a life of worship – v3

Defined by His command,
following His guiding,
God directing all of us
on how to live.

A life of worship,
faithful to our calling.
the Shepherd’s leading us
out into His world.

Hiding from God

when we sin
when we stray
hiding from God
as if we could
somehow, someway
God knows us
God is always with us
God calls us to Him
to His loving arms.

obedience to the message - v3

the first disciples
common people
a model for our living
obedient to the message
the calling of the Lord

going out into the world
all of their days
to spread the grace of God

Lord, come seek me – v2

Lord do not forget me
come, seek me
when I stray, wander,
out into the world
when I sin against you
I want to follow
I remember, not forgotten,
through the struggles
of my cluttered life
even when I stray I remember
commands of my hearts

Where in the bible does it say how we are to love ourselves?

Where in the bible does it say how we are to love ourselves?

It says how we are to love our neighbor (Leviticus 19) and who our neighbor is (Luke 10); but does it state directly how we are to treat ourselves, other than that our bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit, we are to take Sabbath, and a bunch of commands as to what we are not to do, etc.?

Like a lost sheep - 2

Like a lost sheep of your flock,
seek me Lord, come after me
in the wild, the wilderness,
lost in the world.
Seek me Lord, one of your lambs
strayed from the sheep fold;
gather me in loving Lord
I am lost in the world

To love our neighbor as ourselves

We are told we are to love
to love our neighbor as ourselves
to love as God loves us
through the life of Christ
to love as Christ loves us
sacrificing his life
but what is said of how to love
how we are to love ourselves
other words, less direct
telling us how to love ourselves

Every Decision

If we are living our faith
every decision, every step
discerning the master’s will
his calling, his voice
how to use of our gifts
all of our lives
for God’s glory

Every decision, every step
to live out our calling
to love our neighbors and our God
to go where we are sent
following Christ only
our savior and our brother
wherever he may lead
