Portuguese Chicken Piri-Piri

Hello everyone.
I´m back with a post about Portuguese Chicken Piri-Piri. A Portuguese Menu reader asked me about this popular dish so when I went to "Churrasqueira" restaurant I remembered to take some pictures to share here.
Churrasqueira is a big restaurant located in Faro, on the road to the airport. The restaurant is big, well decorated and has excellent service. As part of the decoration there are a few sets of nice hand-painted tiles with chickens, very funny.
Chicken Piri-piri is a Portuguese specialty. Here in Algarve there´s "Frango à Guia" which is similar to the chicken in the pictures above. Very small chickens are seasoned with a special seasoning (garlic, lemon, salt and other ingredients) before grilled. Chichen Piri-piri is served with french fries, salad and rice. Here´s the pictures:

Yummy!

Eating Out: Pizza

Pizza has won a good position in our "top twenty" favorite foods.
Once in a while, I take the time to cook homemade Pizza from scratch but we also like to eat out. Well, nowadays, with our busy city lifestyle who doesn´t?
The pictures above were taken this summer in Faro´s "Telepizza" restaurant. We had a medium size (for 2 persons) "Carbonara Pizza" with an extra ingredient, sweet corn.
This Pizza company provides take away, phone orders with delivery service, plus restaurant. What I like most about this company is the price quality relation and "Crazy Wednesdays" promotion: 50% off any order.

Disclosure: I included a brand name in this post because I like it and as a part of Portuguese Menu "Restaurants" section. This blog does not accept cash or any type of reward to publish posts.

Chinese Food in Portugal

Hello everyone.
I´m a fan of traditional Portuguese cusine but I also enjoy other flavours such as Italian, Chinese and Mexican.
Recently, I had a fabolous meal in a Chinese restaurant so today I´m posting some pictures of this dinner out.
As a starter I had a vegetable spring roll and prawn chips. The main course was sweet sour pork, special Chao Min and xau-xau rice. I´d love to know how to cook this meals just like they do in this restaurant :)
There are very good Chinese restaurants here in portugal and this one must be one of them.
The food quality is excelent and prices are very affordable. Plus the service is fast and the staff is very professional and sympathetic. I´ve been their client since they opened the restaurant (about 8 years ago). They´ve maintained the overall quality and when I fell like having a Chinese meal, I always return there.

Portuguese Restaurants in Algarve

Hi.
As some of you know, I live in south Portugal, in a region called Algarve. It´s a touristic region that has great weather, many beaches and good restaurants.
I don´t eat out very often but when I do I try to select the restaurants I know that serve the best quality at affordable prices. I like eating out: Grilled meat or fish, Chinese, Italian, Mexican, and sometimes seafood.
Starting today, I will add to Portuguese Menu some pictures of my favorite restaurants and what they serve there.
Today´s post is about "Churrasqueira Sto António", a restaurant I like than only serves grilled meat and fish:

Check out why I like going there:

My favorites from this restaurant are: The huge but tender chops, squid kebabs, pork quebabs, chicken, and salmon. They serve very well and each meal can costs around 12.00 Euros for each person.
This time I had Squid Kebabs with rice and salad. Another great thing they have is desserts and an excellent small coffee we call "Bica".
See you.
