Survived an outdoor gear factory outlets tour but had not spent a single cent on shopping for the first time ever! Absolutely loves the Vietnamese meal I just had for dinner!

CRAZY
Tuesday, November 10 | 1:23 AM

Shit happens, so they say.

First the false ceiling to the master toilet started to leak. Then the car battery went flat. These happened 2 weeks prior my departure. To add to my woes, the dogsitters played me out from time to time during my 3 month long arduous search for suitable candidates/hotels for Sprite. This is on top of my work and struggle to recover from that incessant cough from Hong Kong since 19/9.

I will pesevere!

the first time
Monday, November 2 | 3:07 PM

No. This is not a lewd confession about one's first sexual experience.

I'm watching a taped episode of Oprah on Americans voting for their president earlier this year. For many, it was the first time casting their votes. Folks interviewed on the Oprah episode talk about why they decide to make the vote this time round. Many admitted to being complacent during previous elections. But this year, the possibility of witnessing an African American candidate take up the mantle and change history forever, spurred on by many celebrities' call on media blitz to vote, prompted numerous to stand up and be counted.

First time. Here on this little red dot, most of us even don't even need to vote due to the unique political situation. This has sort of bred a "Why bother?" attitude in me. Am I complacent with regards to local politics therefore? Seriously, I'm too busy to bother. Besides, voting is as "meaningless" as it is in Russia or Africa, as two interviewees on Oprah had so aptly commented, because there is only one candidate or a party involved, or in Singapore's case, a sure-win sweep for the dominating party.

Nevertheless, I'm inspired once again by stories of ordinary people coming out of their comfort zones and making history.

Once again, am I looping around in my comfort zone like a scratched vinyl record?

Falling Billboard

Ronald_profile

You rarely, if ever, go to McDonald's. You probably won't die there, but a McDs billboard will fall on you someplace. Sorry, it sucks but it should be fast.

what personality trait stands out
| 12:33 AM

Adventurous

Climb_1_profile

You have an exciting personality. There isn't one boring moment in your life. You have an insatiable curiosity that takes you on many memorable experiences. Your wonder of the world demands that you travel, wherever it may be! Simply looking at a picture or reading about it won't be enough. You're strong and fearless enough that you come off as heroic. You have an honorable charm about you. You are very loyal to your friends, family, and especially your romantic interest. A promise is a promise.

tied
Saturday, October 24 | 6:07 PM

Someone said to me recently, "You cannot compare dogs to children."
To that I replied, "Right now, Sprite's my precious like your children are to you. Respect that."

Whatever ties you down in life - material possessions, your work, family or even pets - we all should respect each others`indulgences and fixes.

Just Don't Understand
Sunday, October 18 | 8:30 AM

I posed this on Facebook.

Stanley Ho
just don't understand y people still hold the notion that you must go JC in order to secure a place in UNI. That's a thing OF THE PAST! The academic terrain has changed so much TODAY! DO NOT GO JC to serve some institutions' CCA obligations when YOU DO NOT have the NECESSARY ACADEMIC APPTITUDE! PLEASE NOTE!

by academic apptitude - I'm talking abt 12 points and below. Just spoke to JC teacher and she's telling me abt same situation where CCA took in student who is now on the chopping block. Sigh.

I ran
Sunday, August 23 | 9:39 PM

I ran to the forest. I ran to the trees. I ran and I ran.

I ran to the lake. Up to the hills. I ran and I ran.

I ran to the cemetery. I held my breath.

I thought about your death.

I turn my feelings into stone.

I tasted the rain. I tasted my tears.

I cursed the angels. I tasted my fears.

And the ground gave way beneath my feet.

And the earth took me in her arms.

Sir...
Wednesday, August 19 | 3:24 PM

Sir, what's with the socks?

I grabbed the socks from the bag and wore them only in the vehicle while the traffic lights were red. Little did I realise that they were different, until a kid in school pointed it out to me.

blue for me
Tuesday, August 18 | 5:23 PM

Carrick, Ireland
15 June 2009

I always love using blue in my artwork when I was young - blue skies, blue ocean and the blue eyes of Caucasian kids. Call it my escape which began in my primal days, this affinity with clear blue waters has been my constant source of peace and quiet.

RED RED RED
Monday, August 17 | 11:21 PM

I'm hardly so patriotic!

Wearing red just to get that 44% percent discount for this National Day buffet at Orchard Hotel on the nation's 44th birthday.

It's been a long while since we took a picture together as a family.

Tuesday, August 4 | 7:23 AM

I was glad I went.
The memories,
the blessings of past 20 years;
perhaps less than 10 personally.
I pray this be
a new chapter;
a new beginning.
