A Happy Little Adventure | Echo Park Petticoats and Pinstripes | Tarrah McLean

Hi Sassy Scrappers!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you and today I have a new layout to share using the awesome Petticoats and Pinstripes collection by Echo Park!

One of my favourite papers from the Petticoats and Pinstripes collection is that yellow globe paper. It is actually the 'B' side of the Lad Plaid paper! I decided to cut out a white globe cut file design to place over the top of the yellow globes. I like how the white really pops off the yellow. I machine stitched around the circle of the globe to add texture and to help secure it down to the paper.

I decided to scrap a photo of myself and my eldest son while on holidays a few years ago. I love this photo of us! I cut 2 papers from the 3' x 4' journal cards paper to layer under my photo and then placed the photo over on the bottom left of the page. I also tucked in one of the bingo cards from the Bingo Cards paper above the photo. The wood veneer pieces I got this month are super cute! I added one of the arrows to the bottom of the photo.

My title consists of mainly stickers from the sticker sheet and I placed on the right side of the page to balance out the bottom left size.  I also added another of the wood veneer arrows next to the word 'Little'. I added one of the layered stickers down near the base of the globe design and also put one of the border strip stickers on top of the base of the globe. Lastly I added some splatters of black mist and the date stamp and that finished mt layout for this week.

Thanks for stopping by the Sassy blog today! I hope I have inspired you to check out the Sassy store for boy collections!

Happy creating!

Escape | Simple Stories Travel Notes | Tarrah McLean

It's Tarrah McLean back with you and today I am sharing my last layout using the awesome Simple Stories Travel Notes collection.

I have really enjoyed creating with this collection! I love to document my travels as I have been very fortunate to travel to loads of places already with hopefully many more to come!

I used up the papers I still had by layering some vertically and some horizontally. I also sized one of the papers to use as a photo mat. I tucked lots of the stickers in and around my photo too. The palm tree and pineapple wood veneer pieces are so cute don't you think?

Check out the Sassy store for the awesome Travel Notes collection and so much more!

Happy creating!

Live Your Adventure | Simple Stories Travel Notes | Tarrah McLean

Happy Friday Sassy Scrappers!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you today to share another travel themed layout using the awesome Simple Stories Travel Notes collection!

I will be honest, when I first saw this map paper, I was a little intimidated by it! I knew I wanted to use it but I was stuck for ideas! I picked it up to use it but then put it down and keep doing that for a few days until I came up with the idea to handstitch a path from Australia to Europe!

I had picked out this small photo to use when we visited Paris last year! It was my second time going but my hubby and boys had never been. We shared a special time in front of the Eiffel Tower as she lit up and sparkled late at night! It is so spectacular to see, so of course we caught it on camera!

I kept the embellishing to a minimum so that it didn't detract from the background and I was really happy with how it turned out! The handstitching was done using 3 pieces of white embroidery cotton together.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Make sure to check out the Sassy Scrappers store for this collection and all the other amazing goodies in store!

Happy creating!

Explore | Simple Stories Travel Notes | Tarrah McLean

Happy Friday Sassy Scrappers!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you today to share another travel themed layout using the awesome Simple Stories Travel Notes collection!

I decided on a circle design this week and went ahead and punched out 1 inch circles from the paper with all the circles! I placed them down with liquid adhesive and then machine stitched through them all by going around in one big circle...

I love that large 'Explore' title from the chipboard sticker pack, that easily became my title, placing it at the bottom of my photo amongst some other embellishments also.

The itinerary tag has some extra journalling on it so I left the adhesive off the middle of my photo so I was able to tuck it in behind my photo.....I added some twine to the top of the tag for some texture.

The wood veneer globe was a little bit plain just on its own so I added a sticker to liven it up a little bit!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Make sure to check out the Sassy Scrappers store for this collection and all the other amazing goodies in store!

Love Paris | Shimelle | Tarrah McLean

It's Tarrah McLean back with you sharing another travel themed layout! I have used a mixture of Shimelle's Go Now Go and Starshine collections on this layout!

I decided to cut a title out from some red cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo. I then machine stitched through it to add some detail and to help keep it adhered! The cork 'Love' forms the beginning of my title, I overlapped the 'Love' onto a piece of the ephemera for a fun look!

I just love the transparent acrylic pieces of ephemera included in the Shimelle collections, they are perfect for adding embellishments near and around photos without taking away the focus of the photo! I find the best way to adhere these is to staple them down with my Tim Holtz tiny attacher!

Thank you so much for stopping by the Sassy blog today! Be sure to check out the Sassy store for all your scrapbooking needs!
