Friends With Flair

I thought I'd pop in here today and see if my blog still works! It's been so long. I'm sharing a card today that I made for my niece's 17th birthday. Time sure flies! This Unity stamp by Phyllis Harris stamp suits her so well. She is a blonde haired surfing beauty so it couldn't be more perfect.

Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate your visit!

So I was home from work yesterday because my kids are sick with a summer virus. I feel so bad for them. BUT, on the bright side, I was home when my July Unity Kit of the Month arrived! I couldn't wait to ink this stamp up!!!!
I kept it quick and simple with some watercoloring.
Go check out all the DARN GOOD deals and new stamps at Unity!!!!

Die Cut Divas

Come over and see me today at Die Cut Diva! I am sharing this layout using the Scallop Circle in kraft, love this die cut background, you can use it in so many fun ways! and Terry has EVERY color you could imagine! I stamped the background with Gurnsey Gingaham by Ippity (which was an afterthought which is why it's so messy!)
I used a variety of Unity stamps on this layout as well, the bunny up in the left hand corner is from the January 2010 Kit of the Month and the egg in the lower right hand corner is from the February 2009 Kit of the Month. The Memories journaling stamp is from the January 2011 Kit of the Month.
The flowers and birds are cut from My Little Shoebox Home Tweet Home, in stock at Paper Wings right now! The striped paper behind the Scallop Circle is also MLS Home Tweet Home!

Hello

Happy H{ippity} Hop Monday! Did everyone watch the Superbowl? I went to a party and the hosts are HUGE Green Bay Packers fans so it was pretty exciting, a happy place to be!
I made this card following a sketch but for the life of me I cannot find the sketch or the source of it right now...if you recognize it, please let me know so I can give credit! *thanks*! I am entering this into this week's challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room, the theme is Sweethearts and there is a beautiful and *sweet* inspiration photo.
I used last year's Pink Paislee Valentine line, with little hearts on the cloud. Love the colors in this line so much and the colors of the challenge are pink, green, brown & neutral. Using doilies, polka dots, flowers, lace, ribbons ... OR ALL! ! So, I have the pink, little touch of green, brown and neutral along with hearts and lace. The sentiment is from Ippity's How YOU Doin'? and the cute little tree is from Bella Blvd's Bella Trees by Unity.

I'm A Little Teapot

The Shabby Tea Room is having a DT call! I have been following this blog for a long time now and LOVE all of the inspiration there. I love the look of Shabby Chic designs and decided that I was going to challenge myself to create more "shabby" projects this year. When I saw the DT call, I thought, "why not?!" Perfect way to start creating outside of my comfort zone. I don't think I really have a "go to" style, it all depends on my mood and how much time I have when I sit down to create something.
This little teapot card is what I wound up with and I have to admit I am pretty thrilled with it. I love shaped cards, so that's all it takes for me! The inspiration photo they provided is below and as you can see I went with a pretty literal interpretation with the teapot and had so much fun with this.
Thanks for looking and wish me luck! I adore The Shabby Tea Room and would love to work with them!

Friends WIth Flair

TGIF!

The sentiment on my card is from the Unity October 2010 Kit of the Month. I used some old Cosmo Cricket paper and Love My Tapes Fabric Sheets to die cut the trees. I cut the sentiment panel from my scalloped oval Nestabilities and underlined the sentiment with Recollections pearls.

Friday, October 22, 2010

Today I have a mini book to share that still needs a few finishing touches and photos, of course!

The base of the mini book is a Sizzix die and the holly is die cut from Tim Holtz grungeboard paper, then sprayed with Smooch Spritz and stickled a bit with copper Stickles. I used Fancy Pants Tradition throughout my project, love this line!
Do you recognize this Christmas tree?! This is one of Unity's new Itty Bitty's, if you haven't checked these out yet, they are so cool! Great size stamp for a great price!

Another Unity stamp from one of my Kits of the Month (hmmm, can't remember which month it is!)
I made the flower from crepe paper and a Martha Stewart button punch, and finished off with some stickles and twine.

Some more crepe paper and Martha Stewart glitter, with a few Martha Stewart snowflakes punched and layered.

Fabric tape from Love My Tapes!

Another CUTE Itty Bitty by Unity! Gotta check em out at the new Unity website HERE! And if you didn't start out at the Unity blog, go -------->>> HERE to see a full list of Friends With Flair!
Happy Weekend!

A little birdie told me...

FRONT OF CARD (inside below)
Isn't this stamp set just INCREDIBLE?!!? I love Melody Ross and I am really loving her partnership with Unity! Speaking of incredible, I ordered this set from Paper Maniac last Friday and it was in my mailbox on Monday, WOW! That's what I call customer service ;)

I made this card for a co-worker who is struggling a bit with some things right now and not feeling so great about herself. Hopefully it will put a smile on her face for a bit!

(Inside of Card)
We are off to Jellystone Campground this weekend for a frightful weekend of hayrides, corn mazes, pumpkin carving and trick or treating! Can't wait.
Stop by the Unity blog to see today's full list of Friends with Flair.

Growing In Unity~Day 3~Unity Addicts Challenge

Hi Everyone! Happy Wednesday! I am having so much fun with Growing In Unity this week and today's post was EXTRA fun for me since Maria sent me a preview of the Unity Addicts Challenge to work with for my card!
And quite a challenge it was! She sent me a BINGO card full of different embellishments/techniques/colors and I had to pick a column to include on my card.

I chose Column I which was Bling, Rub-ons, Stickers, Ribbon, Brown.

The BLING is the holly berries.

The RUB-ONS are on the inside of the card.

The STICKER is the the white background with the green holly leaves which is a Creative Imaginations journaling sticker.

The RIBBON is obvious! The brown and cream striped ribbon from May Arts.

The BROWN is the ink and the ribbon.

My DP is from my 6x6 Basic Grey Jovial paper pad and I used stamps from {ippity's} Kissmas & Mistletoe and Seasons of Joy sets.

The pearl pick is from Caramelo's on Etsy. Great place to shop for vintage-inspired supplies!

Remember to leave a comment today and the rest of the week for your chance to win a prize from Unity!

Growing In Unity~Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of Growing In Unity! My card today is made with Basic Grey Pyrus DP. I just love this particular pattern, it reminds me of vintage wallpaper and the gold couch we had growing up that was covered in plastic and we were never allowed to sit on! Oh, the good 'ol days! Back then, that couch was the ugliest thing ever, and we used to tease my mom about it all the time, but it's funny that now I think it was really cool!
Anyway, very simple card here starting with PTI kraft cardstock, a layer of BG Pyrus and then some very pretty trims that I picked up in Orlando at the Scrappy Boutique. The lighter brown crocheted trim is by Prima, the flowers are by BoBunny and the darker brown is (I think) May Arts. Finished off with a Maya Road stick pin and some coordinating Recollections pearls. The sentiment is from my Unity August 2010 Kit of the Month, {all you need}. Love this one! So much fun :)

Thanks for stopping by today to see me for my second day of Growing In Unity! Be sure to leave a comment for your chance to win a prize at the end of the week! (and of course because they make my day!)

We are off to Pre-School orientation later this morning, so I'm sure I will be an emotional wreck today ;)

Enjoy YOUR day!
