A Boy and His Dog | Echo Park Petticoats and Pinstripes | Tarrah McLean

Hi Sassy Scrappers!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you, today marks a rather sad day for me as it is my last project and blog post as a designer for Sassy Scrappers. I have loved every minute of being on the Sassy Scrappers team but unfortunately life has got rather busy for me now and I need to take a break from some design teams. Never fear though I will still be scrapbooking my hear out!
Thank you so much Olga for being the most amazing and sweet person to 'work' for. I will always hold both you and Sassy close to my heart.

So today I have a new layout to share using the awesome Petticoats and Pinstripes collection by Echo Park!

As I was getting to the last of the collection, it was a bit of a struggle to get some elements that would work together for this page. This inspiration for this page came from the quote on the paper at the top. I decided I would include a photo of my youngest son with his Grandparents dog. These 2 absolutely love each other to bits. They are both the same age and can't get enough of each other.

The title just had to be 'A Boy and His Dog', the 12 x 12 sticker sheet was perfect to create my title. I also added one of the wood veneer titles that went with the theme. Its always an adventure when these 2 are together! I also added the last layered sticker that I had left and that is the one that says 'Champion'. I reckon they both think this of each other! A few other phrase stickers and some of the hexagon wood veneer shapes were some of the final touches along with a few splatters of black mist and the date stamp.
Thanks for stopping by the Sassy blog today! I hope I have inspired you to check out the Sassy store for boy collections!

Thank you so much for your support over the last few years, I will still be around the scrapbooking world, so I will see you around!

Happy creating!

I Love You This Much | Echo Park Petticoats and Pinstripes | Tarrah McLean

Hi Sassy Scrappers!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you and today I have a new layout to share using the awesome Petticoats and Pinstripes collection by Echo Park!

The Stripes paper from this collection is one of my favourites so I decided I would use part of it to back behind a cut file title. I cut the title out from white cardstock and then backed it with the stripe paper. I then chose the 'B' side of the Bingo paper with the red background to create a contrast between the 2.

Once the cut file was backed I added some craft foam to underneath the title and then adhered it to the red background paper. I chose a smallish size photo to add as the title is quite a big element, I didn't want to overcrowd the page too much. I adhered the photo at the top of the title and then added some of the journal cards to the left of my photo. I did overlap the title on top of the photo and the journal cards.

I added some embellishments on top of the cut file like a flair button from my stash and some wood veneer pieces too. The fabric heart was also from my stash, this was added to the right of  the bottom of the title. A couple of the stickers from the sticker sheet and the layered stickers were also added and they were perfect for this layout.

Boys | Echo Park Petticoats and Pinstripes | Tarrah McLean

Hi Sassy Scrappers!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you and today I have a new layout to share using the awesome Petticoats and Pinstripes collection by Echo Park!

This photo of my boys is one of my all time favourites! This collection was perfect to document it, all the elements were just right and went so well with the design of my page. I started off with the 'B' side of the Retro Slides paper  I love those spots! To break up all the spots, I used the strip that says 'This Boy is My Hero' from the Border Stripes paper and placed it towards the top of the page. I also tucked in a piece of the red from the same paper above the title one.

To mat my photo, I chose 2 papers from the 4' x 6' journal cards paper and also layered a smaller piece of red either side of the photo. Once I had my photo adhered to the journal cards, I added some twine from my stash for some added texture and tied it in a bow to the left side of the photo.

The flair button I have added is from my stash and it says, 'Hello there, Handsome' very fitting for my boys! I also added the layered 'Boys' banner sticker underneath my photo. This became my title. I took one of the border stickers from the 12' x 12' sticker sheet and trimmed it down to add below the photo mat. I also added another of the layered stickers underneath the border sticker.  Lastly I adhered a wood veneer arrow near the right of the photo and also scattered some of the wood veneer hexagons too. I also added the date stamp of the date that the photo was taken.

A Happy Little Adventure | Echo Park Petticoats and Pinstripes | Tarrah McLean

Hi Sassy Scrappers!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you and today I have a new layout to share using the awesome Petticoats and Pinstripes collection by Echo Park!

One of my favourite papers from the Petticoats and Pinstripes collection is that yellow globe paper. It is actually the 'B' side of the Lad Plaid paper! I decided to cut out a white globe cut file design to place over the top of the yellow globes. I like how the white really pops off the yellow. I machine stitched around the circle of the globe to add texture and to help secure it down to the paper.

I decided to scrap a photo of myself and my eldest son while on holidays a few years ago. I love this photo of us! I cut 2 papers from the 3' x 4' journal cards paper to layer under my photo and then placed the photo over on the bottom left of the page. I also tucked in one of the bingo cards from the Bingo Cards paper above the photo. The wood veneer pieces I got this month are super cute! I added one of the arrows to the bottom of the photo.

My title consists of mainly stickers from the sticker sheet and I placed on the right side of the page to balance out the bottom left size.  I also added another of the wood veneer arrows next to the word 'Little'. I added one of the layered stickers down near the base of the globe design and also put one of the border strip stickers on top of the base of the globe. Lastly I added some splatters of black mist and the date stamp and that finished mt layout for this week.

Reach for the Stars | Echo Park Petticoats & Pinstripes | Tarrah McLean

Hi Sassy Scrappers!

It's Tarrah McLean back with you and today I have a new layout to share using the awesome Petticoats and Pinstripes collection by Echo Park!

This week the inspiration for my layout came from the blue Cars and Stars paper that I chose for the background. I really like using darker backgrounds to change things up a little. The stars on the paper gave me the idea to use the title 'Reach for the Stars' and I had just enough of the letters to make the word stars without having the same colour together.

On the left of the photo, I added some of the Rocket Ships paper as well as some of the B side of the Bingo cards paper. I also tucked in a white tag from stash and added a piece of twine through the hole. The flair button 'Boy Stuff' is also from my stash. On the right hand side of the photo, I mainly embellished with stickers from the sticker sheet however I did add one of the awesome layered stickers

Lastly I added some of the wood veneer pieces to enhance the page a bit more and the word 'Strong'  from the washi tape roll. I really like how they look against the dark blue paper. I also added the date stamp of the date the photo was taken and I splattered some white mist around as well.
