Fun in the Sun with Scrapmatts

Fun in the Sun with Scrapmatts

Greetings fellow creative peeps.
Welcome to a very wet and miserable day here in Perth.
Great time for scrapbooking.
I have been super busy over the last month organising my first ever Scrapbooking Retreat.
It hasn't left me much time to be creative.
These layouts were the only pages I managed over the weekend.
They are quite minimal but they do showcase the Scrapmatts chipboard.
So here are my efforts this month for you.

First one is called

Fun in the Sun.

This layout was inspired by a friend's layout.
I have used the new range of Maja papers called Denim and Girls.
The photo's are of myself and my fur baby Koko enjoying the sunshine on a recent trip to the
Pink Lake near Geraldton.

This is the second layout I have completed using up some old paper scraps.

A Handful of Happiness

These are the pieces I have used on the layouts.

Thanks for stopping by and please check out the Scrapmatts website

The brighter the better right?

I'm currently on a real bright layout binge 😊

The new 'Happiness' papers from Coco Vanilla are NOT helping the situation! ðŸ˜†

These gorgeous painterly papers are just divine and perfect for my family photos as usually with our large family every colour under the sun is represented in every photo.

Here I've used some chipboards to blend in with the bouquets on the papers. This was a very quick and easy layout to put together as I just used some markers to colour the floral chippies.

The good thing about these whimsical papers is that I didn't need to be too precious about my colouring skills, I just threw the colour on and stuck them down, knowing they would blend easily with the arty papers :)

LAYOUT 1

Mind you ... I couldn't resit putting a little Crystalina KindyGlitz
on the flowers as they were drying.

I have been dying to use these 'wings' chipboards and was stoked to find this pic that looked so cute with them tucked into it.

I know that ideally we find embellishments to enhance our pages, but sometimes the whole page is driven by one single embellishment ... like this one 😊

LAYOUT 2

I added circles to the background to give some texture and interest and to mimic a cloud like feel.

Feathers to go along with the theme were a given! LOL

I must say, I feel like its a pretty good bonus that we get the title thrown in there with the wings :)

STEP CARD

And I have one card to share with you also... a step card capitalising on this awesome star chipboard set ... I just loved how much product was included in this one packet!! Easily enough for me to embellish 3 different cards.

My big hint for colouring these tiny little stars though is to do it while they are still sitting in their chipboard casing as it makes it HEAPS easier.

And thats my share for the day over and done with.
Thanks for staying with me all the way to the end of the post 😊 as a reward here's my favourite meme at the moment... currently my screen saver, just incase my husband ever looks at my computer. 😜

Cheers from Kel ðŸ˜Š

Something Old is New by Danielle Vertigan

When you come full circle it can be a beautiful thing......
Every Crafters will have had that moment when you look at your project and its just not happening.
Its not coming together...
It can be both challenging and heartbreaking!
You've spent so much time on it...
Used so much product on it...
No matter which way you turn it, its not coming together?
Then the dilemma????
WHAT DO YOU DO????
ME???? I'm a hoarder. I struggle to throw anything out when I craft.
The tiniest scrap could be something???
Couldn't it?

So I started with an Arch Window Frame 07 CB4038
Its a piece of loved but to beautiful to use!!
We all know that feeling, It has to be just right.

So I opened my bag of goodies and started to flick....
Stencil, Cardstock... What do I want?
And there it was....
This background was once a source of pain.
I had stamped through a stencil. Water Coloured it.
Layered patterned paper, Applied texture paste, Spritzed it and more water colour.
It wasn't happening.
I gesso'd over the top still not happening and finally packed it away!
Its been that way a long, long time never to be thought of again.
Today I have come full circle.....

I turned it. Layered my frame on it and immediately knew what photos I wanted!
I love that with the frames it doesn't have to be all photos, the texture from the hessian is perfect.
some circles with my tape rolls as guides. Perfect, simple and easy.

Then to layer.
I think by far my favourite pieces at the moment is anything nature inspired.
Here I've used
CB5165 Lavender 01
CB5166 Leaf Spray 15
I've kept it simple with chalk ink and I couldn't be happier with the results.

The feathers add a soft touch
Today I'm working with CB5116 Feathers 01 in White mist.
I have also chosen to leave them be, they are just perfect as they are.

Don't be afraid to layer the inks and add another dimension.

My next Share is Bright, Pink and Pretty
Plus who doesn't love string circles
CB5114 String Circles 01
Here I have inked them in white and then used a silver embossing powder.

I love the confetti look of this stencil.
Its quickly becoming a favourite....
ST1028

I've also added detail by using a White gel pen over my Colour Blast Colour Paste.

These Butterflies are Gorgeous and come with a bundle on the sheet for you to play with
CB4010 Butterflies 03
I've layered the 3 sizes and coloured them using Shimmer Pots.
They look stunning and really pop off the page.

I twist of shabby, a touch of ink, some stamping and journaling...
and I think we are there!
