2013 Goals report and 2014 Goals

For 2013 I said

Finish a TW  Yes, I finished Legends of the dragons

Stitch or bead an ornament a month and finish it  No, this one fell by the wayside and I ended doing them at the last minute

Stitch at least 6 squares for SOLAK  Another fail, I managed 2

Start and finish Santa's Village  I started it but didn't finish it 

Finish more projects than I start  No, I started 3 more than I finished

Keep up with the TUSAL  Ha, this one I did :)

Get my PHD number to below 25  Another epic fail.

I think the main reason I failed on so many of my goals for last year was having 3 projects to do off one lady and they took up so much of my stitching time that nothing else stood a chance other than whatever my weekend project was

For 2014 I'd like to

Stitch or bead an ornament a month

Start and finish at least 6 small TW's for the SAL (link in my side bar)

Have fun rediscovering my stash with Stitch from Stash 2014 (also a link in my sidebar)

Keep up with the TUSAL (another link in my sidebar)

Finish one of my Circe Des Cercles, most likely the beaded one

Finish Santa's Village

Get my PHD number to below 25, it's currently 32!

I stitched for 910 hours 55 minutes in 2013, had 30 new starts and 27 finishes 23 of those were new starts

December progress and January goals

For December
Finish Firefly Fairies  Yes, done 
Finish Lewis Hamilton (the last paid project)  No and I haven't in fact touched it for 10 days now
Finish Reindeer Stables  No, didn't even get to pick it up
Finish something else  Yes I finished Esther Sleepe
Decide on my January 1st start  Done and started

For January I'd like to 
Finish Lewis Hamilton
Finish my exchange project and get it posted on time
Not start more than 3 Guilt Free Jan projects
Decide on and start my first TW for the SAL

I stitched for 88 hours 14 minutes in December, had 1 new start and 2 finishes and 1 day of no stitching.

November progress & December goals

For November I said

Finish Legends of the Dragons Done 
Pick my new weekend project Done 
Get Firefly Fairies to just needing the beads but finished would be better I've started the beading
Start last paid project if by some miracle I do finish Firefly Fairies I've started it and will work on it in the evenings once I've done some of the beading on FF 
Post every day for National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo) Done

For December I'd like to

Finish Firefly Fairies
Finish Lewis Hamilton (the last paid project)
Finish Reindeer Stables
Finish something else
Decide on my January 1st start


I stitched for 96 hours 49 minutes in November! had 1 new start and 2 finishes and stitching every day.

Current PHD total = 33

Legends of the Dragons happy dance

I started this on January 1st 2010 as part of a SAL on the TWBB and after a bit of progress it got ignored until August 3 this year when I made it my next weekend project.

Here's a reminder of how it started out.

Sunday evening I finished Wisdom and so finished Legends and reached one of my goals for the year.

I've really enjoyed working on this again and while I'm happy it finished I'm a little sad the journey has come to an end.

October Progress & November Goals

For October I said
Finish the Stocking Store and make decent progress on Reindeer Stables but finishing it would be better   I finished the stocking store and did start on Reindeer Stables but that's as far as I got, Firefly Fairies have taken over! 
Finish Wisdom and so in turn finish Legends  No but I'm almost there


For November I'd like to
Finish Legends of the Dragons
Pick my new weekend project
Get Firefly Fairies to just needing the beads but finished would be better
Start last paid project if by some miracle I do finish Firefly Fairies
Post every day for National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo)

I stitched for 85 hours 57 minutes in October which is a little up on September.  I had 1 new start and 2 finishes and spent time with a needle in my fingers every day.

Current PHD total = 34 :(

September progress & October goals

For September I said

Get one Fairy stitched as far as only needing the beads  No, not done but I did take a week off FF while I was sick 
Finish Mrs Claus' Cookie Shop  Done 
Start and finish Santa's Stocking Store  Not quite, I still have the vine bit to finish
Finish Majesty and start Wisdom on Legends  Majesty is finished and the border round Wisdom needs the back stitch finishing so kinda done this one

For October I'd like to
Finish the Stocking Store and make decent progress on Reindeer Stables but finishing it would be better
Finish Wisdom and so in turn finish Legends

I stitched for 85 hours 1 minute in September which is up on previous months but given that for most of the month I was sick and not able to do much at all without being able to breathe it's no surprise really.
I had 4 new starts and 2 finishes, one of which I can't share until after Christmas as it's a gift for one of my Daughters and they both read my blog.  I also had one day of no stitching and that was the day I spent the entire evening in A&E.

Current PHD total = 33 :(

August progress & September goals

For August I said
Get one Fairy stitched as far as only needing the beads  No, but it is well under way
Start and Finish Mrs Claus' Cookie Shop  Started but not finished
Pick my new weekend project Done and good progress made
Get my fabric and thread sorted for the Dear Jane quilt I'm starting on Sept 1st  Done

For September I'd like to 
Get one Fairy stitched as far as only needing the beads
Finish Mrs Claus' Cookie Shop
Start and finish Santa's Stocking Store
Finish Majesty and start Wisdom on Legends


I had 73 hours 17 minutes of stitching time in August, 1 new start and no finishes and 2 days of no stitching but the chances are I did bead or knit on those days.

July progress & August goals

For July I said
Get The Zoo close to finished  I finished it :)
Make a start on getting caught up on Santa's Village  I started and finished North Pole Post office
Finish Again! and start Firefly fairies  Both done


For August I'd like to 
Get one Fairy stitched as far as only needing the beads
Start and Finish Mrs Claus' Cookie Shop
Pick my new weekend project
Get my fabric and thread sorted for the Dear Jane quilt I'm starting on Sept 1st

I stitched for 78 hours and 17 minutes in July, had 2 new starts and 3 finishes and 2 days of no stitching one of which was the day Millie passed the other I was at the beach with Teejay and family.

2013 goals update

Since we are now half way through the year I thought I'd do a quick review of my 2013 goals.

For 2013 I'd like to

Finish a TW    Not touched one yet but I do now know which one I'll be working on

Stitch or bead an ornament a month and finish it  Not quite, I've done a few but not every month

Stitch at least 6 squares for SOLAK  Can't remember if I've done 1 or 2

Start and finish Santa's Village  Started and I'm behind on it at the mintue but have a plan to get caught up

Finish more projects than I start  So far so good

Keep up with the TUSAL  An easy one 

Get my PHD number to below 25  Not near it yet

June Progress & July Goals

For June I said

Finish the Garden Ball  Done
Finish the Poppy Box  Done
Finish the Church  I gave up on this once I realised I didn't have a small enough bell for the tower


For July I's like to
Get The Zoo close to finished
Make a start on getting caught up on Santa's Village
Finish Again! and start Firefly fairies

Again and Firefly Fairies are both payed projects so my plan is to work alternate weeks on them and Santa's Village and of course keeping up with The Zoo at the weekends.


I stitched for 60 hours and 40 minutes in June, had 1 new start (Again!) and 1 finish and 2 days of no stitching :(

May progress & June goals

For May I said 

Finish Poinsettia House  Done

Start North Pole PO  No, not even looked at it

Pick a Birthday start  Done, although not much progress was made

Stitch an ornament  No but have beaded some they just aren't mine!

Make good progress on The Zoo  Progress has been made but not much
Get Garden pinball started and at least half finished  Done

For June I'd like to

Finish the Garden Ball

Finish the Poppy Box

Finish the Church

I stitched for 47 hours 29 minutes in May, had 2 new starts and 2 finishes and 2 days of no stitching!

For April I said

Finish Poinsettia House  Not quite I have the scroll bit at the bottom left

Start North Pole PO  No

Stitch a SOLAK square  Yes and posted it off as well

Stitch an ornament  No

Make good progress on The Zoo  Could of done more but at least it did progress

Get Garden pinball started and at least half finished

I stitched for 47 hours 11 mins in April, had 2 new starts and finished both of them and I spent time with my needle every day

March Progress & April Goals

For March I said

Finish Runekeeper   Done along with Namaste which wasn't on the list

Start and finish Poinsettia House  I've started it but not not finished

Make a start on North Pole PO  Not touched it

Stitch an ornament  It's stitched and made up it just need's a cord making

Stitch a SOLAK square  Nop

For April I'd like to

Finish Poinsettia House

I stitched for 83 hours 42 mins in March, had 4 new starts and 6 finishes and just one day of no stitching.

February progress & March Goals

Few days late this month but I didn't want this to be my 1000th post

For February I said

Finish Santa's House  Done

Start and finish Poinsettia house if it arrives early enough in the  month Haven't got it yet :(

Get the rest of my stuff from Mum's and DBF's  I have my stuff from fella's house and there are just a few boxes of books left at Mum's

Get the Krenicks I need for Runekeeper  Done

For March I'd like to

I stitched for 62 hours 36 mins in Feb, had 3 new starts and 2 finishes and just one day of no stitching.

January Progress & February Goals

For January I said

Start no more than 5 GFJ (Guilt Free January) projects Whoops I had 7!!

Do a square for SOLAK  Done 

Stitch an ornament  Sort of, did the flying Santa he's still an ornament just not for the tree

For February I'd like to

Finish Santa's House 

Start and finish Poinsettia house if it arrives early enough in the  month

Stitch an ornament

Stitch a SOLAK square

Get the rest of my stuff from Mum's and DBF's

Get the Krenicks I need for Runekeeper

I stitched for 100 hours 42 minutes in Jan, surprised myself with that one but I guess having some snow and a bad foot helped a little.  I had a needle in my hand every day which lead to 7 new starts but I finished 4 of those so I think I did pretty well.

2012 Goals report & 2013 Goals

For 2012 I said 

Finish a TW  No but I did work on one a little
Finish Mary Wigham  Yes, Done mid year

Stitch an ornament a month and finish it Yes although some month's they were beaded

Stitch or bead at least 12 Dragons in honour of 2012 being the year of the Dragon  I managed 6 :(

Keep up with the TUSAL  Done

Get my PHD number to below 25  No, failed again :(

For 2013 I'd like to

Finish a TW

Stitch or bead an ornament a month and finish it

Stitch at least 6 squares for SOLAK

Start and finish Santa's Village

Finish more projects than I start

Overall in 2012 I stitched for 918 hours 47 minutes which averages out to a few hours a day so although it sounds a lot it's no more than average really I'm just a bit odd in keeping track!

I had 30 new starts and 32 finishes and I ended the year with 30 PHD's

December Progress & January goals

Happy New Year

For December I said

Move house without to much hassle  It went OK although some of the promised help didn't turn up

Finish Namaste  No, I forgot to put the thread box to one side for it 

Finish 4 Seasons Sampler  Yes

Finish the Dragon Box  Yes

Sort out my Jan 1st start and get the fabric ready  Sort of I went with a kit in the end

For January I'd like to

I'm keeping my Jan goals small as I still have lots of unpacking and sorting to do over the next few weeks.

I stitched for 57 hours 5 mins in December, not bad when you think I moved and most of that was done in the last week as I finished 4 Seasons.  I had 2 new starts and 2 finishes and 3 days of no stitching.
