The theme is "Christmas in July" and ohhhhhhhh.. I just loooooooove making Christmascards all year long, so this is just perfect for me :)
As I was browsing through my stamps, this stamp was also the perfect fit for this fortnight's BasicGrey Challenge: Things with wings.

Het thema is "Kerst in juli" en ohhhh... Ik houd ervan om het gehele jaar kerstkaarten te maken (zoals ook hier op m'n blog te zien is ;)), dus dit is gewoon perfect voor mij :)
Toen ik mijn stempels aan het bekijken was, waren deze gebruikte stempels ook zeer geschikt voor BasicGrey Challenges: Things with wings (dingen met vleugels).

And this is the project I made. It was sooooooooo hard to come up with the perfect stamp, but thought it was time to use these ones again :)
So here you have my Christmas in July project...
En dit is het project dat ik heb gemaakt. Het was zooooo lastig om de juiste stempel te vinden, maar dacht dat deze weer aan wat inkt toe was :)
Dus hier is mijn Christmas in July project...

I used the following Spectrum Noir markers:
Ik heb de volgende Spectrum Noir markers gebruikt:
Skin/huid: FS 1,2,3,4,8, CR3 (cheeks)
Hair/haar: GB1,4,6,7
Clothes/kleding: DR1,2,3,4, EB2
NOEL: BT1,3,4,5, EB2
Ground/grond: EB1,2
Shadows/schaduw: BT1,2


I wanted the red and BT-markers having a bit of a brownish color in it, so I went over those colors with EB2. It was just perfect :)
Ik wilde dat de rood- en BT-markers een beetje bruintinten kregen, dus ik ben met de EB2-marker over deze kleuren heen gegaan. Het was gewoon perfect :)

Spectrum Noir's First Ever Blog Hop

And this is the project I like to show you. Have to admit I'm not really a "yellow-type of person", so it was hard to find yellow colors in my paperstash, but yeah... I like the outcome very, very much :)
En dit is het project dat ik jullie graag wil laten zien. Ik moet toegeven dat ik niet echt een "geel-type qua persoon" ben, dus het was een behoorlijke uitdaging om gele papiertjes in m'n papierverzameling te vinden, maar... ik vind dit project toch wel héél erg leuk! :)

And even though I'm not a yellowtype of person, it was really easy to color Tilda.

I used the following colors:
Skin: FS1, FS2, FS3, FS4, FS8, CR3
Hair: TN7, TN8, TN9, EB4
Dress and wings (yellow part): GB2, GB3, GB4, GB5, GB6, blender
Shoes and wings (turquoise part): GT2, GT3, BG1
Ground: BG1, BG2, BG3
Shading around Tilda: BT1, BT2

Hoewel ik geen geelkleurig type ben, was het echt heel gemakkelijk Tilda in te kleuren.
Ik heb de volgende kleuren gebruikt:
Huid: FS1, FS2, FS3, FS4, FS8, CR3

Haren: TN7, TN8, TN9, EB4
Jurk en vleugels (geel): GB2, GB3, GB4, GB5, GB6, blender
Schoenen en vleugels(turquoise): GT2, GT3, BG1
Grond: BG1, BG2, BG3
Shaduw rondom Tilda: BT1, BT2

I'm always working from light to dark and back to light again. I think it's the easiest way, but hee... the best part of it all is you can also start with the darkest color going to the lightest one. Just what you feel most comfortable with.
I also used my BG1 for making the shoes and wings (turquoise parts) just a little less turquoise. Love this pen, specially when not using bright colors in your patterned papers. You can really soften your color by coloring this one as last.
Ik werk altijd van licht naar donker en weer terug naar de lichtste kleur. Ik denk dat dit de gemakkelijkste weg is, maar... het mooie hiervan is dat je zelf kunt beslissen of je dit ook doet óf dat je werkt van donker naar licht en weer terug naar donker. Net wat je zelf het prettigste vindt werken.
Ik heb ook mijn BG1 marker gebruikt om de schoenen en vleugels (turquoise gedeelte) een beetje minder turquoise te maken. Ik ben echt dol op deze marker, vooral als je niet al te felle kleuren in je papier hebt zitten. Je kunt dan de kleur net wat minder fel maken.

Papertrey Ink January bloghop

Sorry for my long, very long, absence, but have (and still am) ill.
Terrible sickness, pain in my ear, throat and during the last couple of days my back as well. Luckily it's getting better every day, but not that great though... ah well.. there are worse things in life!

Het spijt me voor m'n lange afwezigheid, maar was (en ben nog steeds) ziek.
Verschrikkelijk misselijk, oorpijn, keelpijn en als klap op de vuurpijl ook rugpijn. Gelukkig gaat het iedere dag steeds beter, maar nog niet zo goed als ik zou willen... ach ja, er zijn ergere dingen in het leven!


Back to topic... there's a Papertrey Ink bloghop going on at the moment and there's a challenge involved as well, which is the following:

This month, in honor of the new year, we are challenging you to pick your favorite project from 2011 and share it with all of us! Er is een nieuwe Papertrey Ink bloghop.
Deze maand dagen ze je uit om je favo project van 2011 uit te kiezen en te laten zien. En om een stapje verder te gaan, word je ook uitgedaagd om een tweede kaart te maken die gebaseerd is op je favo project.




So... here's one of my fave projects of last year. Really love the simplicity of the card, but so love the effect it gives.
Send this card last Christmas to some family and hopefully they have enjoyed the card as much as I liked making it!
Hier is één van m'n favo projecten. Ik houd van de simpelheid van deze kaart, maar het geeft zo'n geweldig effect.
Heb deze kaart afgelopen Kerst naar familie gestuurd en hopelijk hebben ze hiervan genoten.

And this is what I made of it this time. Totally different, but still the same shape and stitches :)
Used my newest paper (I'm already in love with this white cardstock!!! Loooooooove it!!), dies and stamps on this project (oh... I just looooooooove combining them!) and popped the image a bit with some 3d-foam.
At this moment this card will be heading to Canada :)

En dit is wat ik er deze keer van heb gemaakt. Iets totaal anders, maar nog steeds dezelfde vorm en stiksels :)
Heb m'n nieuwste papier gebruikt (ben op slag verliefd op dit geweldige witte cardstock!!!), dies en stempels en heb het plaatje met wat 3d-tape verhoogd.
Op dit moment is deze kaart op weg naar Canada :)

Hi there!

There's a bloghop over at Nichole's blog and I just couldn't resist to participate.

I just loooooooooooooved the inspirational photo and well... uhhmm... it defenately made my creativity flow.
When I saw the photo, I thought about: home (well...the photo totally does this justice), warmth (all the cushions and plaids), cozy (all those cushions and plaids), friendly (the colors)... and those words remind me of Christmas, so what I did was making a Christmascard for this bloghop :)
Totally thinking out of the box, but well... hopefully it's good ;)

I made the card with one of the challenges from the Stamp-A-Faire I did as well: challenge 8. You can find my card at this post.

Oh my, oh my... do I have some news for you and it's fab! Plus I totally love it!!
Wags 'n Whiskers are having a new release this Friday, 20th May!
And wow... they have some fab images. It will be a digi release this time and I really love the images of this release.

Today and tomorrow we're previewing the images and this Friday we will have a bloghop :)
You really won't be disappointed, cos the DT has made some AMAZING projects to showcase.

But today is the day... day 1, for the previews and here you have my card:

Made this card with the digi image called "A deer friend". I knew I had a sentiment stamp of it, so it was a matter of seconds to find it and use it :)

Butterfly blog linky party

Hi there!

First of all I wanna take a little time here to tell you my thoughts and prayers are with the people of Japan after the terrible earthquake and tsunami. No words can describe the feelings I have after seeing the terrible pictures on the news.

Second of all I'd like to welcome you to the Butterfly Blog Linky Party. Eva is organizing this and it should be loads of fun.

All you have to do is link up your butterfly project to her blog. There's even some candy involved (and who doesn't like this eh??!!).

Here are my projects... yes, projectS as I made 2 cards. I wanted to make a SU one and a Magnolia one, so here they are:

First of all my SU project. I'm sooooooooo in love with this colorcombo! I'm totally loving red (it's my fave color) and in combination with these 2 other colors it really is classy :)

All products used (cardstock, stamps, ink, ribbon and butterfly embosslits die) are SU.
Stamped the flowers and diecut the butterflies and put them on top of the card. Really easy card to make, but soooooo love it!

This card is also playing in the following challenges:

- Create with Connie and Mary: Color Challenge

Next project is a Magnolia card using a stamp I bought, I think, 2 years ago. I so love it! Hmmm... I love (almost) all Magnolia stamps! :)

Anyways... here's my 2nd and last project, using Tilda as butterfly-stamp.

This card is playing the following challenges:

- A Magnolia Challenge: Creation with Magnolia image

I used the Tia and Cuddles Rain or Shine stampset which you can purchase overhere.
Seriously... I totally love those stamps.. perfect rubber, perfect inking and perfect image after stamping it. Perfectly mounted... just the perfect kind of stamps! :)
