Ta da

Beatrix is finished :)

The last stitch went in late last night.

I stitched her on 36 count strawflower from lakeside linens and used a silk from now Paint box threads as my main colour and for the highlights I used a needlepoint silk

More Beatrix

Quick end of the month update on Beatrix

I’m really enjoying working on her and would love to finish during Feb so I can stop feeling guilty for not starting the birth sampler for grandson #3 who is due to join the world on Feb 16!

Last updates of the year

I thought I had a more up to date pic of Lewis but I don't so he's not here.

This one of Esther Sleepe is out of date now because I've spent all day sat on my behind watching recorded films and stitching on her.
If I do the same tomorrow she'll be finished by the end of the day/month/year take your pick :0

And after a couple of weekends of not a lot of progress on the Tree farm I have finished band 1 which means I'm half way

Couple of updates

I've started on the last of the 3 projects and this is at the end of last week.
Lewis Hamilton and so far as much as I love F1 it's been a boring stitch with nothing but shades of grey and black and there's lots more of it to come :(

I really needed a break from other people's stitching and so I spent a couple of days on Esther Sleepe.
She last made an appearance here back in April and between that pic and this one I'd finished the band that was half done and and done most of the wide band under it that you can see.
In the last couple of days I've filled in the gaps in the wide band and done the two half bands

Esther Sleepe progress

I spent last week with Esther and made good progress on her.  I was hoping to get all 4 bands finished but life happened and I didn't make it

4 Seasons Sampler finally!

I fininshed it about 7pm on Dec 31 but it took me till yesterday to press it and take pics, yes I know I'm useless.

First I'll show you Winter which was the last bit to be stitched and also the month that convinced me I really needed to stitch it even tho this really isn't the sort of thing I normally go for.

Here's the rest of it

2011 JCS issues

I loved every stitch of this one and have to say a huge thank you to Daffycat for helping me get the issues I needed when I couldn't find them here.

Jan 1st start

As is normal for me I had a new start on New Year's Day this year I went with a kit that's been in my stash for a few years.

This is Esther Sleepe who was Frances Burney's Mother.

I do have info on where the original is but it's in the kit which is upstairs and I'm too lazy to go and get it!

I did also manage to finish my 4 seasons sampler on Dec 31 but haven't yet pressed it and made it presentable to the world (being rather ill last week put a stop to that!)

Another one bites the dust

AKA I finished the Birth Sampler which makes 6 PHD's that I started the year with finished :)

I had to use the flash for the overall pic so it looks a little washed out.

I think these guys are so cute and the pics have the added bonus of showing the colours so much better

The important bit

This week's stitching

I started and finished Fright and made a start on brew.  There are just 3 to go after brew and I'm hoping to to get at least one of them done along with brew this next week.

And for the first time in a couple of months I've worked on 4 seasons sampler and almost finished the floral band.  I've really missed this one and will give it's lots of TLC once the halloween flip its are done

Weekend progress

I had flat batteries in my camera so this is a couple of days later than I thought it'd be.
Not much progress this week but it all counts.

I may be quieter than normal over the next few weeks, I'm going to have to move sometime in the near future so have a house to pack

New weekend PHD

I thought it was about time I finished Caleb's Birth Sampler esp. as Teejay has arrived and I'm on the lookout for one to stitch for him.

So here how it started off on Saturday

And here's how it was Sunday evening when I finished.

And I've finished all the pieces for the Santa, those threads you can see will be used to put him together

4 Seasons update

I spent last week working on my 4 Seasons Sampler and I'm still loving every stitch of it

I just have to do the floral band and then I'll be half done but that's a job for next month.
Boy was I glad to finish the beehive in the middle, it's done in Smyrna crosses and I was really fed up with them by the time I was done!

Yesterday I went down to The Nimble Thimble to meet up with friends from Needlecraft Haven and of course a little stash came home with me :)
I'll be starting the Buttons & Beads on Wednesday as a SAL with Ursh who claimed I twisted her arm to buy the kit but I never laid a finger on her, honest

4 Seasons update

I've spent my weekdays so far this month working on my 4 Seasons Sampler (last update is here).  I wasn't ready to put it down and move on after the first week so carried on with it.  Have I said how much I'm loving working on this but I also know that if I carry on with again when I get home from Wales I'll end up not loving it for a while and I would really like to finish it this year.

So anyway here's a complete view of it so far

And a closer look at my progress

Jan 1st start part 2

This time it's my stitching start :)

This is the 4 seasons Band sampler from last year's JCS.
I'm stitching mine on 28 count fairy dust, I would of preferred a higher count but I didn't have anything large enough for it other than some 40 count that did nothing for the colours when I did the floss toss!
