April Gifted Gorgeousness

Gifted Gorgeousness is the brilliant idea of Jo to encourge stitchers to use those items in our stash that we have been gifted or those things we stitch that will be a gift.

I only have one bit of stitching that counts this month and here it is.
This is Christmas Delights an old freebie from The Cat's Whiskers stitched for the RR I was taking part in.   I was the last person to to work on this one with a theme of pink/grey so as you can see I used a Needle Necessities thread in pink.   3 times I counted and checked my placement and I still got it wrong :(

And I just realized that I could also included a pic of my completed RR as well now it's home but as yet I've not got round to taking a pic of it :(

Afternoon Tea Exchange

I went to the Needlecraft Haven meet up on Saturday and we had an Afternoon Tea Exchange.
This is my bag and it went to Diane (no blog that I know of)

In the tea cup is Curly Swirl from Glorious Cupcakes by The Cat's Whiskers I've wanted to stitch one of the designs from it since I got my hands on a copy and this was the perfect time

With the pins added

This is the one I received and it's from Racheal
Of course Rosie had to have an inspection of the contents!  There was a Battenburg in it as well but that didn't survive long enough to make it into the pic :)

Colour Exchange part 2

I was late sending mine out and it arrived yesterday but I only found out late last night so here's what I sent to Amanda

Winter Wonderland Biscornu
Cat's Whiskers & Dinky Dyes
NN 153

The bowls went well today and although we got knocked out we did make it to round 3 and won out first match.
This evening went well also but I'm really glad it's over and done with now. I've run off with Mum's camera card so take some pics off it (she had to act as photographer for me for the scrapbook) but my puter is refusing to read it tonight so I'll try again in the morning and hope it's ina better mood :)

The chair is done

I still have to do the fob but the chair and parasol are finished, the fob's the really easy bit.
Even with the top chopped off this is the best of the bunch of the chair (I'm still half asleep so my brain hasn't caught up yet)
And one with it's Parasol

It was so much easier second time around putting it together although the card for the drawer box is a little thicker this time so a little harder to score and bend. Oh and if you do decide to stitch it there's no wiggle room in the ribbon, if you make a mistake like I did you won't have enough

I finished the stitching last night

Garden Chair

All my stitching time for the last week has gone on this, doesn't look much really does it but bear in mind the wording on the chair back is over one and I had to unpick a line because it was one thread out. Had I been stitching it just for me I would of left it but I'm entering it in the Cheshire Show (June 17/18th) and the judges are picky and I would hate it if I lost marks because of it. Same with the date on the fob, I orginally had my initials on it but the spacing wasn't right and no matter how much I played about with them they still weren't even so I did the date instead and will put my name in some form on the base.

The fabric isn't as dark as the pic shows but that's what you get for taking a pic in the evening when it's cloudy out. Left to do is the rest of the arm rolls, drawer front, parasol, seat cushion & seat base. I have to have it done by June 15th at the very latest but with any luck it'll be done by next weekend when I go away for a stitching weekend in Derbyshire with several other UK stitchers
