My New Creation!

Happy Fourth of July! :)

Today, I'm posting something that's only connected with Stampin' Up! in that I used Basic Black card stock in the project - but I absolutely LOVE this, and have to share it with you! :D

I saw a project on Pinterest that I really would love to do for a birthday party some day, but it will cost me a little bit for frames.

However, it really sparked me. :D

The base on this is one of those Febreeze bases with a flickering light in it; you put the scented shade around it, and it looks like a decorative votive candle thing.

Well, the sleeves are a little strong for my family, so I had this base lying around. Since I've cleaned out my studio, things don't lie around as much as they have in the past, and I told myself to either find a use or get rid of it.

Get rid of it?!?! That goes against every packrat instinct I have! :D Repurpose it is!

So, I printed out four of my vertical beach pictures from February's trip onto vellum card stock. I cut the Basic Black card stock to the correct length and width, then cut windows into it. I attached the vellum inside the windows with glue dots; I should have left a little more vellum around the edges for easier adhering, but that's a lesson learned for next time. :)

I love this. It's a quiet reminder of a wonderful trip, and my favorite place on Earth. Oh, and I got Volume 1 of my scrap book from the trip. You really need to stop by and see them both. :D

Have a WONDERFUL day, and be sure to make the time to stamp SOMEthing! :D

BLATANT ad, but I'm SO excited!!!!!

I've had a few people ask to see the photos that are in the calendar; here are thumbnails of them. They're all TN landscapes, and the calendar is printed on matte heavyweight paper, so you can write on the calendar part easily. They're being printed as I type - I take possession in less than a week, and I cannot wait!
We are SO excited!!!

This is a private printing; each one will be assembled by hand at the printer's, just for you. It is a 12-month calendar, with each month having a different landscape from rural Tennessee. Each month's picture is printed with a verse from Psalms on it. The calendar is coil-bound, and the covers are laminated - it will be a GREAT calendar that will give you or your gift recipients beautiful scenery all through the year.

It's a real deal at only $17.50 plus $4.60 PRIORITY MAIL shipping. If it's for a gift, we will ship directly to them, so you don't pay postage twice! We're going to begin shipping as early as November17! We've kept the cost as low as we can! Enjoy, everyone! Please feel free to forward this offer to whomever you wish. Any questions? Just email or call us! :)

You can click paypal us at pooh0612@aol.com, or contact us at HeavnlyPhotos@aol.com for mailing information for checks or money orders.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for all your support and encouragement. Be blessed!!!

AUGH! I'm caught in a MESS!

Would someone PLEASE stop the world for a while?? I need to catch up! LOOK at this mess - and I'm having a chocolate party tomorrow night!!! Not to mention the Hostess Appreciation Luncheon on Saturday....
So, any guesses what I'll be doing the next few days? Oh, yeah, things like baking chocolate desserts for tomorrow night, working on wedding photos, yadda yadda.... :D Cleaning up the stamping room is DEFINITELY in the cards, too. I can't promise that my DESK will be cleared by Saturday, but I've GOT to get organized, or this luncheon will NOT be fun for any of us!
Stay tuned for updates - and stamped things. (Think this next part to the tune of "I Am Pretty"....) I am busy, o so busy! I am busy, and crazy, and stressed! :D
OK, I'm going to go stamp something now. Make SURE you take the time to stamp something, too! :D

Starting the sad countdown until we leave.

It's Thursday. We leave the beach Sunday, then leave for Nashville again on Monday. I absolutely love it here; the temperature is perfect, the food is fresh, and the water has great moods! :)
If you think you MIGHT recognize this ship, it's probably true! :D There are two tall ships in Newport this week - and I THINK it's this one that was used in PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN!!! COOL, huh??? They're in town to let people take a look at them - and some lucky people get to go to sea on them, like this voyage. The ship is on its way out the river mouth to the Pacific Ocean. We just happened to see it on our way to lunch today, from the Oregon State University ocean center in Newport. And were BLESSED to get some gorgeous photos!
I'm starting to plan my next 10/10/10 class cards; it won't be long after I get back that I'll have to get to work! If you have a type of card you'd like to see on my Stampin' Up! site - http://poohisstampin.stampinup.net - please let me know! I've got a party the day after I get home, and it will be jumping right back in with both feet! I'll also be scrapbooking a LOT when I get home; I've got both our and Kaisa's memory books to work on. :) I hope you'll check out the schedule on my site, and come scrap with me sometime!

It was a beautiful wedding....

Isn't she beautiful? This is my stepdaughter, Kaisa. I'll post another picture of her and my new son-in-law, Jeff. The butterfly pin on her veil was her "something borrowed". We took SO MANY PHOTOS that it's proving difficult to choose the very best to highlight! I took this shot; I promise I'm not that biased, but she was more giving and thoughtful of everyone else around her than any other bride I've worked with!
We're at the beach now, "decompressing". It is SO peaceful and beautiful - I'm going to find it hard to go home. I am definitely going to enjoy every moment here!
Tomorrow, I'll probably post a photo of the beach - maybe a lighthouse, or something else glorious! :)
Let me know what you think of my portrait of Kaisa!

Just a few more days in Portland!

Good morning! :) I hope that, wherever you are, it's as beautiful a day as it is here. :) It was 60 degrees when we left our hotel at 9:15 this morning, and it's not supposed to get too hot today.

Yesterday was Mt. St. Helen's roadtrip day. Isn't it BEAUTIFUL???? In the midst of all the destruction it caused almost exactly 27 years ago, there are new trees growing, new rivulets of glacial runoff starting to find ways thru the debris. It's breathtaking - and, if you click on the photo and look closely at the top crater rim on the right side, you'll see that the mountain is still venting. When the wind blows just right, you can smell the ash.

I dreamt about stamping last night. :) It's the first time I can think of since we got here - must mean I'm ready to get back to work. LOL!!

Today is laundry day. Ken's going to go to a movie with his best friend, and then make clam dip with Kaisa for the rehearsal dinner tomorrow night. :) He's kind of still going, "She wants to make CLAM DIP with me as our last dad.daughter time together????" but I think it's sweet. :D Men will never understand women, and vice versa. LOL!!!!

Have a wonderful day today! Enjoy the little task you have to do, and enjoy the time you spend with your loved ones.

I'd love to have you join!

Hi, everyone! I'm so glad you're reading my blog! I want to share another opportunity with you; please email me at HeavnlyPhotos@aol.com if you're interested in this offer!

We have started sending out devotional pictures with a thought or two, and have a mailing list specifically for this. HOPEFULLY, we'll be doing it daily soon - it's difficult for me to get everything done on the laptop I need to, because Ken's working on photos a lot. :)

Anyway. This was a photo that went out last week. We don't make the thoughts too heavy, but I know that I appreciate a little breath of God's beauty in my email box every once in a while! :)

So, if you'd like to receive our devotional, please email me - again, that's at HeavnlyPhotos@aol.com. :) Have a wonderful day!

Life is good!

I wish you could see the things I've seen this weekend! We've had an incredible time; we went to Saturday Market in downtown Portland, and to Rocky Butte where we could see Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Helens. Yesterday, we went to pick up our friend, Corrine, and went to the Cedar Creek Grist Mill in Woodland, WA. WOW, was it something else! Not so much for the mill, but for the beautiful creek! What do you think???

In upcoming days, I'll get the contest for the scrapbook page entries up and running, and we'll see who wins! :) Those of you who entered, know that you have a great chance of winning - there weren't too many entries. :)

I'm going to post another blog in a minute; please be sure to take a look at it, and let me know if you're interested! :D

Have a wonderful day, dear friends. The sun is shining, so I won't be sitting at this computer much longer. :D

Portland, here we come!

Pacific Northwest, we're on our way!
OK, so we're not on the plane YET. :) But time is ticking away! I have to finish getting things ready for when we come BACK - I have two workshops the week I return, and want to not stress about that. :) Since there's a huge possibility all my stampin' stuff is going to get packed up while I'm gone and they redo my space, I'm going to get everything together today. At least, that's the plan.... :)
I'm pretty much packed - but I have the feeling I'm forgetting something, and I HATE that feeling! The dress for the wedding is still hanging in my closet; I want to make sure it has as few wrinkles as possible when I take it back OUT of the suitcase. :)
I will purchase the shoes for the wedding there; no sales tax in Oregon, and maybe I'll find something I'll just fall in love with. :D Besides my Crocs, I'm only taking some cute sandals - not to walk much in, but to wear with my "just for cute" outfits. :D
I WILL be online, and I'll have my cell phone, so if any of you near and dear to me need me, never fear - just let me know! :)
Until next time...! And please check out the links that are listed on the right side of your monitor - especially the photo one! :D

What a Sunday!!!

Whew!!!!!! It was another BUSY day. Church, then lunch, then to the store to buy some bubbles for our next assignment: taking pictures of Abby and her family. They arrived mid-afternoon, and we spent LOTS of time taking pictures - until our NEXT person for pictures arrived. By the time it was all said and done, we decided to go grab some dinner instead of cooking - it was 6:45!!!!

We had a picnic by the lake. It was the perfect temperature, and it was nice to just sit in the quiet of the evening.

How was your day? Did YOU get to blow bubbles today? :)
