Puppy card

Today I have a card I think a child would like to receive because it has a cute puppy on it.  I'll be sending the card to the Operation Write Home organization for a service person to send home.
Why I didn't give this puppy some ground to lie on, I really don't know.  I bet I was busy thinking about how to cut it out with the hat out of the die cut and just jumped into putting the card together.  Puppy looks like he's flying through the air, doesn't he?
I also wish I had added some twine below the image (which I got for FREE from Operation Write Home).  The sentiment is also from OWH.  I think the twine would have balanced the composition nicely.  Oh Well!!
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Thank you so much for coming by.

Designed2Delight Challenge

Today starts a new challenge over at Designed2Delight.  We want to see HEARTS!  The wonderful day celebrating love is coming around the corner.
I chose to use 2 images, which is just as easy to do with digital images as it is with regular stamps.  I just use MS Word to print my images, easy peasy.  I have 'Big Surprise Bear' and 'Love Ya Cupcake'
I kept the embellishments to a minimum in order to be able to send this card to Operation Write Home.  And since this card is destined for a service person, I did something a bit different to the interior.

I attached several sheets of notebook paper to the interior to provide plenty of writing space for the service person.  Its like a miniature notebook!

Might as well join in on some other challenges:
Going Grey With Scrap-Creations - Glitter (center of heart)
Paper Take Weekly - Die Cute Special
Top Tip Tuesday - #67 Anything Goes
House of Gilli - Anything Goes
Lexi's Creations - Anything Goes
Make it Monday - always Anything Goes
MyGrafico - Love and Valentines
I Brake For Challenges - clean and simple
Pixie Dust Studio - "Put Your Heart into It!"
Meljens Designs - SIO - Anything Goes
Digi Doodle Shop's Best - SIO - Embossing
Crafty Ann's - Lets Think Hot (hot pink)

Thanks for dropping by!

Do You Stack Up? Challenge #21

We are back for another Challenge at Do You Stack Up?!

We are looking for ANIMALS or animal patterns this week.  I know just about EVERYONE has some animal stamps or digis, so I hope to see a lot of entries this week!

We have 2 sponsors for this challenge and they are:
Stichy Bear: gives a $10 Gift Voucher for the shop (Stitchy Bear, Floppy Latte, Delicious Doodles images only)

And would you believe it?! Our talented Design Team member Miranda! Miranda gives 2 newly made only-for-the-winner digital images!  Miranda is very talented as you may have noticed from all her lovely card samples.

As a matter of fact, I picked one of Miranda's images for my inspirational piece:
This cute little bear kinda jumps out at you, doesn't he?!!  He wants a big hug from his very special person. I plan on sending this card to Operation Write Home and I thought the 'I miss you" sentiment by Clearly Wordsworth was perfect.

I used Ranger Distress inks to water-color the bear and then added some Twinkling H2Os for extra oomph.
I don't know what you think about it, but I am quite pleased with how the card came out. *patting myself on the back*
I think all of the Design Team did an outstanding job on the inspirational samples this week, so please take a gander over at DYSU.
And, in case it has slipped your attention, DYSU is looking for a few new DT members!  The deadline for applying for the team is June 2nd.

Challenges I am entering my card into:
2 Sisters - use a digi
Clear it out - any coloring medium
Really Reasonable Ribbon - anything plus ribbon, lace or twine
I Did it Creations - anything goes
Creative Card Crew - anything goes
Truly Scrumptious - anything goes
Stamptacular Sunday - BEARnecessities(sentiment is stamped)
Party Time Tuesdays - animal themed
Clearly iStamp - critters

Designed2Delight 'Delightfully Digital' Party Potluck

Designed2Delight is having a digital party this weekend at PCP & CDAC.  The party includes fun games and prizes.  I'm in for the prizes!!  Yea
The Potluck challenge had us pick 5 out of 10 suggested elements to include on a card or project using a D2D image.  It was fun to try to find something (well, 5 somethings) on the list of 10 items that would work on my card.
Bright, isn't it?!  You should see it in person, lol.  I colored this cute D2D image with Prismacolor pencils & OMS.  I just love this chicken!
The 5 elements I chose are: embossing folder, border punch, stripes, faux stitches & make your own flower (mine is tatted).  I must say, this card came out lots better than I thought it would!
Besides the Potluck challenge, I'm entering this card in:
Crafting with Deedee's Digis - make a card and donate it (mine will go to OWH)
Scrap-creations - freindship
PaperPlay challenge - stamp it out
Delightful Challenges - come fly with me (or wings)
Phindy's Place - embossing
Stamp Something - use a digi
Mark's Finest Papers - self made flowers
Catch the Bug - anything goes

Make a Wish

I made a plain ole birthday card.  Nice and generic.  I will be sending it to Operation Write Home for them to send to our troops overseas.  This is one super organization.

I was inspired to make this birthday card from the free cupcake image I received from Designed 2 Delight last week.  Just for posting a card made with the free image, Faith will send you a new image for the next week!
This time she gave out a cupcake image and the matching flower cluster.
I cut out one cluster and glued it on top of my ribbon bow.  The other cluster was left in a circle to coordinate with the dots of the background.  The dots in the background tie in with the round flowers.  See, there is some thought process going into all this madness!
It was lots of fun to take some time to myself yesterday and play.  My poor hubby had to go to Virginia and work all day.  On Sunday!  And today he is driving to New Jersey on his holiday! Its tough making a living these days!!
I hope none of you are working this hard!
