teacher thank you cards

hi there!
today I have a trio of cards up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog!

here's a little secret...I actually made 9...yes 9 of this kind of card! ha! I originally made 6 for all of my boys' teachers, end of year thank yous, but then I sent the in to school without taking pictures! lol! so I made 3 more! lol! but that's how easy and fun these are to make!

ok, so I did lots of alcohol inking! so FUN!
I used aquas, blues and even a pop or two of purples! (and of course, some splatters of gold!)

once the backgrounds were dry, I used the Seashells Stencil and some white embossing paste to add texture and a little fun to the sides of the card! amazing!
then I used the new Seashell Roundabout stamp set and heat embossed the phrase onto some aqua cardstock.

then I used the Banner Trio Die Set to die cut out the phrases!!
honestly these cards didn't take too long to make, and I loved every part! I'm not usually a fan of mass producing cards, but sometimes, the occasion calls for it, and it's fun!

teacher thank you card

hello there!
today I have this fun, thank you card for a teacher up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog!

I love this! there's nothing better than a rainbow against a bright blue background, if you ask me! it's the perfect backdrop for a thank you card!
I combined images from Newton Dreams of New York and Newton's Book Club! those kitties are just the cutest ever! they were all called with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then fussy cut out.

I used Distress Oxide Inks in Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon and Cracked Pistachio to ink blend the background! then I used some white embossing paste and the Cascading Stars Stencil for some texture.

lastly, I heat embossed the sentiment from Classy Teachers onto some black cardstock, to finish it off.

today I have this card and video up on the Lawn Fawn blog! so exciting!

I wanted to create a card for my son's teachers, and they just happen to be virtual, so I thought it would be a great idea to make the thank you card specific to virtual! so fun!

I started by coloring the images from Virtual Friends, My Silly Valentine and Den Sweet Den with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then fussy cut them out! I also added white gel pen details to most of the images.
I used Distress Inks in Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio to ink blend the background, then I splattered some water on top!

for the 'thanks' part of the custom phrase, I die cut out the letters with Oliver's Stitched ABC's, then ink blended some rainbow colors on top! I also splattered some water on top! and they were popped up with foam tape!
I used Harold's ABC's to create the custom phrase on the Fancy Wavy Banners!

finally, I used Violet's ABC's to finish the phrase! and of course, every teacher's desk needs an apple!
