I look at the long peduncle of this one rose of mine. It’s long and sturdy for that single blooming rose, indicating all the care (fertilizers, watering, etc) had been right.
Instead of feeling happy about this little achievement, I kind of feel sad.

Friday in Frames
Finally, this week ends with some blooms in the garden.
It has been two busy months since I last saw my roses bloomed. I have been dis-budding them off before they even get to unfurl pretty petals.

A bouquet for a day
My intention was purely to deadhead spent-flowers so I could carry the routine thrips insecticide spraying.
TIP 1: It is one of the best practices to deadhead all blooms before spraying as the tiny droplets of the spray solution often miss the inside of the blooms. Between the many and thick layers of petals, always is the best home for thrips.
