NUDES GALORE

Hi.  I've joined a life drawing group.  What a challenge!  Actually it is a theatrical life drawing group. Well I'm not that good at drawing the body so I practiced like mad before I went. Cramming and more cramming.  Here's some of my practises, some of the life drawing class and some brusho fun because I got bogged down with all the practising.  I feel the cramming paid off.  Pity I didn't do it more when I was at school!

It's a new challenge and I'm loving it. There's always something new to try.  Isn't being an artist a wonderful world to belong to?

Have a lovely week, see you soon.

  1. Good stuff Polly... I really like the first one, the last one, and your page of sketches. It is indeed wonderful to be an artist, always something new to learn and explore.

  3. I really admire your enthusiasm and stamina Polly - you're work goes from strength to strength.
I was told a funny story a couple of years back about a portrait artist/friend who painted separate 'nude' portraits of a married couple. It isn't my story to tell but suffice to say that when the marriage broke up the husband approached the artist to make a few changes - negotiated at price per cm (extension)... what price manhood eh?

  5. Looks like your practice did pay off. These are fun and I like how you did each of them differently. Artists are lucky because there is always something to draw, sketch, paint, or try!

  6. All of them make different emotions. I like to explore these emotions looking through your art.

  7. They look great Polly . I should paint some more like this too. I did a lot of it in school, with pencil and charcoa, but not nowadays. Maybee after practising my catportraits I start with people. :)

  9. Braving the waters "au naturel" is one thing we would usually consider doing when having a shower or soaking in a bath.
