For those of you that have visited us or lived in our town, you know that I think we live in a small town. Compared with the large metropolitan where I grew up, it feels very small at times. Our town is about 50,000 with the surrounding area containing another 50,000 people for a grand total of 100,000 people. Our options are limited for shopping and eating out, and if we want to score some major retail deals, we need to travel to the "big city" 75 miles away.
Despite the current size, it does continue to grow- with some repetition of restaurants and a few new ones making their way to our part of the state. Currently, here's the doubling we've seen take place. We now have 2 McDonald's, 2 Burger Kings, 2 Dominos, 2 Pier 49 Pizzas, 3 Subways, 2 Arby's, 2 Indian restaurants, 2 Papa Murphy's, and 2 Walmarts. Yes, that's right...our "small" town is big enough to have 2 Walmarts: one on the north end of town and now a new one on the south end of town. We were hoping Target would make it's way to the south end, but Walmart has secured its place on both ends of the city.
We are also waiting for Walgreen's to open soon along with Texas Roadhouse. We cannot wait for Walgreen's rebate items each month and good ol' Texas BBQ...yum...brisket! We also have a new rootbeer pub that opened in town that brews the fresh drink daily and also serves homemade Italian gelato.
It's not all bad living in a "small" town if there are a variety of food options to try. We're still waiting on a commercial airline service. We'll see if that ever happens while we live here!

Walgreens doesn't do rebates anymore. They now print some "money off at WG" coupons at the register when you buy certain items, instead.
Yes, I heard it was something new like register rewards, but the essence is still the same as rebates, right? Buy a product and get the full value or an amount back.
