Gilded Shoot for the Moon Card

Soar collection / Flourished Christmas Minis 2 / Forever Platinum Gilding Powder / Kim Gowdy

Happy August! Kim here on the blog today with a quick share. Sorry I do not have a step by step photo view, as I had more to-dos than weekend available!

My card was actually quite simple to put together!

1] Cut a 5x10” sheet of cardstock, fold in half for your card base.

2] I cut a 4.5” square of Ranger ~ Dina Wakley Media Collage Collective paper. Within that        square I cut a circle, set aside.

3] I added Elizabeth Craft Designs double seeded adhesive to both sides of a scrap of cardstock and cut out the star from the Flourished Christmas Minis 2 set.

4] Use the patterned paper as a guide to place your star and set aside one ever agin. Before revealing the adhesive on the top side of the star, wipe your card with a dryer sheet to remove static for the next step.

5] Now remove the protective backing on the star, revealing the adhesive and sprinkle with Modern Gilding Powder ~ Forever Platinum, use heat gun to set.

6] Adhere the patterned paper now,  I had some little gold, sequin stars that I glued down for extra interest and texture.

7] Using a stamp positioner, I stamped my sentiment on a piece of 5x5” Duralar film, using the card underneath as a guide to position. I used StazOn ink for it’s permanency and quick dry time.

8] I used four mini Glue Dots at the edges to secure the Duralar down and had four small blue stars that were perfect for hiding the the dots of adhesives!

Hope this month offers up some crafting time. August CHEERS to you!

Autumn Leaves, Gilding and Card Making

Quietfire Design stamps and Modern Gilding Powders / card design by Kim Gowdy

Happy Wednesday! It’s me, Kim...here on the blog once again! I’m showing up today with a food hangover after our Canadian Thanksgiving feast over the weekend! My heart is happy and honestly there is so much to be thankful for. Autumn always puts a smile on my face, I would love to hold onto this season endlessly! Autumn was most definitely the inspiration for my card!

Let’s take a peek at my steps.

Quietfire Design stamps and Modern Gilding Powders / card design by Kim Gowdy

I used the Modern Gilding Powders in ‘Copper Scroll’ on the chipboard wreath. I just LOVE the colour and shine. Copper scroll is the perfect autumn colour!

To create my leaves, I used the Quietfire Design Leaves #6082 set.

I stamped them onto a mono-print that I had created earlier in the year using a gel plate. These were embossed using the Modern Gilding Powders in ‘Gothic Black’. It was perfect to capture all those fine details!

Next came the fussy cutting! Sorry folks...there is no way of getting around this step! It’s the perfect task to complete with some TV in the background!

I set all my leaves aside to create the background on a sturdy white cardstock. This was simply done using the Away With Stencils - Leaf Snowflake from Elizabeth Craft Designs. I used some soft, muted Distress Oxide inks to add the colour.

My sentiment stamp is from the Quietfire Design set Autumn Collection #5662. I used my favourite Versafine black ink to stamp the quote slightly higher than center.

The fun part was building the wreath and seeing the card come together. I used Glue Dots to secure the wreath and leaves. Nuvo Drops were used to add the little dots of yellow and a small bow finished it off. I honestly LOVE how it turned out!

I need coffee ....

Today i have another new coffee card from the cutest set of new cling stamps.  I found a few pieces of a beautiful water color looking paper in my stash and it already looked like it had spills on it. So cute!   So i added the tea stain ring from the tea stamp set on the bottom in a light taupe and then stamped my image on the top in black.  I really love this quote and i think it speaks for alot of us in the mornings....

Here is a quick closeup, the sentiment is perfect on this papers don't you think?  And like my card last time that was made with the same 49th and Market papers it really works well with the stamps and not much other fussiness.  Summertime is a great time to get out your stamps and create a bunch of cards to have ready for everyone just in case.... and this set is a must have!

Thank you again for stopping over for a little coffee time inspiration! And i guess i need to say that
this is actually my last post for Quietfire Design for awhile.  It was a very hard decision to do but i have been researching my family tree since my parents passed away and it's time for me to do some traveling and make up a few books for the family to keep about them.

Thank you to all of you for the many sweet and kind comments you have left through the years.  Yes i can't believe it's been years on this amazing team but always check back because you never know
what beautiful and amazing products that the talented Suzanne Cannon has up her sleeve or what amazing inspiration you will get from the Design Team!

Enjoy your day.. I will miss you all.... Teresa

Leave the Gate Open card

Hi it's Teresa here to share another card i did using a really cute new stamp called " Live like someone left the gate open".  I hope you like my idea to add the gate in the front of the garden on this already gorgeous paper.  I thought it would be fun to add a new part to the scene on the paper and then add the sentiment on the top.  And to give it a little bit more of a 3D effect i added some stickles and a little bit of glitter on all of the flowers.  It's really pretty in person and i hope you like it.

It's great to keep these kinds of cards simple and easy to mail.  There is so much beauty in the stamp and the paper you don't really need much else....

This would be a beautiful stamp to create your own garden of handmade flowers and maybe do a little masking with the fence posts to make the fence longer.  I can see so many fun ways to use this stamp.  And the sentiment is one that you can use for so many different things.  That is what i love about Suzanne's stamps.  They are always so fun and uplifting.

Have a very wonderful day and happy crafting to all of you,

Teresa

Without Music Card

I have another new stamp to share today called "Without Music" and i created a pretty lavender card to send to a friend.  The paper even had tiny white music notes on it so i was so thrilled.  And--- since the papers were so gorgeous already i kept the card simple and just layered it and tied a pretty white silk bow on the side with a pretty adhesive sparkle to match.

The papers i used for this are from a new company i found called 49 and Market and the papers are perfect to use Suzanne's gorgeous stamps on and each paper has beautiful colors and small little scenes on them.  And they come in a 6x6 pack perfect for cards.  I love the smaller patterns for cards.

Hope you like my share today and be sure and check out all the new stamps from this release!
They are so cute and have such wonderful sentiments....

Coffee and Friends

I am so excited to share that we have brand new stamps with both coffee themes and tea themes.  The sets are so cute and there are so many to pick from i really had a hard time choosing for my card today.  But i decided on the "Coffee and Friends" sentiment from the "But first Coffee set" and i even made a gift bag to give a special ground of coffee in as a gift with my card.  The papers i chose are a new design from BoBunny and it gives it a very sweet and feminine look to the card.

To stamp my sentiment i used a cocoa archival ink to match the wreath tag and then used a kraft colored card to layer all my design to and finish it.  I really, really love this color combo....
and here is the stamp set so you can see all the other amazing choices!

And here is a closeup of my custom coffee bag that i stamped.  I used to work in a store that ground the most delicious specialty coffees and you can ask for these bags from them or get them at your local craft store too. ( I found mine at Hobby Lobby here in the states).

Be sure and check out all the other new stamps on the website!!

Anyone can change everything....

Hi and happy Monday to all of you!  I have a really pretty card that i created to share with all of you from our newest release of the Quietfire Rubber stamps.   This one i really love because it gives such a positive message and would be perfect to send someone who needs a little lifting up or even a family member who just needs some positive inspiration in their life.

I used soft pale pink for my backround of my card and cut the swirled die from Becca Feeken in white to add a beautiful feminine feel to the card.  I stamped the image in black for contrast and added subtle pink and white flowers with a green ribbon for accents.  Then i finished it off with some tiny adhesive pearls and a smaller die cut at the top to add more interest to it.

You can see all the new stamps HERE<<<<<

Enjoy your day and have fun doing something creative today!!

Music speaks to us all

Hi Quietfire Design stamp friends, it's Teresa here today to share two new cards i made up for you with the newest stamp release from Quietfire Design.  My first card i used "Where words fail" and created a muted color scheme with pretty shades of tan, light pink and grey.  I love to find papers that have music on them so this collage type paper went really well.  I shaded around the inside of the die with light pink ink to make the sentiment stand out more and finished it with a pretty bow in tan silk.

My second card i used another new stamp from the Quietfire store.  I really love this beautiful sentiment and being a music fan myself i can so relate to the words of music bringing life to things.  For this card i used a die to create an ivory border around my sentiment and then layered pretty papers in shades of ivory, grey and black to make the base.  The sentiment i wanted to be sheer so i stamped that on vellum.  Then i just finished it with a pretty ivory bow to match and a pink flower that i made from die cuts.

Here is the links to get the stamps in the Quietfire store for you!

I came, I saw, I loved.....

Today i have another share from the brand new stamps just released from Quietfire Design stamps.  This is one of my favorite stamps called "Veni, Vidi, Amavi" from the set so i paired it with a really pretty ornate chipboard frame and then used Prima's new Lavender collection for the papers.  Since all of it is so ornate already i kept the card design simple and added just a touch of purple to the chipboard frame i used and a pretty bow and flower to finish it off.  I love easy and this stamp is so beautiful my card will be perfect to send to my friend.

And i have a second project to share with you today using another of the brand new release stamps called "Life doesn't have to be perfect".  For this project i wanted to make a frame to decorate in my house so that it would remind me each day of how truly wonderful life can be if you look at it in a different way than being perfect.  I used a small wooden frame that i picked up for $1 and painted it both front and back in brown and then sanded the edges and let it dry.  Then i cut Bo Bunny papers to fit around the chipboard sentiment to make it pop more and glued them together.

For the stamp i used Versafine ink in brown and embossed it and then chalk inked around a chippy frame from GSLC and glued that together.  Then i glued all of it to the frame and added a pretty bow with some twine and a few flowers from my stash.  Super easy and super fast to make.  Something like this would be a great gift for a wedding or you could use one of our cute birthday stamps too!

Thank you so very much for stopping over today!

New Digital Paper from Quietfire Design

Hi it's Teresa here using a brand new addition to our already gorgeous line of digital papers called "Go Fly a Kite".  There are 3 sets in this new line that you can download/print to coordinate with your projects in beautiful shades of pale aqua, dark aqua and this gorgeous shade of avocado.  I love how all the prints mix and match so well together and the best part is if you mess up you can print a new piece.  And there is a new stamp in the Quietfire store that goes perfect with it and it's a quote by the amazing Winston Churchill.  It is called "Kites rise highest".   You can't get any better than that.  I created a simple card to let the papers really stand on their own and then framed the sentiment in with a fancy die cut shape.  All it needed was a pretty bow and metal button to finish it off.

The sentiment really is gorgeous and matches perfect with the kite papers don't you think?

And i printed up some extra papers in the dark red and dark aqua shades and used our new " Life doesn't have to be Perfect" stamp for it.  For this card i actually printed on only one side of the paper so that i could cut and fold it to make the card base like you see above.  And then i just cut a small piece of the printed kites to match with the diagonal stripe for the center panel and divided it ever so nicely with a leftover piece of the light aqua.  The chipboard frame i chalked to go with the prints and then stamped and framed the sentiment.

I love this one.  You could send this to anyone to cheer them up and think just a bit more positive :)

Thank you for stopping as always and i hope that you can pop on over to the store and try a few of these papers.  You are really going to love them...  Teresa

The Only Time Card

This week is a really special week because it's your first peek at the newest stamp release by Quietfire Design that you can see HERE>>>. I picked one of my favorites from this release that is perfect for alot of different occasions.  I love the swirls on this sentiment and it fit perfectly inside the circle die that i used to stamp it in.

The base is a black and ivory print so i found this chipboard design that was similar so i inked it with pink chalk ink and then sprinkled on some Stampendous antiqued embossing powder in pink and heated it up.  And this is what it came out like.  I went back and tipped the edges in the same pink chalk ink and added the ribbon bow with the rhinestone to match.  It was pretty simple to do and didn't take long at all so you can make up a bunch to send throughout the year.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to stop back and get inspired with the other new stamps!!

Happy Birthday with Butterflies

Hi Quietfire friends it's Teresa here with a brand new card i created using the Happy Birthday Clear set of stamps from the "A Way with Words" collection.  This set has lots of gorgeous stamps in it so it was really hard to pick.  But there are always lots of birthdays in our family so i can always do more.

The papers i used for my card are from a new line from Prima called Lavender.  It's filled with gorgeous roses and butterflies and it's perfect to use for spring.  You could even pull out your favorite Mother's day stamp and use it too.  (Click HERE for mother's day stamp ideas).

Fairies and Flowers

Hi and it's so nice for you to drop by and see what is new on the Quietfire blog today.  It's Teresa here today with a share for all of you looking forward to spring coming in the weeks ahead.  I found some brand new paper called Cherry Blossoms from Prima and i thought it was a perfect match to go with the stamp i had called "A Rustle in the Wind".  This is a set of 4 stamps, 2 are sentiments and both are just adorable.

To make my card i created a simple layered backround and then added a few beautiful die cuts in white to frame the sentiment.  Then i added some beautiful flowers from Prima and just a few pearls to make it sparkle a little more.

I also did a card a while back with the bottom sentiment so i thought i would attach it below so that you can have 2 ideas for this set.  Its fun to add extra glitter to this one with stickles or even use some of that superfine glitter you have stashed away for something special.

The Heart has its Reasons

It's Teresa here today!  It's almost Valentines day so I'm sharing a quick card using one of my favorite stamps called "The heart has its reasons".  Everything comes from inspiration so today mine started with this gorgeous stamp and a new stamp pad i got that has variegated colors of pink in the pad.

So I stamped sentiment on white paper to see how it would come out and then i picked these bright and cheery papers from Doodlebug to coordinate with it.  The simple dots don't take away from the stamp and really gives you that pretty pink feel of Valentines and is easy enough to make a bunch to send out or give for the holiday.

Here is a closeup so you can see how pretty the ink colors are and i love the heart in the middle.

You can find this stamp in the store right HERE......

Enjoy your day and have fun creating Valentines for all the special people in your life!!
