A few November finishes...

I had some tea toweling by the yard and
thought it was time to cut them into tea towel lengths,
hem them and
add some embroidery and crochet edgings...
The snowmen a Bird Brain Designs Pattern #699
Snowmen by the Dozen.
I'm not sure where I got the kitten design...
I've had it for years.

and another one...
This Snowgal is 1 of 2 Bird Brain Designs found in the
Winter issue of Quilts and More magazine.
I used an Aunt Martha tea towel.
Wish I could find my magazine...I was hoping to stitch a few more.
I have been searching my house for 3 days...
I don't know where else to look.
I'll keep looking for another few days...
if I can't find it I'll have to buy another copy.

Some of the toweling didn't have plain areas to add embroidery,
but they do have a crochet edging.

I completed my ALYOF November goal...
The ZEN pattern was in the February 2009 issue of
American Patchwork and Quilting magazine.
It is a quick and easy quilt to make.

A few finishes

In July, I started the embroidery for another Tammy bag.
I finally finished it this week along with a collapsible thread catcher.
The stitching is a Bird Brain Designs pattern.
It is a free pattern at Lecien.
I'm loving those dots...a needle keeper will complete this sewing kit.
The tea towel with the machine embroidered poinsettia
was given to me by a friend...I was cleaning out my linen closet and
thought it was the perfect towel for a little crocheted edging.
I love it!!

A couple of finishes...

...a few more tea towels
using Bird Brain Designs pattern #541
Fresh Picked Tea Towels
...some fresh picked juicy cherries
and yummy apples.
I consider myself a beginner when it comes to crocheting
...it has to be easy.
I did a Google search...tea towel crocheted edgings.
There are lots of free edgings...some pretty easy ones...
and still I had to rip many stitches...I know how to do the basic stitches
just have trouble counting to 4.

More Embroidery and Crocheted edgings...

The embroidery was completed on some tea towels a long time ago.
They were tucked away in a box just waiting for the crocheted edgings.
Crocheting the edgings really don't take long to...not sure why I procrastinate.
Love all three!!
The apple pie is a free design from Kaaren at The Painted Quilt.
It was one of her First Friday Freebie patterns back in 2010.

The cute rabbit tea towels are Aunt Martha's iron transfers, pattern #3828.
They are available at Colonial Patterns, Inc.

A little embroidery for my ALYoF August goal...

The embroidery...it is a pattern designed by Sara...
...take a peek at all her cuteness,
if you love embroidery you will love her designs.
The design I'm working with is 'Grandma's Back Yard'.

The embroidery is finished....that's the fun part...just love it!!!

I'm making a clothes pin bag...it's just the perfect design.
My August goal for ALYoF will be to finish the clothes pin bag.

Happy New Year and December's ALYoF Finish

Happy New Year ...

I'm hoping 2015 will be a better year!!
Mr. QnQ is doing well...still no decision made about surgery.
He did see the neurologist on the 29th, I stayed in the car as
I didn't want to spread my germs.
After 4 days in bed, I believe I am on the mend!!!

I really didn't think I was going to finish my December goal.
At noon today, I still had not started the quilting.
We had a few errands to run this afternoon,
I had a nap when I got home and didn't feel too bad...
at 11:00 it's a finish!!

 The wall hanging measures 34" x 44"
I quilted it with stippling and added a few paw prints.
Mr QnQ's cousin opened a veterinary clinic this year...
I'll see if they would like it for the clinic.
I love how it turned out.
My goal is to get it in mail to send to Bird Brain Designs on Monday so it
can be included in the Road to California Quilt Show later this month.

Happy stitching!!

It's another finish for...ALYoF

I do not know where August went but I do know it went by way too fast.
I finished my August ALYoF goal...it is always a good feeling
when you reach a goal you set for yourself.
Here is the before picture...they had been pinned for a long time.

The pins are gone and all are stitched.

I also got the Vintage Tin blocks traced onto the background fabric.
I am so glad that is finished.
I used a black Frixon pen to do the tracing...
Sorry...the pictures are not good, I'll just show you a few.

I am linking up to ALYoF - August finishing party
with Melissa and Shanna.
Thank you ladies for hosting A Lovely Year of Finishes.
I know I would not have finished these blankets
or got the blocks traced if it wasn't for you hosting ALYoF.

A Lovely Year of Finishes I am going to

If I have a deadline...I will get them finished.
I would also like to have the blocks traced for
Crabapple Hill's Vintage Tin pattern...
stitching will come later...maybe September's goal.

There are lots of links at Sew BitterSweet Designs or Fiber of All Sorts

Superpower blog hop...final day...time to reveal my superpower...

First let me thank Mdm Samm for believing in me to be
your cheerleader for this hop!!
She is the one with sEw many superpowers and the one
that stands out to me
...is her leadership...
she is a confidence builder and encourages us all!!
Thank you Mdm Samm!!

Secondly I would like to thank DMC for sponsoring this blog hop.
It was the first time a sponsor participated with a blog posting!
It was fun to read Emma Broidery's blog!
Thank you DMC!!

Now...it's time to reveal my superpower...
I really struggled with this...'superpower' theme
...as I'm not one to brag about what I am good at
...I'm not one to draw attention to myself.
I am usually in the background...I'm not a leader, always a follower.
I'd say I'm a pretty good cook...baker...procrastinator...
I love to share and to give...
I love to work with needle, thread, floss, perle cotton and yarn.
I love to work with my sewing machine...sEw I am going to say
my superpower is quilting, embroidering and crafting.

I made a few projects I hope you enjoy my superpower parade...

First up is a sewing machine cover.
The embroidery is a Rag Tag Stitchin' pattern by
Michelle Ridgway
Her pattern was for a tote bag...
I changed the word Notion to Machine
and enlarged the pattern to 125%.
Next up is a Tammy Bag...I luv these bags...
with a twist from the original pattern.
I added embroidery...S for sewing, or it could be S for your initial.
The Stitchery Alphabet pattern is also one of Michelle's designs.
She also designed a Baby Alphabet and a Noel Alphabet...
and lots of other embroidery designs to feed your creativity!!
You can find Michelle's patterns at Crazy Quilt Girl Fabric Shop
and the Tammy Bag pattern designed by Mdm Samm at Craftsy .

I also made a few message boards using chalk cloth...
I embroidered on unbleached osnaburg fabric
and used Moda's Mama Said Sew plaid by Sweetwater to bind them.
There is a little pocket on the bottom for the chalk.

The Hugs and Kisses patterns are by Helen Stubbings
They are 2 patterns from her 'Thought of the Month' series.

I will be making more of these !!

Here is the schedule for the final day of the hop...
it is always sad to see the hops end.

Please leave a sweet comment
to the ladies revealing their superpowers today...
...lets make their hearts sing.
Mme Samm has a Pinterest board for each of the blog hops...
be sure to check them out....sew much inspiration!!!

You can find the full schedule HERE.
