Fun in the Sun Layout

Who's been kicking off summer with some fun already?   If you have, then you are going to want to dive into the Fun in the Sun collection from Doodlebug!  It's perfect for all those pictures that capture you having "fun in the sun" ;).

This is such a fun collection for all your summer needs and it has a great mix of family fun designs and prints.  I hand cut some waves and then used a scissors to distress my edges a bit.  I then laid those out at the bottom of the layout to showcase that I was doing a water themed summer layout.

In addition to the always amazing stickers that Doodlebug makes they also have the new Odds & Ends to up the cute and versatile factor even more!  I used a mixture of stickers and Odds & Ends to create my title! I also combined patterned papers from the collection with my trusty circle punch to add some kick to the background.

Once again the combination of the Odds & Ends and stickers worked great but in this case it was for embellishing.  I also love that the This & That Stickers have been redesigned to include borders.  I used one at the top of my layout.

I can't wait to play with this collection more with new pictures that I take over the summer - I just know you will love playing with it too!

Design Team Announcement!

Two years ago I was delighted to share that one of my dreams in the Paper Crafting world had come true.  I had received a position on the team for SRM Stickers - one of my favorite companies out there!  Today I am thrilled to share that I will be sticking around for a third year with this company that I love so dearly!  As I was preparing this post I noticed that SRM Stickers is the product I have used more than any other manufacturer according to my blog post labels!

I originally came to love SRM Stickers for their stickers but they aren't just stickers!  They have beautiful containers for making all kinds of fun crafts and diy projects.  They also have an amazing clear stamp line which includes my personal favorites - stamps for Bible Journaling (and other faith based crafts of course too).

Last fall I had the opportunity to visit the SRM warehouse and spend some time with Susan - what a treat that was!

I thought today would be the perfect time to share some of my favorite projects that I have made over the last two years with the team!

Instead of journaling directly into my Bible, I prefer to do mine on a separate sheet and slide it into that location as a reminder.  Allows me some freedom in both space and medium!

Layout playing with some SRM stamps and stickers!

Making use of the lace that SRM offers in their product line!  And the border, one of my favorite products - Sticker Stitches!

Another aspect to the SRM line is vinyl - everything from metallic to heat transfer to patterned! Love the stuff!

More Bible Journaling :)

This pocket page layout highlights the sticker stitches again AND was published in one of the last issues of Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine.

I love the way that the stickers from SRM can add little details to complete a layout - just like the sticker stitches and number stickers did here!

If you are a calendar maker than SRM has all kinds of great options for you from mini stickers to big planner stickers and stamps!

Here's a recent planner spread incorporating those stamps and stickers!

This one uses a variety of stickers, twine, punched pieces, and clear tubes - all from SRM!

So there you have it, a little walk through some of my faves!  Be sure to hop over to the SRM Stickers Blog and see the whole new team!

My Creative Scrapbook - Creative Kit projects

I was so excited to work with the Creative Kit from My Creative Scrapbook this month.  It contains a ton of product from Jillibean Soup who happens to be out of Ohio, where we are moving to!  Here's the four layouts I created!

Tons of fussy cutting on this layout - most of the arrows were hand cut!  It was a good exercise in patience and made me sit down and relax for awhile!

More fussy cutting and layering!  This one didn't photograph great - it is my favorite of the bunch in person!

I loved the watercolor circles that came on a paper in this kit (that paper is from Echo Park) so I had to fussy cut some of those too and create some cascading lines with them!

This layout really highlights the various embellishments that came in the kit - from wood veneer to stickers to cardstock frames...such a fun kit!

Mixing & Matching with Doodlebug Design

Mixing and Matching collections is so much fun - especially when using Doodlebug as the colors all match up perfectly!  I decided to put a different spin on the challenge presented by Doodlebug and use  Anchors Aweigh and Under the Sea.  Both have a water theme but one is geared at boys and one at girls.  So I played up that contrast with this "Him & Her" layout!

As you can see there was matching paper in both collections with the whale print.  I really loved that paper so it was awesome to put both color schemes side by side.

I got out a variety of the Cardstock Stickers, Shape Sprinkles, Matte Sprinkles, and Doodlepops,

And of course her side got the same treatment but with the pieces from Under the Sea instead!

Chippers have become a go to staple for me - perfect size for titles and so many colors to choose from!

I always include lots of text on my projects (and not so much journaling) and these stickers from the This & That part of the collections were perfect!

Stay tuned a for lots more Mixing and Matching next week on the Doodlebug Blog!

Little Bride Layout

We've been doing a lot of packing for our big move and when we came across my wedding dress, my daughter wanted to "try it on." So try it on she did and we did a little fashion show and took some very fun pictures! So today I have a layout about my "little bride" using some Paper House Productions supplies.
Bride Layout
Supply List:
BrideCU1
I have been wanting to play with the background paper from the Nature Paper Pad on this for a long time!  The browns in it were a perfect match with my daughter's eyes and hair so I took advantage!  The Bride 3D Stickers are gorgeous and full of detail!  Do you see that pretty tulle on the dress!?!
BrideCU2
Of course she isn't really a bride but she was having fun pretending as little girls do.  So I had to use the fun name plate from the sticker set!
BrideCU3
I needed something special up top too and the Sisters 3D Stickers did the trick.  The colors coordinated nicely with the other pieces in the layout and the "so sweet" was the perfect added touch!
This was a fun nice step away from a lot of my normal things to scrap ;) Hope you enjoyed the results!
