Bella Blvd - Trick or Treat

I am trying to get into the Halloween mood so I did this layout using Bella Blvd's "too cute to spook" line for Practical Scrappers.

I fussy cut this spider and then added liquid glass and jewels for his eyes.

I used small strips of paper to act as stitching for the title.  I also outlined the orange letters and added small green jewels to make them pop.

Thanks for looking!

Sisters - Clear Embellishments

This week on Practical Scrappers, I was challenged to use clear embellishments or transparencies.  I had never used either one of these items so of course I had no clue what I was going to do.  I toyed with the idea of doing something with a transparency but came across these cute bottle cap embellishments at the store and thought of doing this instead.

The pictures are of my little girls who are now 12 and 9 years old.  I drew the flower freehand and then added small circles cut from black and white striped paper.  The bottle caps were placed on top of the larger circles and brightly colored gems were added to the smaller circles. I also added a black gem to the center of the flower to finish the look.

This challenge definitely pushed me out of my box and who knows, I may even try to use a transparency sometime soon.

Thank you for checking out my blog today!

Layout Sketch 12/14

My take on this gorgeous sketch by Liz Chidester for Practical Scrappers.

Aly must have been around 2 in this cute pic of her in coveralls.  She looks so much like Henry does now!

Alyson 10 Months

This is a layout I did for a Practical Scrappers feature using Staples or Paperclips.  I used staples to make the pocket at the top of the page.  I then tucked a tag in the pocket that I had written some of Alysons favorite things at that time.

Smile

What a smile!  I love this picture of Alyson hamming it up for the camera!

The title "Smile" was made using baker's twine dipped in a mixture of white glue and water then shaped and laid to dry on waxed paper.

SWEET

This background was made by using a jar lid to stamp the circles.  Close to My Heart's Purple Haze ink was used on lavender cardstock.  I used my Cricut to cut out the word Sweet and layered with Momenta papers.

Alyson Pre-K

This was already posted to Practical Scrappers and is my first official layout that I have done in ages!!!

The paper is mostly Fancy Pants Designs - Baby Mine Collection.  The flowers were cut using my Cricut and the leaves at the bottom are a felt piece that I have had in my stash for ages.

Title? . . . No title?

Lately, I have been contempating title or no title.  Personally, I don't always mind a layout without a title.  However, I have friends that feel that every page needs a title.  What do you think?

A few more layouts

This is one of my favortie pictures that I have taken of Micaiah.
These two are actually a double layout.  I used vellum and a square punch to fram Alyson's face in the small pictures.  This is an affect that I love.

2010 Calendar

I make a calendar for my Mother In Law every year for her birthday which is in January.  I buy a blank calendar so that I can start it in February and end it in January.  I don't always love the pages because my MIL thinks that the more pictures the better and I tend to be more of a minimalist.  I am hoping to finish it today, but here are a few of the pages so far.

Letter Sticker Challenge

I did this layout of my girls for Practical Scrappers challenge to use up letter stickers. I never use X's any other time so I thought X's and O's was a perfect way to use them up. Of course I didn't actually use letter sticker O's because I don't have as many of those to use up.
