Rencana Pembangunan Terminal 4 di Bandara Soekarno-Hatta Cengkareng Mulai Disiapkan Target 90 Juta Penumpang Per Tahun

Rencana Pembangunan Terminal 4 di Bandara Soekarno-Hatta Cengkareng Mulai Disiapkan Target 90 Juta Penumpang Per Tahun

Operator 13 bandara di Indonesia barat, PT Angkasa Pura II, mulai menyiapkan rencana pembangunan Terminal 4 di Bandara Soekarno-Hatta Cengkareng guna mengejar target kapasitas terminal mencapai 90 juta penumpang per tahun.

Kepala Project Management Unit Bandara Soekarno-Hatta PT Angkasa Pura (AP) II Agung Sedayu mengatakan perseroan saat ini tengah melakukan proses perencanaan detail bangunan (detail engineering design/DED) Terminal IV.

“Kami lagi proses DED.

25 Juta Penumpang Per Tahun Dapat Ditampung Terminal 3 Bandara Soekaro-Hatta

25 Juta Penumpang Per Tahun Dapat Ditampung Terminal 3 Bandara Soekaro-Hatta

Jalan Tol Akses Tanjung Priok Sepanjang 11,4 kilometer Akan Dilintasi 3.600 Truk Kontainer Setiap Hari

INDONESIA Port Corporation (IPC), the largest port operator in Indonesia, is planning to invest US$2.47 billion in the development of Kalibaru Port, an extension to the existing Tanjung Priok Port in North Jakarta, Indonesia, according to UK's Port Technology International.

Upon completion in 2023, Kalibaru Port, or New Priok, will more than triple the annual capacity of Tanjung Priok from five million TEU to 18 million TEU.

Indonesia Port Corporation confirmed earlier this month that it had received approval from Indonesia's Presidential Regulation to begin works on the ambitious project, the port operator said in a statement.

The first phase of the project will include the installation of $1.38 billion worth of container terminal infrastructure and related equipment, while $730 million will be made available to construct the port's new petroleum product terminal. In addition, a further $305 million will be used to build toll roads, a power station and industrial area, with the remaining $50 million earmarked for other services.

Container transit in Singapore continued to decrease

Container transit in Singapore continued to decrease
tanjung_priok_jakarta_pelindo_II_better_performance

The volume containers which transit at the Port of Singapore continued to decrease. In 2009 as many as 60-65 percent of containers from Tanjung Priok, Jakarta has to transit in Singapore, while in 2010 only 20 percent, but now only 18 percent. In 2011, Pelindo II has discharged nearly 6 million units of 20-foot container.

"This accomplishment is due to the better performance of Tanjung Priok, Jakarta, the equipments more complete. The container to East Asia has shipped without transit in Singapore, "said Director of PT Pelindo II, RJ Lino.

Lino said in 2012 Pelindo II is also working to achieve the standard port of the world. "In the ports of the world, after (vessel) berthing, only took 15 minutes for loading and unloading. In Tanjung Priok still need 15-30 minutes, but at the other Indonesia ports it took two hours, "he said.

Lino asserted, Pelindo II will help the government accelerate work Inaport site so that standard is reached. "What also becomes the bottleneck is the desire to go up and down the quarantine on all vessels. That's a long time, "he said.

At the end of 2012, said Lino, Pelindo has finished installing vessel traffic information system (VTIS). With the device, vessel traffic can be regulated electronically, with no radio communication.

The bottom line, says Lino, all efforts aimed at revamping ports to reduce costs and optimize the logistics of port infrastructure without having to invest too big.
"In February 2012, a container vessel with a capacity of 5000 TEUs will be bert at Tanjung Priok, Jakarta. Soon, container vessel with a capacity of 6000 TEU will also come. With a large vessel, transiting in Singapore no longer needed, "said Lino.

Shipping industry observers from Sepuluh November Institute of Technology, Saut Gurning said, if the Korea, China, and Japan destination without having to transit in Singapore, logistics costs are more competitive.

"The container vessel which more likely to stop at Tanjung Priok, Jakarta is interesting from economies of scale. More efficient. However, it should be noted, not only the size of vessel that are important, but also requires the availability of routes and frequencies are competitive, "said Saut Gurning.

INDONESIAN Chamber of Commerce seeks delay in strict AIR CARGO screening

indonesia_air_freight_cargo_screening

THE Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has called for further six-month postponement of a new cargo inspection process at international airports, saying lack of infrastructure and manpower will cause bottlenecks, reports the Jakarta Globe.

Ahead of the planned commencement of the cargo inspection process next week, Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry chairman Suryo Bambang Sulisto said companies were not ready.

"There are only four cargo inspection agents handling 900 tons of merchandise per day. This will cause bottlenecks in airports, not to mention additional fees," said Mr Sulisto.

The regulation, designed to improve security surveillance at the urging of the International Civil Aviation Organisation, was first implemented in July at Soekarno Hatta International Airport. Packages are to be inspected individually, incurring an additional fee of 10 to 14 times the normal rate of IDR60 (US$0.007) per kilogramme.

When the system was implemented, chaos immediately ensued. A long backlog developed of cargo waiting for inspection, prompting cargo forwarding companies to strike, said the report.

Hundreds of tons of cargo, including newspapers, medicines and even human remains awaiting repatriation were stranded, incurring losses estimated in the billions of rupiah.

Hundreds of workers staged a one-day rally to protest the regulation that stipulated that only three companies - Duta Angkasa Prima Kargo, Gita Afian Trans and Fajar Anugerah Sejahtera - would be responsible for security screening of cargo shipments.
