prizes!

We appreciate this week's sponsors so very much!  Please take a few moments to thank those who provided our prizes this week!

I love it when we visit the book of Psalms.  This week we have a passage from the 126th chapter to share...

Sometimes in the midst of life's everyday struggles, it is easy to lose sight of just what our Lord and Savior has done for us.  I am more guilty than most.  When times are tough and physical ailments challenge me, it is easy to lose sight of the promise.  I read a passage in a book this weekend that brought this home to me.  A character was talking about why people suffer physical ailments, particularly those that end in death.  Another character offered this thought...  God isn't glorified through the simple things...  He is glorified when those suffering praise him at the point when others would give up.

I guess my take away is this....  it's easy to praise the Lord when things are going perfectly and it is much harder to praise Him when things are not.  But it is those times, when our praises pack the most punch...  for our Father and those who witness our walk.

Blessings...

WAW159 ~ Psalm 100:4 ~ Thanksgiving

It's time for another fabulous, fun and inspirational challenge

Be sure to check out the Word Art Wednesday site for all of the details including this week's digital scripture, how to link your creation AND info on some fabulous prizes!

We appreciate our sponsor's generosity so very much!  Please take a few moments to thank those who provided our prizes this week!

This week we are visiting the book of Psalms and receiving words of Thanksgiving...

This is an amazing scripture!  Thanksgiving should be every day and not just one day each year.  This challenges my heart on so many levels.  When I pray, do I have the right attitude...  gratitude and thankfulness?  Do my actions show my gratitude and bless others?  Am I truly thankful for each and every blessing?  Do I recognize everything is a blessing from above and not because of something I have done?  AND I don't deserve any of those things?  WOW!

What a wonderful way to celebrate the middle of the week!  Thanks for stopping by!

Blessings...

FS370 ~ Let Friendship Bloom ~

Good morning!  Today's card is for the weekly Featured Stamper challenge at Splitcoast.  The Featured Stamper this week is Mynnette!  She has a wonderful gallery that you can admire HERE.  I chose one of the Floral Sentiment sets from North Coast Creations and went to work.

I stamped the image with Memento's Desert Sand on white card stock and added a rich sentiment with Espresso Truffle.  I die cut the image with a Spellbinder die found in the Office Supplies set and matted it with a distressed brown and vanilla DP.  I added both with dimensional foam to the white CS base and added a deep coffee colored ribbon!  So easy!  I love quick cards that I can add to my stash.  Thanks for reading and stopping by!

Lavender in a Bottle

Good morning!  I hope 2014 is proving to be the best one yet!

A new year gives us a fresh start.  And for me this year has been no exception.  There are some things that I can not change.  Responsibilities at home and at work have increased.   My schedule looks even busier this year than last in many respects.  Even so, I have resolved to make some changes in my life this year.  And one of those changes, or NEED is a craving for a closer relationship to my Savior.  I realized late last year that I was too busy LIVING to really have a LIFE...  so I have prioritized... re-evaluated...

This year I plan to take better care of this temple both physically and spiritually.  I plan on slowing down a bit.  You may not see as many blog posts this year.  This is because I want to hear my Lord in the process...  I want to seek His guidance at every turn particularly when I set paper and ink before me...  I want my crafting to be in honor of our Lord and pleasing in His sight.  I want to enjoy the process and use it as a way to praise Him.  I want the final product to SING His praises!!!

I plan on tuning out the world and listening to news/music that honors Him.  I want to dial down the noise so I can hear that soft voice.  God has so much to tell me, I know, and I have been too busy, too loud, too DISTRACTED to hear it...  And I will share more of this journey with you...  I want to give you my thoughts and prayers as I work on each project...

I want this year to be the best one yet.  And if the Lord tarries, when December 31st rolls around I want to feel I am even closer to HIM...

What do you resolve to do this year?

So for today's project I chose to work with a lovely bottle stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs.  Fitting, as my prayer this year is to be an empty vessel that our Lord can fill...

I stamped and die cut the bottle on Copic compatible paper.  I lightly colored the bottle for a soft clear look and then used ODBD's Antique Labels & Border Die to create the custom label.  A band of black grosgrain ribbon nestles under the label.  I added some glitter glue to the colored lavender for additional sparkle.  A tiny white satin ribbon adds a bit of softness to the design.  I offset the bottle for a bit of whimsy!

Now here are the products I used...

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Blessings to you and yours as we enter this New Year!

~ Manly Plaid + Feminine Doily = One Cool Card ~

I am having so much fun working with this month's Our Daily Bread Designs' release!  (Ok, I have fun EVERY month working with the new stamps!)  My husband swears the smell of new stamps is intoxicating for me!  ;-)

Here's a decidedly frilly project using some new papers in my stash and a whole lotta dies, frills and glue!  It has so many components it reminds me of my Mom's Jam Cake recipe she pulls out every Christmas!  Those cakes are a whole lotta work but boy do they taste FABULOUS!

So here it is, completely calorie free and in honor of my baking analogy...  there's a real honest to goodness doily tucked in there!

and the ODBD products I used...

and last month's

So what do you think?  I love combining blue and white!  Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time...

Welcome to Our Daily Bread Designs' November Release

Welcome to Our Daily Bread Designs' November New Release Hop!

Can you believe it is November?  Wow!  Where has the year gone?  Well, with a new month I get to share some new stamps by Our Daily Bread Designs!  And if you participate in our hop, you can share in the fun too!

One winner will be randomly chosen from one of the designers blog comments to receive a $50 Gift Certificate to the ODBD Store, to be used toward the purchase of ODBD Stamps.  You have until November 2, 2013 at 9:00 p.m. EST to make your comments!  The winner will be posted on the ODBD Blog on November 3rd, so be sure to check back there to see if you won!

Normally, I share a couple of cards with you but this time I had such a hard time choosing...

I picked 3!!!!!  ;-)

This white dream features the new stamp set, Vintage Pattern Ornaments and a new die set, Circle Ornaments.  I embossed the top layer with a snowflake pattern before adding Glimmer Mist and a few pearls.  I stamped the ornament image on white paper with an aqua colored ink and used the Circle Ornaments die set to create a silver bale AND cut the ornament out.  I stamped the sentiment with a watermark ink and embossed it with silver before cutting it with a ribbon like die and adhering.  So cute!

And then I couldn't resist using the Circle Ornaments set AND the new 2013 Christmas Paper Collection for a fun stair step card...

This time, I embossed both ornaments with silver embossing powder.  I created one on black card stock and the other on white.  I used the Circle Ornaments die to create the bale and ornament PLUS the holly!  I love die sets that are SO versatile!  The sentiment was stamped in black ink on some beautiful snowflake paper from Our Daily Bread Designs' 2013 Christmas Paper Collection.  I just love the new paper too!  ***Hint***  The papers coordinate beautifully with many of the ODBD sets you already own!!!!  ;-)

And for my final project, a clean and simple gem using a fun sketch and the new set, The Earth...

I stamped the image, from The Earth set,
in black on white Copic compatible paper and after coloring embossed it in gold.  I used ODBD's Circle Ornaments die to cut the globe out slightly smaller than the image.  I added a few nontraditional colors (pink & green) to add a bit of interest.  I call this my green card...  mock page print, pink & green...  reminds me just how precious our Creator's creation is!

So here's the ODBD products I used today...

Vintage Pattern Ornaments

Circle Ornaments

2013 Christmas Paper Collection

 The Earth

Aren't they amazing???  Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to leave some love on my sisters' blogs!  Remember...  Kelley will be drawing from your comments for a prize!  Thanks again!

A special thank you to Shabby Cottage and Your Next Stamp
for providing our prizes this week!

This week we feature this scripture from Galatians...

I used a sketch for the starting point combining similar DP from a couple of collections.  I printed the scripture sentiment directly on DP before cutting/embossing with an oval die.  I nestled a rhinestone and pearl flourish underneath with some mulberry blossoms and paper punched sprigs.  I added a few vines die cuts as well for interest.  The base panel has been distressed with a tea dye ink also.  So fun!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Until next time...

Blessings...

WAW98 ~ My Refuge ~ Psalm 91:1-2 ~

Welcome!  It's time for more precious scripture and a fabulous challenge at Word Art Wednesday .  Check out the WAW site for all the details including this week's digital scripture image, how to link your creation AND info on our fabulous prizes!

A special thank you to both The Scrapping Center and a returning sponsor, Diane's Daydream Designs for providing prizes for this week's challenge!

This week we feature Psalm 91:1-2...

I printed my sentiment on designer paper and used an office supply style die to cut and emboss it.  I distress the edges to give it more of a notebook feel.  The images (branch and owl) are from Diane's Daydream Designs.  Aren't they darling???  I printed the owl out twice and cut the wings out and popped them up with dimensional foam.  Super cute!

Please keep our dear leader, Karen, in your prayers as she is rehabilitating!  We love ya, Karen!  {{hugs}}

MOJO309 ~ Green Apples ~

This time of year, my mind turns to apples.  Apple cider, apple pie, apple turnovers...  YUM!!!  Nothing says Fall like a trip to the apple orchard!  Granny Smiths are one of my personal favs.  Not everyone likes their tart taste.  I recognize I am in the minority here.  So to honor my favorite fruit I colored these gems green!

and the sketch that inspired it all...

I chose an apple green card stock and kraft paper for my matting.  I colored the image with Copics and highlighted each "apple" with a white gel pen.  I sponged a soft blue ink on the background to mimic sky.  I added a die cut sentiment with just a touch of jute for a rustic touch.

Now I want some pie and ice cream!  :-)

Thanks for stopping by!

A special thank you to both Jelly Park  and Verve Stamps
 for sponsoring this week's challenge!

This week we feature Isaiah 40:31...

This scripture was so timely this week.  I have been struggling with printer issues (thanks to dear hubs for taking SO much time fixing it...)...  The devil has been working overtime for sure!  But when you have God on your side, nothing else really matters.  Right??

I printed the scripture on card stock before cutting with Spellbinders' Labels Seventeen.  I cut another layer (orange) and split it in half before adhering to the back.  It gives it a nice shadow look.  I embossed the DP (a DCWV pack) with a floral EF and added some paper punched leaves and cloth sunflower.  I just had to pull out some fall colors!  Love 'em!  Thanks for stopping by!

Our Daily Bread Designs' September Release

Welcome to the ODBD September New Release!

Kelley will be choosing one random winner from one of the designers blog comments to receive a $50 Gift Certificate to the ODBD Store to be used towards the purchase of stamps!  Now who couldn't use more ODBD stamps?????  You have until September 3rd, 2013 at 9:00pm EST to leave your comments on the designers blogs.  The winner will be posted on the ODBD Blog on September 4th, so be sure to check back to see if you have won.  :-)

I have two cards today featuring this fabulous new release!

The first uses a new set called Jingle Bells...

shown here....

Isn't this image just amazing when colored?  I used Copics to color it and lightly sponged blue ink around it to create a faux sky.  A touch of glitter glue brightens up the snow while layers of red and green card stock make the white die cut layers pop.  I stamped a coordinating sentiment from this set on white card stock and used a ribbon die cut to highlight it.  I nestled it on the bottom so you could see the entire image.  This image is so realistic!  I believe I can even hear those bells ringing!

And my second card today features another fabulous set, Holly Wreath...

shown here...

I just had to color this amazing image with Copics as well!  I colored each leaf to mimic holly with light green edges by layering a yellow green ink first, then a medium tone and finally a dark green in the center.  I then went back over each with the lightest color to blend.  I used a white gel pen to add subtle highlights on the berries.  This image is amazing!  A couple of gold bells added at the top add just the perfect touch.  I embossed the sentiment with gold to match the real jingle bells.

And a few sneek peeks I have shared this week...

this one using  Jingle Bells

and this one using Apples

shown here...

I just love them all!  Don't you?  Now I have Christmas carols running through my head...

Anyone else ready to start their Christmas card stash????

Welcome!  So glad you took a few moments to stop by!  The weekend will be here soon and that means a whole new list of chores to do.  Cleaning, laundry...  you know the drill!  Phooey, guess that means my crafting time will suffer.  ;-)

In the meantime, I have a card to share incorporating both the Mojo Monday sketch and The Shabby Tea Room Challenge...

The quote, by Robert Frost, may be found in Our Daily Bread Designs' Quote Collection 1  shown here...

~ Plant Seeds of Hope ~

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Today I have a clean and simple project, one I completed for some of the "Dirty Girl" challenges at Splitcoast last week.  Imagine my surprise when I received notice that this one was added to the "Honors" gallery at SCS.  I'm utterly blown away!!!!

Since clean and simple is not my normal genre, I am overjoyed to know the challenge hostess' liked it.  Here it is...  a ode to blue, yellow, sunflowers and arrows...  lol...

I based the layout on one of the Dare to Get Dirty sketches last week.  I just love this sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs.  I thought it fit perfectly with the sunflower theme.

Thanks again!  {{hugs}}

SC449 ~ Harvest Blessings to You ~

Thanks for stopping by!  Today I have a fall card to share using one of my favorite sets from Our Daily Bread Designs, Harvest Blessings  ...

I based this design on the Wednesday sketch at Splitcoast...

I stamped the sentiment directly on my DP and hand cut coordinating banners.  I found the blossom at a recent Michaels shopping trip and cut a cream pearl flourish to fit my design.  The leaves (from coordinating DP also) were cut using a Spellbinder die.  Pretty simple really...  I love working with fall colors...  so rich!  Have a wonderful day...

WAW93 ~ Psalm 119:33 ~ Teach Me

Welcome and Happy Wednesday!  It's time for some beautiful scripture and a creative challenge at Word Art Wednesday .  Check out the WAW site for all the details including this week's digital scripture image, how to link your creation AND info on our fabulous prizes!

A big thank you to Fred She Said and Dawn of Faithfully Yours for providing our prizes this week!
Thank you, Thank you!

With so many teachers and students going back to school this week our featured scripture, Psalm 119:33 takes on new meaning...

Today I incorporated an old Mojo Monday sketch with lots of layers and embossing.  The bottom DP layer has a beehive pattern while the green layer has a poppy pattern.  I roughed up the beige layer with my bare hands.  (a great way to take out frustrations...) and inked all edges with a black distress ink.  A left over music pattern adds a bit of melody to the card.  I received the flower on a gift many moons ago and added a cream seam binding bow with tiny pink heart and twine accent.  I love recycling, don't you?  Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time...

Blessings...
