Playing in Leederville..

The blue skies are back. Was pretty excited yesterday to head into Camera House to pick up a new lens for my Olympus OM-D.. been on my wish list for a while. The new 12-200mm lens is versatile both for wide-angle and distance. Took the above and below shot from the pedestrian bridge over to the Leederville train station. I always look out for the giants view, just off to the right above painted in 2014 by Kyle Hughes-Odgers. The last couple of shots while sitting in Greens & Co on Oxford Street. I think this lens is going to be lots of fun and useful too. Happy Thursday, take care and stay safe.. P.s. The skies are blue but it's winter chilly, always makes me smile to see the mix of coats and scarves = Perthites, and  then there are the tee shirts and shorts = visitors :)

  2. That's a nice lens Grace. It covers some of the nicest range of focal lengths used. I've been debating about getting one myself, but I'm also hoping to get the 300mmPro which costs more than I paid for both bodies.

  8. Cool shots. Yes even a great phone camera like my Pixel 3 cannot replicate a "real" camera

  12. Always wonderful when you can fulfill yourself a dream like that, Grace. Great shots, too.

Oh, your last words made me laugh, really :-)
What you call winter elsewhere mostly really is t-shirt-weather.
Just the other day it was so "hot" with 24C and I said to Ingo, "in Perth I´d need a jacket" :-)
Yesterday we even had 37C!!! THAT was great!

  15. I am so sad my useful "all purpose" telephoto lens broke and they can't fix it. Now I am stuck with either my fixed close up lens, wide angle (which I dislike) or very long lens (which is too big for general use). As a result I generally use my little point-and-shoot camera which at least has a zoom lens. Needless to say I am envious of your new lens.

  16. Your pictures remind me of Canadians in Florida.... wearing shorts and Tshirts while the Floridians wear their winter clothes during a "cool spell" which means anything under 25C!
Have fun with your new toy!
