Friends With Flair Blog Hop

I have the hardest time getting a good picture of my layouts no matter the conditions outside-sunny, overcast, etc! And I don't have Photoshop, so please excuse the mediocre photo!

I love the Wishful Thinking line by Fancy Pants, so pretty and feminine. And of course, when I saw the banner paper, I knew I had to cut some out and my niece's 1st birthday was the perfect occasion for this line.

Even though I love the soft, feminine, pastel colors of this paper, I decided to grunge it up a bit with some chalk ink and Walnut ink. I used the birthday cake from Unity's July KOM and some goodies from Elle's Studio to journal on. I added some pleated crepe paper and Prima flowers to the bottom.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope to post my vintage sheet music flower tutorial tomorrow if you'd like to check it out.

Have a great weekend.

Wrinkly Ribbon Tutorial

Well, we've all seen one of the latest craze's in papercrafting~wrinkly ribbon, crinkly ribbon, dyed seam binding~call it what you want~I call it gorgeous! LOL! I am a sucker for trends, but I usually spend more time watching them and blog hopping, then I do actually using them. So, in my true style, YES, I admit, I am late on this trend, but better late than never I say!
I'm sure anyone that loves this wrinkly ribbon as much as I do, has already searched for a tutorial, but I thought I'd share mine anyway, just for giggles :)

So, when I decided I just HAD to make my own wrinkly ribbon, the tutorial I found and pretty much followed exactly was from Noel Mignon's Tips and Techniques Blog.
So, I started with some Hug Snug seam binding that I got from Zipper Stop on Ebay-good price, super fast shipping!

I tried Smooch Spritz too, more concentrated vibrant color and messier too :)
While I was preparing my other supplies, I brewed a yummy pot of Hazelnut coffee! (YES, this really is relevant!)

Spray some glimmer mist on the seam binding while your coffee brews :)

Once the coffee is done, p0ur yourself a cup and enjoy! Take the wet coffee grinds and dump them into a plastic bowl with your sprayed seam binding to create a nice vintage-y feel!

And remember, it's more fun if you make a mess!

I baked mine in the sun to dry it quicker because I don't have a lot of patience!

And here is the final result :) Gorgeous and ready to be used for whatever crafty project you are about to embark on!

Hope you have enjoyed my tutorial! Later this week I will be sharing how I made my vintage sheet music flowers~seen here.................

Hope you are have a great week :)

Monday Play Date with Ippity!

Welcome to this week's H{ippity} Hop! I decided to play along with the Play Date Cafe Challenge 39 so I am sharing that card today for the hop! It's been awhile since I participated in a challenge, I can never seem to get my act together in time but since this challenge was "Dublin Style" it spoke to me! My family is from Ireland and although I've only been to Dublin twice, I LOVE IT and can't wait to go back, it is such a quaint little city and you feel at home immediately!

This particular challenge is a color challenge and immediately a Pint of Guinness came to mind because of the colors and "Dublin" but I thought I would go in a different direction since I have been dying to ink up the Music of My Heart set by ippity. (On sale now for $14.00 and FREE shipping!)

So here is my card using Anna Griffin and Cosmo Cricket DP (I know, weird combination!) along with kraft cardstock and Black Bazzill. The flower is a bit big for this card but I made it this morning before work (lol!) and that is all I had on hand. If it were a bit smaller, I think it would look much better.

Anna Griffin, Cosmo Cricket DP, Kraft cardstock, Webster's Pages scalloped sparklers, wrinkly ribbon, Ippity Music of My Heart stamps, Vintage Sheet Music & Decoupage Flower, Memento Tuxedo black ink, black Bazzill

Thanks for stopping by! Come back tomorrow if you want to see how I made my wrinkly ribbon. Next stop on the hop is Jen Marie!

H{ippity} Hop Monday

Hope you all had a great weekend! After 2 birthday parties on Saturday, we took it easy today and had a lazy PJ's day complete with some crafty goodness!
For now, I will share one card that I made using one of the Donna Downey Artist In You Stamps by Unity and the Thanks. sentiment is from the Simple Things set by Ippity. This is one of the four cards we will be making in my Fun With Unity workshop at Paper Wings on July 30th.

I started with plain white cardstock, sponged the background in a few different colors, stamped the image with embossing ink and then heat embossed with black embossing powder. I then ran it through my Cuttlebug using the houndstooth embossing folder and lastly sprayed with Glimmer Mist and Smooch Spritz. I enjoyed using several different techniques on this card! This beautiful card in the SCS gallery was my inspiration although I didn't use the same techniques.

If you would like to buy some of the first two {ippity} releases at SUPER low prices, visit my {ippity} sales blog HERE! and be sure to check out the rest of the blog hop participants over at the {ippity} blog!

Have a great week!

TGIF! Friends with Flair!

I'm so happy it's Friday! It's been such a long week after returning from our camping trip last weekend. I didn't have much time for crafting, but I did manage to come up with a little card for today featuring the Lollipop Tree You and Me set by Unity. I just loved this image the minute I saw it and it' s great because it comes with several different sentiments to put into the quote bubbles. You can use it for a card OR for a scrapbook layout!
So, here is my card, but don't forget to go back to the Unity blog to see who else is hopping today! Stop by the website too if you want to check out their HUGE SUMMER EXTRAVAGANZA SALE! 40% off EVERYTHING! yes, you read that right, I said EVERYTHING! LOL!
Or if you're looking for some {ippity} on sale, check out my {ippity} blog for some great deals!

And I can't resist sharing this picture of Luke! Saturday it rained all day at the campground so they had a craft activity for the kids, they got to choose something to color, so Luke picked a Jellystone Campground bag to decorate. I love this picture, he is concentrating so hard~LOL!

And here is on the ride home with his new friend :)

Oopsie!

Well, after spending Saturday and Sunday at the beach, we decided to extend our stay until this afternoon, therefore I was without a computer and my crafting supplies!
If you're here for H{ippity} Hop, I apologize I don't have a new project to share today :(

Here's a couple pictures of Lukey at the beach, with his cousin and enjoying his ice cream cone on the way home earlier!
Thanks for your understanding and I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday weekend!
