Welcome New Design Team Member - Jamie Cripps!

Sometimes you can't plan for things.   Things happen unexpectedly and seem to fall into your lap.  Such was the case of bringing on a new designer to our PSA Essentials team.   We had recently brought on Regina Mangum, and we aren't set to choose a new team until August.   But Jamie Cripps came along and she was too good to pass up!

When we are looking for designers to join our team, we are looking for people who are motivated by the love of craft.   Someone who has a blog and posts regularly for the fun of it - who has an audience and shares their passion for paper crafting, design, sewing, decor and entertainment.    We are looking for someone who has real talent.   And often times, that talent has been recognized by publications.

Jamie is quite accomplished when it comes to her creative resume.   She's been published in:

  • Creative Memories Catalogs
  • In a Scrap Creations
  • LTD Commodities
  • Making Cards Magazine
  • Michigan Scrapbooker
  • Momenta Winter Catalogs
  • Practical Scrappers
  • Scrap n' Art
  • Scrapbook News and Review
  • Scrapbook Trends
  • Scrapbook Trends - Cricut Magazine
  • Scrapbooking.com
  • Scrapjazz
  • ScrapStreet.com

She's on a few... okay, more than a few design teams.

  • Kanban Crafts
  • Momenta
  • Samantha Walker
  • SRM Stickers
  • Sweet Stamp Shop
  • The Twinery
  •  WOW Embossing Powders

And in the past, she's been on other design teams.

  • Creative Memories, Nov 2010- December 2011
  • Scrap Tales, Mar 2010 - June 2011 (store closed)
  • ScrapbookPal.com, June 2010- June 2011 (term ended)
  • Creative Charms, Oct 2010- April 2011 (term ended)
  • Glue Dots, Sep 2010- March 2011 (retired)
  • P K Glitz, Feb 2010 - March 2011 (retired)
  • Scrap Within Reach, Jan 2010 - Jan 2011 (term ended)
  • Sharing Memories Scrapbooking Store, Feb 2010 - June 2010 (retired)
  • Frosted Designs, Sep 2009 - May 2010 (retired)
  • Practical Scrappers, Aug 2009 - May 2010 (retired)
  • Busybee Scrapbooking - Local Scrapbook store, lead designer (store closed)

One of the most important things to consider when bringing on a new member of the team is their personality and if it's someone we'd like to work with for the next year.   Jamie is one of the sweetest people I have met! She's responsive to emails, bubbly and enthusiastic about joining the team.

Let's welcome her with open arms!  Welcome Jamie Cripps!  Now head over to her blog and check out some of her great work.  You can see her guest feature on PSA Stamp Camp here.  Here's a recent card she posted on her blog that I just loved.  Can't wait to see what she comes up with month after month using PSA Essentials stamps.

Meet the 2011-2012 PSA Essentials Design Team

I am pleased to announce the 2011-2012 PSA Essentials Design Team! Seven of our talented card makers are staying with us, so with over 100 applications to narrow it down to six people was extremely difficult. The talent pool was incredible. Ultimately we were looking for new styles and people that will showcase PSA Essentials Peel & Stick stamps differently than before. Meet these talented ladies!

Meet Kim Schofield, Scrapbooker Extraordinare!

Kim Schofield is a scrapbooker extraordinaire from Fremont, NH. She is currently also on the Sweet 'n Sassy and Say It with Letters design teams, has been published in Scrapbook News & Review and CARDS magazines and is Copic Certified. She's been a CAS Card winner on Splitcoast Stamper, a winner in Papertrey ink contests, and just recently had a card highlighted on The Cat's Pajamas Facebook page. Though her background as traditionally been in card making, after working for and teaching in her local scrapbook store, she decided to try her hand at scrapbooking. Turns out she's good. She believes her ideas actually flow more freely with scrapbooking than card making. Visit her blog at: http://paperiepetals.blogspot.com/  and take a peek at her work here.

Meet Vera WiriantaYates, a whimsical, CAS carmaker!

It's true. I accepted one more card maker. But I couldn't help this one. Vera has been published 5 times in the last year in Paper Crafts Magazine, one of our favorites here at PSA Essentials. She also has two more cards coming out in CARDS and The Stamp It Special Edition. She lives in Sugar Land, TX and is on the Some Odd Girl, Wee Memories, May Arts, Lawnscaping & A Day of Daises design teams. She was on Paper Crafts 2010 Gallery Idol Top 5 and 2011 Stamping Royalty Honorable Mentions. Her clean and simple style will really highlight PSA Essentials and I am a sucker for someone who isn't scared of white space. Visit her blog http://www.lingshappyplace.blogspot.com/ and here's a peek at some of Vera's work.

Meet Mandi Hadfield, home décor specialist & artist!

From Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada – you will find it hard to believe this is Mandi's first design team when you see her work!  Her specialty is vinyl lettering and creating beautiful pieces of artwork on canvas and other materials. She was chosen to expand PSA Essentials stamp uses beyond card making & scrapbooking. She envisions using our stamps in home décor projects using canvas, mirrors, glass, tiles, wood… and she thinks the possibilities are endless! Get ready to see some artwork from Mandi! Visit her blog http://www.stikmup.blogspot.com/ and take a peek of her work here.

Meet Heidi Ferguson, the quilter!

The quilter? But this is a stamping blog? I know. But Heidi is super talented and we are going to see how she incorporates stamping with PSA Essentials Peel & Stick stamps into her quilting, sewing and home décor projects. Her DIY projects have been featured on the popular and highly visible blogs: Tatertots & Jello, Today's Creative Blog, UCreate, Centsational Girl, The Inspired Room, Tip Junkie and several others. She has two boys - her proudest creation – and is the sole designer and creator of all the puff quilts and baby bedding sold at her business, Honey Bear Lane. Visit her blog: http://www.honeybearlane.com/ and check out a few examples of her work here:

Meet Angie Holden, our design for less DIY designer!

You see something in Pottery Barn, or your favorite home décor catalog, but it costs an arm and a leg. Enter Angie Holden to help you create the same project for a fraction of the price. Most people want that magazine look for their home but don't have the budget to create it. With a little creativity and DIY imitative, anyone can have that magazine cover to their home. And see how she's going to do it with PSA Essentials stamps! Visit her blog at  http://www.thecountrychiccottage.net/  and peek here at some of her work.

Meet Mae Armstrong, a DIY party planner & step-by-step crafting instructor!

From Raleigh, NC, Mae Armstrong is the mother of twin boys and had me with pictures of their 1st birthday party. It's something straight out of a Martha Stewart magazine. She's a skilled graphic designer – fluent in Illustrator, Photoshop, and others that I am dying to master. Her work has been featured on Tip Junkie, Catch my Party, My Party Impressions, Spaceships and Laser Beams, Pure Joy Events, Polka Dot Party, Sheek Shindigs, Blowout Party, Pirates and Princesses, A to Zebra, A Chi Chi Affair, Kinderplays and Little Monster Studio. Best of all for our readers, Mae offers great tutorials and step-by-step instructions on how to create projects.   Witness this step by step tutorial on party hats and visit her blog http://maearmstrong.blogspot.com/ and see what had me from the minute I saw her here.

Join me in welcoming the new ladies by posting a comment about what you LIKE above!

Meet the 2011-2012 PSA Essentials Design Team

We have seven returning designers for the 2011-2012 design team term. Between the seven, their PSA Essentials cards and layouts have been published 56 times in the last year. Their work is professional, beautifully crafted, well-photographed, and we love, love, love how they showcase PSA Essentials Peel & Stick stamps. Learn more about these talented ladies that make our crafting department possible at PSA and see some of my favorite cards (that I can show you!)

CARLY ROBERTSON

Carly Robertson (http://carlyrobertson.typepad.com/paper-in-bloom/) is taking a bit of a blogging paper crafting break but we are happy to have her back on our team. Her work has been published in Paper Creations, Paper Crafts, CardMaker, Just Cards, Scrap & Stamp, and her clean and simple style and photography blow us away. Here's a look at a few of my favorite cards by Carly.

JEANNE STREIFF

Jeanne Streiff (http://inkypaws.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/) is on design teams for Discount Cardstock, Flower Soft, The Stamps of Life, Impression Obsession, High Hopes, Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, Outlines. She's been on design teams for Splitcoast Dirty Dozen, Prism Papers, Unity Stamp Co., Hanna Stamps, My Favorite Things, Whipper Snapper Designs. Jeanne is also moderator on Splitcoast Stampers and one of the most "connected" designers in the craft world I have ever met. Her work has been published in every issue for the last year or more in CardMaker, and she landed the cover in September 2010. She's been in Paper Crafts (Holiday Cards and More Volume 5) and her work was featured in Coloring Techniques for Card Makers. I had trouble finding work that I could show of Jeanne's because most of her designs have been picked up by publications. Here's work she did for us for HSN.

JENNIFER HOLMES

Jennifer Holmes (www.simpleflourishes.com) has been published in Scrapbook Etc, Card Creations Volume 8, Paper Creations, CardMaker and racking more up by the month. She's been on design teams for Waltzingmouse Designs, Purple Onion Designs, and Papertrey Ink (Click Simple Team). Jennifer is from Olympia, WA and her clean and simple but also layered style is a real asset to the team. I also had trouble finding work of hers that I could show since she's had so many assignments picked up in the last few months by publications!

KELLEY EUBANKS

Kelley Eubanks (http://www.myfrontporch-kelley.blogspot.com/) got her publishing start in Paper Crafts in January 2010. Since then scored numerous of other cards in that publication, one of our favorites at PSA. In the Paper Crafts special issue, Color Inspiration for Card Makers, she had 10 cards! That's unheard of for any designer. She's also been published in CARDS, Scrapbook Trends, and Create Idea Books. Kelly was instrumental in the success of HSN appearances in April 2011. Her cards and banner appeared live on both segments and she helped create the step-by-step projects I finished on air. She's my go-to gal when an editor requests something specific, and she's one of the sweetest girls you will ever meet.

KIM MORENO

Kim Moreno (http://www.livingthecircuslife.blogspot.com/) returns with us to scrapbook. She's been published in Scrapbook Etc, Creating Keepsakes, Scrapbook Trends, Cards, Paper Crafts and Scrapbook & Cards Today. She was featured on the covers of the May 2009, July 2008, and November 2009 CARDS magazine and has several layouts in Memory Makers Idea Books. She was a Memory Makers Master Runner Up in 2008. She's been on a bunch of design teams, including Jillibean Soup and Core'dinations cardstock. Can you believe she has 5 kids and she still finds time to create cards & layouts? My hat goes off to her.

MELYSSA CONNOLLY

Melyssa Connolly ( http://www.fantastink.blogspot.com/) has been published in Paper Crafts Magazine (Card Creations Volume 8 and 9), CARDS (November 2010), Memory Makers Big Book of Scrapbook Ideas (May 2011) and had a feature in Canadian Scrapbooker. She's Copic certified and a graphic designer who's been on design teams such as Bombshell Stamps, ShortCuts, and Whimsie Doodles. She lives in Harmony, Nova Scotia. Her layered, shabby chic designs are to die for. She's got a terrific sense of humor and is a lot of fun to work with.

SUSAN DELANO

Susan DeLano ( http://susiesgoods.blogspot.com/) was a member on our first design team term. If you don't recognize this name, it's because she used to be Susan D'Anna. She took a 6-month break from the PSA Essentials design team to focus on her wedding. She's being published in Paper Creations Magazine this Spring with a bridal suite including an invitation, table marker, place card, and favor. She's into sewing, decorating, cooking and loves crafting for a party. She's also one of my closest friends… but no bias here – her work is fabulous!

Please join me in welcoming back these design team members! You may see some of their work on the blog, though more likely, you will be seeing them in our favorite crafting publications! Our new design team members will be announced tomorrow – there are 6 of them – and they are spectacular.
