Sundays
There are not many sleep ins and afternoons lying on the couch reading since little Matilda joined us, instead we try to go for lots of walks and be outside on the weekends. We chat and walk and try to get her to sleep and if we are lucky she is asleep when we pass the nice cafe in our neighbourhood, so we can actually sit down and really enjoy the coffee & a piece of cake. It is the small things these days ...

Tide Café
The Tide café is a wonderful place in the heart of Ottensen with great food and drinks and a wonderful interior. I spent many hours in Summer with dear friends outside the café, drinking some rhubarb juice and eating some of their delicious cakes or other great snacks.

Customs Brew Bar - Wellington
When you walk through some of the streets in Wellington you can smell the amazing smell of roasted coffee beans. There are so many wonderful cafes in this city and we were lucky to try a few while we were there last month. The photos are taken at Customs Brew Bar with the most friendly staff! :)

Mina-no-ie - A cafe in Melbourne
Cafe Mina-no-ie is one of these places I could spend all day. On our trip to Melbourne we went one morning for breakfast. We just sat there with the beautiful light coming through the big windows, the conversations here and there, watched how the staff prepared the food in the open kitchen and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. I had a delicious toasted piece of fruit toast with ricotta, honey & nutmag and some green tea.
I had already taken some photos of this place a few years back but now they got a wonderful corner with magazines and zines and Cecilia Fox is showing some pots in the most wonderful way.
Go and check it out when you happen to be in Melbourne.
> Have a look at Trixi's wonderful Copenhagen photos and Mel's sunrise in Sydney. I am always amazed how much inspiration and a feeling of happiness photographs can give me.

Random
The last roll of film I took is full of random little shots.
I remember, that it took my quiet long to get the roll full and now when I look through the photos from different days and moments, it is so nice to think back to all of them. These two where taken on a Saturday when we went to Newtown to have a coffee at the Black Star Bakery, an amazing little cafe which makes super tasty pastries. After we got our sugar kick we went for a long walk around the neighbourhood, this is when I took the other photo. Yes, love often is the answer :)
Hope you all have a great weekend.

Mina-no-ie - Melbourne
Melbourne you are full of good places.
Mina-no-ie belongs to the same people who run CIBI and you can tell right away on the beautiful food you get there. I had a rhubarb crumble and a lemon and ginger tee and oh both were so delicious!
What were you up to this weekend?

Monk Dharma Bodhi - Melbourne
Monk Dharma Bodhi is a wonderful cafe in St Kilda where I caught up with Belinda and Elizabeth for a meal when I was in Melbourne the other weekend.
I had a beautiful lentil-veggie soup of which I didn't take a photo but was just beautiful with all its spices on this chilly day.
After getting my two films back I shot down there I realized that I took lots of photos of the places we ate. So I might show you another cafe in my next post and then just some photos of the rest of the weekend.

favourite café
We are so lucky that we have a café in our neighbourhood which has everything I like about a good café, amazing coffee and food, super friendly staff and a nice atmosphere to hang out there with friends or on your own reading in a book.
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. It is again an amazing sunny Winter weekend here in Sydney. We will go for a little bush hike to the Royal National Park tomorrow. Can't wait to get out of the city and we might even see whales. So exciting.
Two great songs for you which are hard to get out of my head...this one from a new band from Perth which we saw yesterday and that lovely one.

this and that
It is Monday already. The weekend went by so fast, don't you think.
I hope you had some lovely few days...
The weather was so beautiful here in Sydney yesterday that I went out for a long walk, sat in the park, read and realized that the city is getting greener and greener and also gets this special glow.
#1+2 Again the great Single Origin Café, apart from the coffee they do amazing lunch, too.
#3 some dots
#4+5 Pictures I took yesterday while walking through Paddington. I loved the glow of the trees in the streets there.
#6 I got myself a little something in this pretty store. An analog reminder in form of a wooden pear. It can carry little notes.
#7 A sewing project I am working on....

Random
Here are a few images from my last two days.
#1-4 I was out for a walk in Elizabeth Bay - saw a great house wearing a 'green eyemask' and a cobweb which looked like it was lots of work:) Walking there I stumbled over a nice wooden chair, standing there with all sorts of other stuff ready to end up in the trash. I took it with me, cleaned it, oiled the wood and put new fabric on it. I already love it.
# 5/6 I also wanted to show you two of the little bags I made for friends. They are so easy to make and it is so much fun to put fabric together and sew it.
# 7/8 I like how those two images sort of fit together. They look so much like Spring. The rich green, brown and light pink. I saw this tree full with berries today, the berries will turn darker and you can actually eat them. You just need to be faster than the birds.
9-12 A few more shots I took around Surry Hills. If you are in Sydney, make sure you have a coffee at Single Origin. They roast their own beens and you can really taste it. Such good coffee.
#13 A snack I just made. I am trying to track down a store here at which you could actually buy goat cheese with a rind.
How are you this week?
