so here's the card i made for the latest challenge at the sweet stamp shop! :) this challenge is all about embossing! which, i love to do! :)
i used the stamp set 'across the miles', which is also one of my favorites! i heat embossed the large image onto some new (to me!) abroad paper! i love it because the paper is a map, and i thought, perfect!! :) ha ha!
the states are also popped up, to match the level of the thickers, which i staggered with red hearts! i also used those same red hearts to pin point the locations of us on the map!
the thickers are on some teal washi tape that i staggered this way and that at the bottom of the base - which is just like a corkboard - LOVE!!
so that's it!
hope it made you smile!
enjoy!
i was able to get some crafty time in both days this weekend! and it was awesome! :)
on saturday i skype-scrapped with my bff - danielle from girlracer scrap! it was awesome, and long overdue!
on sunday i was able to make two more cards when all the menn look naps! score!
so anyway, one of the cards i made today was for the current challenge going on over at the alley way stamps! the inspiration picture is all about fall! and i decided to use the colors and spin it! :)
i used some of the free digi stamps that the alley way stamps offers, and the awesome sentiment, that i can't get enough of! :)
digital stamps are NOT my strong suit, but i love those little mushrooms, and i thought they would be perfect to replicate the pumpkin shapes! :)
the mushrooms and snails are paper pieced. the snails are also popped up for dimension.
i really like this card, because i really paid the most attention to the inside of the card! which is a total 180 from what i usually do! :) and i like the little peekaboo circle, too! :)
so that's it!
thanks for looking!
enjoy!
i was instantly inspired by the colors at the playdate cafe this week! instantly!! lol!!
i had a lot of ideas floating around in my head, but i went with this clean and simple idea (to start?!). :)
i used two paper smooches stamp sets, 'falling for you' and 'vegtastic'. i paper pieced the little bat, and everything else was fussy cut. i popped up the heart and bat for dimension; there's something about a single heart in a word bubble that i LOVE!! i've done it on other cards, and i think i'll just keep doing it! lol!
i used some pink washi tape and twine to act as the little fella's 'perch'. and i layered the heart under the sentiment for a little zing. :) ha!
so that's it! it's a really straight forward card. but i do think it's super fun (thank you colors!!) and really sweet!
hope you are getting crafty too!
enjoy!
woo-hoo! another week means another challenge over at lawnscaping!
this one is all about getting texty!
A
so i made a card (sorry, it's another christmas one!) with some fun, non traditional colors, and lots of heat embossing!
the teal background of the card is from the basic grey jovial paper pack. and i love it! it's teal, and has text, and is distressed! beautiful! :)
i used the snowflakes from lawn fawn's 'frosties' stamp set, which were heat embossed.
the sentiment was made using 'harold's abc's' (my old friend!) and 'quinn's abc's'. i cut away part of the card stock, and put some clear acetate behind it, to make it look like the bottom of the card is floating, and connected only by the word bright! i love that effect!
i didn't have any yellow embossing powder, so i heat embossed the 'making spirits' in white and then colored the letters with my yellow marker! :) the word bright was also heavily glittered with some picket fence stickles!
so that's it! super texty, super cheerful, and super fun! (in my opinion!) :)
enjoy!
i am loving this card i made for two amazing challenges!
the challenege over at a blog named hero is all about tags! yay!
and one of the challenges at the moxie fab world is all about incorporating the gallon/quart/pint lesson! this is a fabbie technique that i have really taken to heart lately because i think it adds so much to a card (but in a subtle way!)!
i'm still trying to sprinkle some christmas card crafty time now, while i have the chance, to make each christmas card special (and so i don't feel rushed when i procrastinate too long!) ha ha! and when i heard tags, i thought - christmas present!
i used an older hero arts set for the cute little kitty image! i paper pieced him and popped him up for fun!
i added some basic grey tiny type (i was inspired by my bff at girlracer scrap who LOVES tiny type!) to the tag and wrapped some lawn fawn twine around 'randomly'! it makes me giggle, because it's sort of silly!
oh yeah, and i spritzed some mr huey's white onto the red cardstock to add an abstract snowy feel! :)
so that's it! hope it made you smile too!
enjoy!
i have to start my christmas cards early every year! i like to make unique ones for each person, so it take a while! and i like to give myself time! since i love to make cards and get inky, i don't mind, and i love adding personal touches! :)
today i have my first christmas card of 2012! lol and it's super fun!
i made it for the designer drafts challenge over at paper smooches sparks!
the sketch is awesome! and it just called for me to use the tall, cool as a cucumber snowman from the swanky snowdudes stamp set! :)
i decided to paper piece everything in non seasonal colors because i love that feel! this card feel like the snowdude was out in the sun in a little too long, and got a bit of a tan! lol!
for the scarf, i used some washi tape and a button to give it some uniqueness! :)
the snowman and the little bird are both popped up for dimension. i added some pearls and fussy cut hearts to the snowflakes because i thought it would add some fun flair to the traditional snowflakes! :) ha ha! i don't know, it was late when i made this card last night, so it may be a little out there!!
nevertheless, it's fun, and it makes me smile! :)
enjoy!
i made this card for the 2nd weekly challenge over at the sweet stamp shop! the challenge was to be use this album cover for inspiration:
easy!!! LOVE the colors, and love the band - done! :)
i used one of my favorite sweet stamps - sentimental birds! love the birds on a wire!
i heat embossed them onto some super fab teal woodgrain cardstock, he he! then i colored in some of the birds and used some icicle stickles to make them really glitter!
the sentiment was stamped on some coordinating washi tape (hello obsession!), so fun!
i had to make this card for my hubby - our anniversary is in less than two weeks: 7 years! eek! :)
happy thursday - almost friday!
enjoy!
i made this card last night! and i LOVE it!
the idea just hit me! so i even stayed up late (later!!) than usual to get it done! :)
it's for the lawnscaping sketch challenge! i know, there's only a few more hours left, but i just had to make the card in my head!
i really like the color combination, and the i thought it was perfect for the sketch! :)
i used lawn fawn's 'critters in the burbs' and 'plus one'! the sentiment is inside the card - and it's made with 'harold's abcs'.
the puppy is paper pieced and popped up, and i used paper, ribbon and twine for the 'grass'. i love the mixes of textures! :)
i colored in the stars with my white gel pen to make them pop.
so that's it! i hope it made you smile!
enjoy!
today's card features the 'sushi bar' stamp set from the alley way stamps! love that set!
i made this card for the be inspired challenge:
and the young crafters unite - hot trends challenge :)
and the moxie fab world repetition challenge!
i had a lot of fun creating this card! i love me some patterned paper!
and the background of the card was created using my awesome chevron dies from my favorite things that danielle over at girlracer scrap got me!!!!
i wanted to keep the background white, but also i felt like the card needed a little extra kick! so white on white chevron it is! :) and i really like the affect!
the fortune cookies are all popped up for dimension, as is the little flower that i colored and then glittered with some awesome icicle stickles! :)
so that's it! simple, crisp and happy! i'm going to run to get it in the mail today to send my grandpa some more happy! he needs as much cheering up as i can send! :)
happy monday!
enjoy!
i created my first scratch and sniff card for the most recent challenge at a blog named hero and the gallon, quart pint technique challenge over at the moxie fab world!
it's all about embossing, and the video techinique i watched uses heat embossing to create the scratch and sniff! so exciting!! i saw this video on the hero arts facebook page last week, and could not wait to try it out!! and now that i've made one, i can't wait to make more! lol!
here's my card, beware: it's an odd color combination!
orange, purple and cream! what?! well i had to use purple (which i'm really not a fan of...) because i was making this card for my bff in michigan. her favorite color is purple, she loves peach flavored things, and cotton candy! so as you can see...i tailored this card to her completely!
the cotton candy faces were made into the scratch and sniff part with peach flavored jello and clear embossing powder! i even used an action wobble on the big guy there! he's ready to party!
the other one is also popped up, but he can't move! ha ha!
all in all, it was super fun to create and try out a new technique i hadn't done before! :)
hope it brought a smile to your face!
enjoy!
i have not had time to craft this week! i hate that!!!! between work, and preschool starting, and labor day and both little menn sick...it's been a tad hectic here! but i did find time to squeeze in some crafty time this morning!! yay! i feel rejuvenated and i want to make more more more! lol!
the card i made today is for two challenges (two of my favorite ones at that!)
lawnscaping (using the awesome sketch there!)
and the young crafters unite challenge - which is using a hot trend (or 2!) in your project!
a little note before you see my card...i used a LOT of patterns...a lot!! lol! it may border on pattern overload, but i am still happy with the result! :)
i used lawn fawn's 'a birdie told me' and 'happy everything' stamp sets!
the card is pretty self explanatory, actually! i used lots of washi tape to mimic a rainbow (love!) and the little bird and word bubble are popped up for dimension, of course! :)
it makes me smile to when i look at it! and i can't wait to send it to my grandpa to cheer him up and let him know we're all thinking of him! :)
i hope you guys have a wonderful and enjoyable weekend (filled with lots and lots of crafty time!)!
enjoy!
