New Ships (3-04-13)

Got some new ships finished and ready for pictures.  Enjoy!

Here we can a Vengeance-class frigate facing off vs. two modified Action VI transports.  As a backdrop, we can see the Death Star approaching a small jungle moon.

New Ships - Part 1

I finished a bunch of ships a while ago, but have been so busy that I couldn't find the time to post pictures.  Here they are (finally).

The Arc Hammer, a Turbulent-class Star Destroyer Mark II, and a TIE Aggressor

New Ships, 9-10-12

Well, so I finally got around to taking pictures of my latest batch of new ships.  Enjoy.

Here we can see a Rebel CC-7700/E Interdictor and several T-Wings patrolling the space around a barren moon or small planetoid.

Newest Ships, 7/30/12

I got a chance this weekend to take some pictures of the stuff I've gotten done lately.  The pictures didn't want to turn out, so we'll all just have to live with my crummy photography skills.

Here we see Plo Koon in his Delta-7, navigating a asteroid field.  The asteroids are lava rock from my yard, just like the ones I usually use in my games, but these were washed to get the dust/sand/grit off, and primed grey.  I wanted a few mounted on stands for effect, but Ill probably still use the unmounted red/brown ones from time to time as well.

New Ships Arrive! (finally...)

So, I finally got my printer fixed, so now I can get around to finishing up the stat cards for my newest ships.  And now here's the pics.

Comparison shot of my old Venator (by WotC) and my newly acquired one (Titanium series, I think).  Not really proportioned the same, but it'll do.  Accompanying them are my Nu-class Attack Shuttles, the plans came from here

A Pile of New Stuff

It's been a wile since i posted anything, but I've been busy making ships, with little time to make up stat cards or take pictures.  (Note: anything I post like this, not in a game, is newly made)

My TIE Droids, accompanied by a few more regular TIEs.  I kit-bashed TIE Bomber wings to make the TIE Droid wings, it took forever.  I decided I liked the way the standard view-port looked when painted red more than I cared for the idea of modifying the details on the window.  I think they look good.

Three new CR90 Corellian Corvettes.  I tried inking this batch, I think it looks fine.  Not necessarily better than w/o ink, but just different.  They are rounding a small moon I recently made.  The planetoid has seen some serious meteoroid impacts in the past.

1st Battle Rep. - Battle of Despayre

So this weekend we recreated the Battle of Despayre.  The "As Canon" battle didn't seem very fun to run, so I tweaked it a little bit.  In this scenario, the Death Star's Superlaser is still not functional, and its protective fleet has been scaled back to one Imperial-class Star Destroyer, one Victory-class Star Destroyer, and a Strike Cruiser.  The Rebel fleet was increased to one Lucrehulk, one Dreadnought, a Medium Transport, a CR90 Corvette, and a Consular-class Cruiser.  All the Death Star did was disgorge 4 squadrons of TIE fighters each round until it ran out (in the 3rd round).

Here's the set-up.  We fielded pretty much every fighter I could explain as being used at the time (~ -0.1 to 0 ABY) plus some TIE Interceptors (which Ijust pretended were prototypes guarding the Empire's most important project).  That's the MicroMachines Death Star I in the background.  It unfolds into a whole playset; much cooler than the MicroMachines Death Star II (bottom of the page) that we also had as kids.  This one isn't as big, but it's an actual sphere, not just a round front and flat back.
