Meet Mocha, this Week's Tuesday's Tale!

Hi buddies!

This week we'd love for you to meet sweet Mocha!

Mocha is a beautiful young Pit/Lab mix. The description on her Petfinder.com page says that she's full of energy and will make a great jogging partner. She's very friendly and has a great disposition. Mocha is in great condition and is a new arrival at the Newark Humane Society's shelter. She is very good on her leash and was easy to walk. No soft toys for her 'though, as they will be history, a good nylon bone would be better! Good food test, And she releases the raw hide when asked.
The shelter recommends a "one dog family" for her, as she is reported not to be good with other dogs.

Just look at that happy face! What a wonderful picture (and what a difference it makes too)!

Mocha is currently at the Newark Humane Society, in Newark, New Jersey.  And with each adoption, the Society will present a DVD on TRAINING YOUR DOG or YOUR ADOPTED CAT at no charge. The dog video will include problems with chewing, jumping, mouthing, etc., but who trains a cat, BOL? There are $300 worth of free coupons offered with the dog video and $100 in free coupons for each cat adopter. It's a win - win buddies!

The Tuesday's Tails Blog hop features shelter pets, all waiting for their forever homes. Please consider featuring a cat, dog or any pet at your local shelter on your blog and join the hop! Sharing these friends will certainly improve their chances of being adopted!

Tuesday's Tails, Meet Bosco & Rosco!

Hi buddies!

This week we'd love for you to meet Bosco and Rosco! Just look at these faces!

Here's their story from their Petfinder.com page:
"Bosco (more white faced) and his brother Rosco (short tail) are two very tight knit, 18 month old brothers. Their love for one another is unmeasurable. They do everything together and so it was only fitting their evaluation be as one. These two are a duo. Together they walk well on the lead. Apart they get upset and cry.
"Both Bosco and Rosco are very gentle and loving. They enjoy toys and share them well. Both have no issues being handled head to tails even while they eat. Bosco and Rosco are good with people and other dogs. They love to go for walks and to just hang out. They are a beautiful pair of Old English bulldogs (Eng. Bulldog/pit cross). They would make any bully lover happy and proud. These are beautiful dogs with big hearts!"

*sigh*

These fellows are currently at the Newark Humane Society, in Newark, New Jersey.
All my paws are crossed for these two! Hoping that they find their forever home, together soon!

L and M, Looking Marvelous!

Trying to keep up with the "A to Z Blog Challenge"!
Since we're participating in the "A to Z Blog Challenge, we thought it would be nice to introduce you to a couple of cuties at the Associated Humane Societies in Newark NJ, with the initials L and M!

Here's Lala!

This is what her friends at the shelter have to say about Lala.

"Lala is a recent owner surrender. Owners couldn't keep her, she is petite with a slender body. She was so happy we took her out and her puppy energy came out from being cooped up in the kennel. But as happy and energetic she gets, she will immediately "sit" when you give her the command. She needs a family to play with in a back yard. She still is a little puppy mouthy but that is easily corrected. Cute and sweet. No resource guarding, shares her toys and good by the food bowl."

 Next, here's Mikey!

Here's the information from Mikey's Petfinder.com page:

His friends at the shelter say that Mikey is an awesome Lab "Heinz 59" mix, with a great temperament. He's only 10 months old, loves to cuddle and give you kisses. He is "so gentle and sweet". Mikey was gentle with treats and did well on his food test. He didn't show much interest in the toys there but is great with other dogs. A "really nice dog. Very adoptable. We love him."

Lala and Mikey, along with many other wonderful pets, are available for adoption at the Associated Humane Societies in Newark, New Jersey. All pets at the shelter are up to date on their shots and will be altered and micro-chipped once they've been adopted.
Please visit their website or give the shelter a call at 973-824-7080.

The Society offers free DVDs with all cat and dog adoptions at no charge. $300 worth of coupons are offered to each new dog parent and $100 worth of coupons for each new cat parent too!

Tuesday's Tails!

Hi buddies!

Today we'd love to introduce you to Apollo

Apollo has a captivating smile! Here is what the folks at the Newark Humane Society has to say about this handsome pup:

"Apollo is a young Staffie mix who was surrendered, he was a house dog and from the way he acted he was in the house most of his life and most likely is house trained. He is sweet and easy to handle, he's attended several outings and a adoption day and has been a gentleman to all, people, dogs, etc. Very well behaved at those functions. He is sweet and loves to be handled. He seemed fine with all the passing dogs, had a good food test and gently took treats from us. He's just a sweet big baby looking for a another home like he had before. He is in really good condition. Nice calm gentle boy. Great dog."

We love the wonderful photos, taken by Stacey Gammon of Stacey Gammon Pet Photography, of the adoptable dogs and cats on the Newark Humane Society's Petfinder pages, including this one!

Apollo, all dressed up, looking for his forever home!

This week we would like you to meet sweet Sadie!

According to Sadie's Petfinder page, she was lost and roaming the streets. The rescue is surprised that no one has come forward to claim her, since she's a real "love bug". They've done all that they could to locate her family, with no luck.

The volunteers think that Sadie is about 4 years old, and she weighs 15 pounds.

Sadie is up to date with all her shots and has been spayed. She'll be micro-chipped once she's adopted so she'll never have to worry about being lost again.

Sadie is currently being fostered by All Star Pet Rescue, in Linden, NJ. You can contact them at AllStarPets@comcast.net or visit their page for more information.

Thanks for stopping by buddies!

Hi buddies!

Today we would like to introduce you to Honey girl!

Just look at that sweet face!

According to her bio, "Honey is a very motivated and high energy 8 month old pointer hound mix from the south. She is still very much a puppy on lead and gets very excited to meet and greet both people and other dogs. Her previous owners showered her with love and food but forgot the training. Once she grew out of the cute little puppy stage she ended up here.
"Honey will allow and even beg for you to touch and handle every inch of her. She loves to jump on people and has a very high energy level so she will need an active family to run and play with. She is a happy and well-adjusted puppy. She loves toys and is more than happy to share them with you. She will sit for food or treats but only for a second. She is gentle with taking food and doesn'€™t mind sharing her food or its bowl. Honey is great with other dogs but her puppy energy and lack of self-control makes her better for dogs her size and energy level. Honey's favorite thing to do is get her picture taken. She will instantly calm and sit when she sees a camera pointed at her."

If you're interested in learning more about Honey, please visit her Petfinder.com page or contact the Associated Humane Societies in Newark, New Jersey.

Now for some good news! Remember sweet Ratchet from a Tuesday's Tails a few months ago?

We found out that he has found his forever family! Way to go Ratchet!

The Friends of Union Township Animal Shelter's Face Book page had the good news, but somehow mom missed it!

Here are the some of the most happy words we've read in a long time:

"Friday the 13th - Ratchet's luckiest day. 2 years, 8 months, 13 days. Unheard of in a municipal run shelter. A dog with sensitive skin, high prey drive, initially knowing absolutely nothing. He typically never would have been given a chance. Ask anyone who knew Ratchy, he was worth the chance, he still is. 2 years, 8 months, 13 days. He waited in his kennel thinking the shelter was home and the staff and volunteers were his family, and we all are.

"Today Ratchet found someone that didn't overlook the big black dog in the last kennel. Today he found someone that doesn't mind his prey drive, and will help him work past it. Today he found someone that is ready to see what his skin condition stems from, and help diminish it. Today he found someone that loves him as much as we all do - and then some. Today he found someone that saw past the big black dog, saw past the "flaws", and just fell in love. Today... Ratchy found forever!"

Thank you to the wonderful people working at the Union Township Shelter and to all the shelter volunteers!
And thank you for stopping by!

Tuesday's Tails

Hi buddies!

For today's Tuesday's Tails, we'd like to introduce you to Snickers!

Snickers is currently at the Associated Humane Society in Newark, NJ. From what the shelter says about her, she sounds like a very sweet soul!

      From her PetFinder page:
"SINCE SNICKERS WENT HIKING THIS WEEKEND, WE DECIDED TO POST SOME OF HER BEAUTIFUL PHOTOS...THIS DOG IS AMAZING AND NEEDS A HOME!!"

"SNICKERS IS BEAUTIFUL DOG. ALTHOUGH HER CARD SAYS PIT I REALLY SEE GREAT DANE IN HER. AND SHE HAS A GREAT DANE PERSONALITY.. SHE LOOKS LIKE SHE HAD SOME PUPPIES AND THEN THEY MUST HAVE DUMPED HER, BUT SHE MUST HAVE BEEN A WONDERFUL MOMMIE TO HER PUPPIES, SHE SHARES A KENNEL WITH ANOTHER DOG. SHE WAS GENTLE TAKING TREATS FROM OUR HAND TO EATING HER FOOD."

We have to agree, Snickers is stunning! She is up to date with her shoots and will be altered and micro-chipped upon adoption. For more information, call the Newark Animal Care Center at 973-824-7080. You can also email the shelter from a link on Snicker's PetFinder page.

This week we'd like to introduce you to a couple of Treeing Walker Coonhounds from my "alma matre" Eleventh Hour Rescue!

First up is Charlie, a sweet 6 year old. Just take a look at him! He could be my brother from another mother!

Charlie gets along great with kids, people and other dogs. Unfortunately he was trained to tree racoons, so he wouldn't be good in a home with cats. From his posting "Charlie will be neutered, vaccinated and heart worm tested prior to placement in his forever home.  Previous hound experience is a plus.  Charlie is an absolutely WONDERFUL, gentle soul and would make a great companion for someone who loves a good hound dog." My paws are crossed that someone will fall in love with this fellow!

Next we'd like you to meet Nella!

She's a wonderfully trained 1 year old who didn't have it so easy in the beginning. She's very smart (like me!), housebroken and gets along great with other dogs!

If you have room in your heart and home for either of these coonhounds, please visit the Eleventh Hour Rescue site to fill out an application. You can also email Eleventh Hour at EleventhHrRescue@aol.com or give them a call at 973-664-0865.

Meanwhile at Chez Prudence, mom's still trying to place those kittens that someone "left" fur us last week. She knows that the sooner we can get them into a rescue or foster, the better their chances will be to get adopted!  Hopefully we can find someplace ASAP! I love my sisfur and brofur kitties, but I'm already outnumbered, barooooo!
Thanks fur stopping by buddies!

Last weekend we attended "Your Dog Is Worth It Too" event that L'Oreal hosts every year to benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure program. It's always a lot of fun, and this year the weather was perfect! Besides plenty of vendors, the wading pools and games, there are always lots of shelters and rescues in attendance,  including  my "alma mater",  Eleventh Hour Rescue.
While we were waiting in one of the lines, a woman was passing out cards for the Helmetta Regional Animal Shelter. She told us that the shelter doesn't get a lot of traffic and they would love for more people to learn about them. So this week, we'd like to introduce you to a couple of pups from Helmetta!

First up is Trapper! A treeing walker coonhound, just like me!

Trapper has a great personality and loves everyone he meets. He gets along with other dogs too. He's up to date on his shots and if he's anything like me, would love a spot on your couch!
Next is Toby! Just look at that face!

Toby is always in a good mood. His Petfinder bio says "You can not help but smile when you are around him. He is a huggable lovable guy that is going to be an awesome family dog." Toby's up to date on his shots too. If you think that you have room in your heart and your home for either of these sweeties, please visit the Helmetta Regional Animal Shelter's site and fill out an application. For more information, contact them via email at hrashelter@hotmail.com or give them a call at 732-521-6016.

Meet Skippy!

We have a soft spot in our hearts fur hound dogs, so this week we'd like you to meet Skippy!

This handsome Basset Hound is looking for his furever home. He's 8 years old, neutered, house trained and is up to date on his shots. His current owner has to go into a nursing home, so Skippy needs a new place to call home. He gets along with everyone he meets and would be a great companion.

If you'd like more information, please visit his Petfinder page or contact Friends of Linden Animals at folasinfo@gmail.com. Better yet, stop by the Friends Of Linden Animals website to see Skippy and other wonderful adoptable pets!

Tuesday's Tails

Hi Buddies!
Today we'd like to introduce you to Ratchet, a Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier Mix.

Ratchet is a cutie, surrendered  in March, 2011. His family loved him, but couldn't take him with them when they moved. He's been waiting for his forever family ever since. He's a pretty cool dude, letting himself get dressed up for the camera!

Ratchet is at the Union Township Animal Shelter, Union, NJ. You can email the shelter for more information at friendsofunionshelter@gmail.com or give them a call at 908 851- 5230!

Since my fursibs don't want me to forget about the kitties needing homes too, meet Chaos and Curious! BOL! Purrfect names fur kitties if you ask me! We share our home with two black kitties too, Wren and Sparrow, so they would love it if someone could open their hearts and home for this pair.

Curious and his sister Chaos are friendly and very playful.  They've been fixed, vaccinated, and are all set to go to their new home together!  Union Township Animal Shelter has an extra special adoption fee for them, so they will be able to stay together. Tuedsay's Tails Blog Hop

 Hi Buddies!

For today's Tuesday's Tails, we'd like to feature a few of the adoptable dogs available from my "Alma Mater" Eleventh Hour Rescue.

Meet Bluebell, a young Bluetick coonhound loves the outdoors!

This poor pup was found chained to a tree, but she's happy and safe now. Just waiting for a forever home. We really do have a soft spot here fur the hounds!

 Next we have Snoozy!

This poor fella was surrendered by his people to a high kill shelter *shaking head*. He's safe now, living with his foster family. Snoozy is up to date on his shots and is neutered. It's believed that he'll do best in an adult-only home. His new family will have to have some experience with scared dogs, as this poor fellow will nip on occasion.

Ceasar is a  3-year-old, 70 lb. Harrier Hound mix.

Ceasar is good with other dogs and he loves meeting new people! "He loves sleeping on the sofa, on the bed and lying on your lap - he thinks he is a 70-lb. lap dog!" This boy sounds a lot like me!

"Ceasar is a free spirit, ready to explore what Mother Nature has to offer (like a typical hound), therefore an active household is preferred & a fenced-in yard is a "must". He is house trained, crate trained, neutered, & up to date on his shots."

Please consider opening your heart and home to a rescue pet! Check out the Eleventh Hour Website for more information on these and other wonderful dogs and cats!.

We're still counting down to BlogPaws! Mom's being sponsored by the good people at Nutrish®, and we'd like to mention that a portion of the proceeds from the sales of Nutrish® go to the North Shore Animal League, BAD RAP (Bay Area Doglovers Responsible About Pitbulls, ASPCA and America's VetDogs (Veterans' K-9 Dogs).
 Thanks fur stopping by buddies!
