Tutorial with Video! Fancy Fold Friendship card

Hello Crafty Friends!

Are you a member of the Suzanne Cannon Fan Group on Facebook?  It is a happy place for fans of Suzanne to see projects using her product, learn about special sales, be the first to learn about new product, and watch Facebook Lives that share new techniques and tutorials.  The FB Lives occur on most Thursday evenings at 7pm EST and sometimes during the week we might share a special FB Live.

Last Thursday I shared a fancy fold card using three of Suzanne's gorgeous stamps.  The card has special folds revealing a sweet hidden message:
Lift the band and then the banner to reveal the sentiment:
The card is fun and easy to make!  Check out the video for the card instructions (Click here if you are viewing this through email):

Christmas in July - Word Dies Standing on Their Own!

Hi there, it’s Suzanne here today with a cool project that you may have seen before. But today I’m going to add a little extra fun.  Many of these dies can stand on their own with a little help, but if you add some embellishments to them, they can make awesome home décor.  For Christmas you can add them around the house – on the tree, on a mantle, on the dining table. You can tuck them in all sorts of unexpected places.  Spread the cheer!  Here’s how we do it.

(If you're receiving this as an email update, please watch the video tutorial on YouTube: https://youtu.be/XXCL_72USh8)

Thanks for watching!

To celebrate Christmas in July we’re having a giveaway!  One randomly chosen follower will win a $25 gift certificate for the Quietfire website.  All you have to do to be eligible is comment on the Quietfire Creation blog posts and follow us on YouTube!  https://www.youtube.com/user/QuietfireDesign   Entries close Sunday July 29, 2018 at midnight.  Good luck!!

Technique video tutorial: Coffee & Friends are the perfect blend

Hello Crafty Friends!

It was inky fun in my craft room last weekend using two newly released stamp sets from Quietfire Design: But First, Coffee and Tea & Thee.   The stamp sets are perfect for the tea or coffee lovers on your gift list.

I definitely wanted to share the techniques used to create the background as it is much easier to follow the technique via video.  (Here is the link to the YouTube video.)  You will want to have two pieces of watercolor paper handy as you will have ink left on your craft mat.  That's right, two cool backgrounds created at once.  :)

A closeup of the quote and the inky background.  After the background was adhered to the card front I added some sparkle with Nuvo Crystal Drops.

The large torn upper left corner is actually a pocket for a gift card.  (Make sure you leave a large enough area free of adhesive or glue if you decide to create a gift card packet.)
Such awesome tea and coffee stamp sets!  I like that each set has many stamps to play with: the tea set has 7 stamps and the coffee set has 8 stamps.  Yay!  Imagine all of the different projects you can create!

Thank you for stopping by.  I do hope you enjoyed the project and the technique video.
Have a happy, crafty day!

Kathy Jo

Summer 2016 A Way With Words Dies Release

We have a simply wonderful collection of brand new words to share with you!  Elizabeth Craft Designs is releasing 13 new A Way With Word dies and sets for your crafting pleasure.
Although they are a summer release, we have lots of winter and Christmas dies.  What is even more amazing is our hugely expanded ability to mix and match the new dies with those from previous releases.
I created a little video in order to share some of the beautiful creations made by the Quietfire Design Team and guest designers (and even a couple of glimpses from Els van de Burgt!).  A huge thanks to each one of them.
This is just a sneak peek! Most projects will be found in detail here on this blog and on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog in the coming weeks. Follow us on Facebook for all the up-to-date information and where you can go to see each project!
You may view this video here or go to YouTube. You'll see lots of other new Elizabeth Craft Designs dies in the video.   They compliment A Way With Words so beautifully!

As I write this, the dies are not far off, and you can
Pre-Order them now on the Quietfire site HERE!
They are in the Coming Soon Category of the Elizabeth Craft Designs website.

I hope you love the new A Way With Word Dies!
I look forward to seeing what *you* do with them.  Make sure you tap me on the shoulder if you post something using them!
Happy creating, Suzanne

You can find templates all over the web for these kinds of cards, but I wanted to have the basic shape at my fingertips for use any time and never have to measure any of the elements. (Yes, I'm *that* lazy!  But really, it's more of a time thing.) Expect to see a few variations of the Quietfire Card in a Box soon!

Here is how you make the Halloween Card in a Box.
