July stitch a long

I had stitched the penguins for the bag but surprise I can't find it so.....

I am changing my mind and will be using this block.

It is not too Christmas. I have not included the baubles and feel that this bag can be used more often with this design.

Stitching all done.

Next step. Hexagons for the bag.  Job. for tonight.

Saturday

This morning I headed over to Parkes for a hair cut. A new store opened today and the lines were enormous, just like the Boxing Day sales

This afternoon I have been sewing my table topper and doing washing. The house is quiet as the girls are with their father, not sure what is going on as there was a five month gap and now it is one or two weeks between visits!

Bridie and Talia have the dance dress rehearsal tomorrow. 2-530. There are 38 acts. Bridie loves her green outfit (French) and is not too keen on the white one(Alaska). The theme is Around the World.

SSS presents wrapped ready to send on Monday. Very excited.

Xmas stitching

Tonight as I sit and watch X Factor I am sewing a Christmas table topper. I admired this pattern last year and I wanted to make it

I have only a few minor touches to do before I send off my final Santa Sack Swap parcel. It is nearly time to open all the parcels in my sack.

During the week I watched Beauty and the Geek and was pleasantly surprised to see my cousin the judge for the hair style challenge. Kelly manages a beauty school in Sydney and her school must have been used.

Anyway back to X Factor and stitching.

Reconnection

Today I was able to spend some time at my sewing machine.

I ended up stitching the rest of my tongues to their baskets.

I also bordered a stitchery I had completed a while ago. I quilted it and attached the binding.

I am off to Sydney for the week so I am taking it with me to sew in the car.

Pinning

Tongues all pinned onto fabric strips.
Still no sewing machine so I will be hand sewing them down.

Tomorrow, meetings in the morning and then traveling to Albury for a meeting on Thursday.

Blanket stitch

This is what I did yesterday, after finishing the stitching. I have blanket stitched some stitcheries onto the tongues.
Now to blanket stitch the tongues to the strip of fabric which will become the basket.

Family day

Bridie and I spent the morning working in a small garden.
There is a tree stump surrounded by rocks in our front yard.  It was full of weeds. A few weeks ago we poisoned the week and Saturday morning we pulled the weeds out, added potting mix and threw down some flower seeds.

We used up all of the seeds we had bought and then went off to buy some more.  I don't know what varieties were bough but I am sure Bridie will be taking lots of pictures if they grow!

We bought a watering can for Bridie so she could water the area.

We also laid some weed mat over some unsightly areas.  The pavers had been removed by the previous people and lots of weed were growing. My contract for work has been extended a further two years so we want to fix up the yard to ensure the landlord will keep us on.

In the afternoon I headed to sewing class. It is not a 'class' but an afternoon where two or three of us gather to sew together.  It has taken me 18 months to find a group so I go as often as I can.

I spent the after tracing in preparation for some Christmas presents and a table topper. Both of these patterns are from Hatched and Patched.

Exhausted

Today I ventured back in the classroom. I had year three today.
My goodness it has been two years since I stepped in a classroom for a whole day. I am exhausted.

Need to get some Xmas stitching happening. Ahhhhhh maybe in the weekend I will prepare some projects. I have a full week away so best get organized.

FNSI

Wow had a very successful night.

1 sewed together the thread keeper now to hand sew the design

2 the table topper is sewed together. The background together. Now to stitch the vine, centre and also attach it to the background

3 fabric basted the hexagon quilt now already to quilt. Have three weeks to complete this so I can give it to a baby girl who was born a month ago.

Very happy about my work last night.

Road trip

Went in to work until lunch time. Managed to get my desk cleared as I wont be sitting at it for near two weeks.
Had some data collection to do for the schools. Was a little manic for a while but got it sorted. Yay.
Drove five hours to Cobar. Missed the patchwork shop! Will also miss it on my return trip too.
Managed to get some sewing done after the yummy meal from the restaurant.
Early start 530. Diving out to Wilcannia today to visit and work at the school most excited about it.
Hope your day is great.

On the Road Again

Today was spent starting to pack in preparation for the next two weeks.
Work this week takes me out to St Therese Community School in Wilcannia. Staying at Cobar and traveling out on Tuesday. Home on Wednesday (massage at 130).
Home to pack Bridie, Talia and myself up to go away for nine nights. Heading to Surfers Paradise and two theme parks. Sea World and Movie World. Number one daughter not coming choosing to stay a boyfriends and going to school. Will be sad without her.
Have placed all appliqué bits on my table topper, a gift for mum. I have used some Bliss fabric for this project.
