groovy baby...

Good morning everyone, how are you all doing, well and happy I hope...well we have another weeks respite from telling my Dad he cant drive yet, I never realised but he was really struggling because he wore very strong bifocal glasses, half because he basically couldn't see any distance at all and the bottom just reading glasses, so it wasn't until I saw him yesterday I realised he cant read because he cant wear the glasses as they were hurting his new eye...so off to the opticians we went and between us came up with the idea of putting clear glass in his right lense but adding the bifocal part for reading, that was the only way we could think that he would still be able to wear his glasses for his 'bad' eye and be able to still see with his new one...does that make sense, well it did to me and the optician lol...I took the opportunity to ask the optician about how bloody my Dads eye is, he said its not too bad just looks bad to me and was telling me that a few weeks back he had a guy come rushing in to ask him the same thing, he had sneezed the day after his op and hemorrhaged in the eye, he said he hadn't seen anything like it before and it made even him cringe, his story made the bones in my legs ache if you know what I mean lol...so its a week before his specs come back as they have to be sent away so his eye should be well on its way to being healed and he can maybe get in the car then...fingers crossed...btw are you fed up yet with my never ending stories of my Dads eye lol...right now onto my card for today which is for our new challenge at Crafts and Me challenges this time is our lovely Vix's choice and she chose Light Airy Spring Colours, this gorgeous groovy chic is called Fashion Melody and shes from Crafts and Me of course, I coloured her with distress inks and paper pieced parts of her dress and her headband...don't those colours suit her...the lush paper is another one of my hidden stash sheets and is from Making Memories Flower Patch collection and is called Large Floral Flower Patch, the large green check is the reverse...all I needed to finish my card was a peach and green ribbon and a huge Prima flower, don't remember the name of the flower pack I'm afraid...the lush sketch is from Mojo Monday and I'm also entering it for the Sweet Stampin Challenge and the Crazy 4 Challenges challenge...I'm having a crafting day today as my one yesterday was cut short by going out, so a lock in day in my craft room is called for I think...whatever your up to today have a brilliant one and if you have time pop on over to our Crafts and Me challenge blog and see the lush work the rest of our team came up with

cold, frosty and...er.....yellow?...

Good morning everyone did you have a fab weekend, I really hope so...we had a lush Sunday lunch and for a change I cooked...yes that's right I cooked it, did you all faint...domestic goddess I ain't but I can make a mean salad lol...I was watching my Daughter and Dad together yesterday...all those years separate them but they have the same smile and laugh and share the same sense of humour, it gave me such a beautifully warm feeling, I love them both so much...btw a few people have asked me why I never mention their names, for that very reason, its their names and I don't think I have the right to write about them and identify them by name without their permission, I'm sure they wouldn't mind but its just easier for me than asking them everyday...so basically its laziness lol...its the same with photos of them...I will ask my Dad if he minds but I know my Daughter wouldn't like it as shes hates photos of herself (shes my girl in that way) and I wouldn't want to upset her by publishing one without asking her...I had an email asking about paper piecing digi images the other day from Sheila (Sheila in Cyprus)...I will do a tutorial when I get the time if you would like it...ok now onto my card for today....ooooohhhhhhh I love this fantastic Winter Fairy Halla from Mo's Digital Pencil, Mo is a true artist isn't she, look at this little sweetie, just perfect, I coloured it with distress inks and added a little bit of glitter...I bought the acetate I used for the wrap last year at the Kings Hall, isn't it lush, its from Making Memories Mistletoe collection and is called 12x12 Acetate Snowflake Mistletoe, I love using acetate don't you but its a bugger to stick and manipulate, yes I know the snowflakes are yellow and yes I know what they say about yellow snow lol...I finished my card with some beautiful 15mm gold Berisford small check gingham from The Pretty Little ribbon shop, btw we still have a Valentine challenge on at the Pretty Little ribbon challenge blog if you want to join in...I'm entering this for the Stampalot monochrome challenge, Truly Madly Crafty challenge and the Cardmadfairys challenge too...I'm having a crafting day today, I love the kind of days I can just colour and colour to my hearts content, I get lost in colouring its so relaxing and usually don't stop until my stomach starts rumbling...whatever your up to today I hope you have a brilliant one

a little bit of fizzy...

Good morning everyone, I hope you have all managed to stay sniffle free, I'm fine just a head cold and we women don't let little things like that bother us do we...well unless your working with glitter then its a good idea to stop the sneezes before they happen as my desk is testament to...its covered with a layer of very fine white glitter...I cleaned it the best I could but never mind its very festive and pretty anyway lol, luckily it was after I was finished and I was putting the glitter away or else all the cards I made yesterday would have been covered too...I had a brilliant play day yesterday, love those kinds of days dont you...I didn't realise until later when I was in the bathroom washing my hands I was covered from head to toe too, thank goodness I had my glasses on...anyway onto my card for today which is using this gorgeous little Fizzy Moon Wish Upon a Star stamp I bought when I struggled through that crowd at Dunelm Mill...isn't he just gorgeous, mind I think my colouring of him could have been a bit better, I don't think I got the colours just right, I used my distress inks of course and paper pieced his fab little star, the papers are from the Making Memories 8x8 Noel speciality paper pack I bought ages ago...I love this pack but its nearly finished, I finished my card with some lush lace and ribbon and a button, the sketch is from The Sweet Stop challenge and I'm also entering it for the Cutie Pie challenge too...I'm off out with my lovely Dad today to get his Christmas present...he wants slippers but I'm taking him to a posh shop to get them after finally managing to convince him that I should spend more on his slippers than on shoes for him as he spends most of his time in slipper, now does that not make sense to you lot too...whatever your up to have a wonderful day

Good morning everyone I think Winter is definitely here don't you, we have frosty mornings and cold nights now and the extra blanket has gone onto our bed, I love blankets, the soft fluffy ones don't you...or are you a duvet person...my wonderful Dad isn't doing too well atm he discovered a lump in his side and the Doctor has said he has a hernia, its quite painful and as he walks with crutches it gets worse as the day goes on, so he will need an operation, I feel sick at the thought, he is 78 and has COPD and how worried will we be when he has to go through an operation, the Doctor has said he will get it done soon too, I know he will be fine and of course it isn't affecting him at all hes taking it in his stride, well I suppose one of us has to remain calm and not run round like a headless chicken lol...right now onto my card for today...I have another Sugar Nellie Adorable to show you today...ooohhhh and I tried out my new inks and look at the beautiful Winifred's hair, its from the Autumn series and is called Gathered Twigs, isn't it a fantastic colour for hair, sort of a reddish brown...lush isn't it, I was impressed with the colours as I thought they wouldn't be different but they are...more results to come I promise...I teamed the amazing Winifred up with these lush papers from a Making Memories 8x8 Noel speciality paper pack I bought a long time ago and of course I had to add a bit, well ok a lot of glitter to her shoes and the edges of the cut out holly...I finished with some buttons as berries and a couple for decoration...the sentiment is from the same paper pack, the fab sketch is from Stampin' for the Weekend and Im also entering this for the Simon Says Stamp challenge, Creative Inspirations challenge and Winter Wonderland challenge too...I'm having a crafting day today as I have some DT work to catch up and I need lots more playtime with my new inks (any excuse lol)...whatever your up to today wrap up warm and stay away from frosty spots

Good morning everyone and wow thank you all so much for the fantastic comments on my steampunk makes yesterday, I am so chuffed you liked them...Phil's home safe and sound, there was a bad crash at the motorbike race, I hate it when that happens because hes there and I'm here when I hear about it and all sorts of things go through my head so I was relieved to see him...it was another weird weather day here yesterday 22 degrees and sunny, go figure we get those temps in September lol...right now onto my card for today which is using this stunning Victorian girl digi stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil, shes called Winifred, I just love that cute outfit, I was going to paper piece her but really wanted to paint that outfit...I used distress inks and guess what, now don't all faint, just a little bit of glitter on the ground lol...this fantastic paper is from a set I bought ages ago, I think its Making Memories, I wish manufacturers would stick them into a pad...its a stunning paper, and the red is foiled...I added a two tone ribbon from my mate, I am going to be so devastated when I use all these stunners...I finished with my bargain of this year, this glittery Noel is a sale Christmas ornament I bought in the sales for 20p would you believe, ooooohhhh I love a bargain don't you...the fab sketch is from Mojo Monday, I'm so pleased to see them back from their break I missed their gorgeous sketches, I'm sure there was two more challenges I was going to enter this for but my paper pad has gone walkabout, you know your in trouble when you cant remember where you left the pad you bought for remembering challenges...oops lol...we are having a family Sunday lunch day today so everyone there and loads of yummy food...best Sundays ever...whatever your up to today I hope you have a brilliant one

art deco friends...

Good morning everyone I hope your all safe and sound...we went to my Dads hearing appointment yesterday and although I knew his hearing had got worse but I didn't realise to what extent, my Dads hearing has always been very poor as he worked in loud environments when he was working which permanently damaged his hearing but his hearing is only 15% in one ear and the other isn't much better...after all the testing and explaining etc my Dad was attached to a machine which would show him what his hearing would be like wearing aids and when I spoke to him his face lit up like a child, hearing everything so clear for the first time in a long time was written across his face, I had to choke back tears then and there until with a cheeky grin he said 'I didn't realise you sounded like that', I have a feeling he was being cheeky lol...anyway he has decided to go ahead and gets his fitting for them next week...it going to be very hard for him as he will have to wear them all day to retrain his brain to recognise sounds he has forgotten, it was described as when he flushes the toilet for the first time after he gets them it will sound like Niagara Falls lol...right now onto my card today which is one of the samples I made for Crafts and Me, this is one of the new Art Deco stamps, these friends are beautiful aren't they (sorry about the shocking photos but I think my camera is coming to end of its life bless it), I coloured them with distress inks and used a scrap of a My Minds eye paper for them, the sentiment is from Making Memories, I bought a whole sheet of these for 50p in a sale would you believe, I so wish I had bought more...Phil's coming home tonight as he has two days holiday booked, he needs the rest the poor man is tuckered out so I'm off to the supermarket to cook something nice for him...whatever your up to today have a brilliant one

the first of many...

Good morning everyone I hope you all had a good weekend, I had intended to have a blogging night last night but I fell asleep and didn't wake up for hours so many apologies everyone but with all the DT work I have atm its going to take a teeny while longer to get round all your lush blogs, but I will I promise...well we raided the attic, what exactly is it with men and attics...whenever I go to look for something Phil has always 'tidied it away' in the attic...must be their bear instinct and they are hiding them for when they hibernate...I found the bed covers I was looking for though, then we had a little mooch in the Town, and I convinced Phil he had to have a feature wall in the farmhouse living room and for that he needed wallpaper, I even managed to get him to buy the one I had my eye on...omg how good am I at convincing lol...although Phil bless him would give me the earth if he could...right my card for today is one of the first of many many Christmas cards I will have to start making and what a perfect excuse to use this cutie Sugar Nellie stamp called Snow Buddies...how sweet are they together, I coloured them with distress inks and added loads and loads and loads of glitter but I think I put a tad too much on the snowman and he ended up with a dirty looking face from it all...the gorgeous embossed and glittered paper is from Making Memories and the sentiment is from a page of sentiments from them too...I used some lush glitter board to punch out some Martha Stewart snowflakes and a smalled older punch too, I finished with a couple of ribbons and a bow...the lush sketch is from Stampin' Royalty challenge and I'm also entering it for the Allsorts challenge and I'm sure their was a Christmas challenge somewhere but I forgot where...I'm off to my craft room today and am determined to get all the work that needs done finished and sorted out so I can get blogging tonight...whatever your up to today have a good one

Mirror mirror on the wall - Sugar Nellie DT

Good morning everyone, before I went away I was having a chat about holidays with my Dad and he told me a story which I had forgotten about...my Mum and Dad were great traveller (my Dad still is) despite my Dad being disabled and walking with two sticks, they were going to Vegas and were offered an upgrade to first class but because they would have had to climb stairs they asked that a young honeymoon couple behind them in the queue get it instead, the couple thanked them and they got chatting when they arrived in Vegas and even asked to see my Dads video camera as he was thinking of buying one...about 4 days into their trip my Mum and Dad arrived back in their hotel to find the local sheriffs deputies waiting to see them, they all went into the office, my poor Mum nearly had a heart attack because she though there was something badly wrong at home, they were told a couple had accused them of stealing their video camera...can you believe it...thank goodness they had footage on the camera from Christmas so were able to show they had had it for a long time and my Mum even had her receipt (see you know where I get it from now lol)...the sheriff apologised and promptly went back to the couple to arrest then for making a false statement...how nasty was that to take a really nice gesture from an elderly couple and do that to them...it makes me so mad even to think of it...right my card for today is for the Sugar Nellie DT and using this gorgeous Homegrown Manga image Mirror Mirror, I meant to gloss the mirror but oops went clean out my mind...I coloured her with distress inks and this lush sparkly paper is from Making Memories flutter range and is called Glitter stripe flutter, I made a rosette with some lush pink, green and orange ribbons and finished with a button...have a wonderful day everyone
