Two Timing.

ONE STOP POETRY

THURSDAY THINK TANK

TWO TIMING!

Einstein, the famous scientist
Said that Time does not exist.
Past, present, future all are one,
It's just that we're influenced by the sun.
Our days are divided by its light,
Into day and into night;
That is why we're always countng
And the number of days are mounting.
If there were no night and were no day
We'd continue on our way,
Growing older but not aware
That hours and minutes were even there!
(In the Universe Time is bent......
Planets seem to make a dent......
But all of that's too much for me;
Let's continue,  with simplicity.)
Time varies, that is surely true,
According to what we think or do.
It can go like a flash if we're engaged
In a book that's read or a play that's staged,
But it can drag and go very slow
If we're bored and wishing for time to go.
But History's only a human thing;
Modern Busker, ancient King
Both inhabit the same time-frame;
Past, present, future are all the same.
But still I feel we should not mock
That comforting, old-fashioned clock.

PUMPKIN PRONTO!

What a sweet and sassy treat!
Everyone will want to eat
This pumpkin pie with ginger laced.
Every table should be graced
With such a veritable feast!
A lot of trouble? Not in the least!
Ready-made pastry does the trick
And helps you to be double-quick!
The oven is already hot
(You're efficient, are you not!)
Pumpkin, cooked, is first in line,
Mashed until it's creamed and fine.
Then add sugar, salt and spices,
Now a thorough mix suffices.
To this add evaporated milk
And two eggs, beaten soft as silk.
Pour into the pastry case,
In the heated oven, place.
In fifteen minutes hear the bell;
Your timer's served you very well.
Your pie is certain to impress
When a dob of cream adds to success.

I love the way you have married the prompts and satisfied them both. Cleverly done - not easy to be a successful two-timer!

Now if you only threw in some information regarding parallel universes it would be my favorite poem ever!!! Just teasing. This is great! I really like how you used science within a poem. I am a science geek so I loved it!
