Just to Bug you

Isn't it fun sometimes just to bug someone?!

I've made a card just for that purpose........kind of.
I was sent a digital image by Hambo Stamps (for FREE) called "Mosquito".  I received the image just for playing along in their weekly challenge at Hambo Hoedown.

I decided one mosquito was just not enough to really bug anyone, so....
I turned the single mosquito into a swarm!  Yuck!!!

That crazy background is 'Acrylic Embossing' that I learned of through the Technique Junkie Newsletter.  All I can tell you is that it uses acrylic paint, an embossing folder and ink.  After embossing and inking and more inking, I finished with Stazon White ink which I think perked it right up!

Yes, I KNOW that brad is a dragonfly, not a mosquito.  It IS a bug for heaven's sake. And that is going to have to be good enough.  I don't think anyone makes mosquito brads.

Here is the list of challenges entered:
Hambo Hoedown - use image with a monochromatic theme
2 Sisters - anything goes
Phindy's Place - doubling up
Stamp Something - something embellished
Crafty Creations - seeing double
The Stamping Boutique - cool colors
Tuesday Throwdown - something metallic
CES - humor, funny
Catch the Bug - heavy metal
The Crafty Pad - embossing
Paper Playtime - summer (nothing says summer like mosquitoes!)
Simon Says Stamp & Show - anything goes
Clear it Out - anything goes
The Cheerful Stamp Pad - going around in circles

Thanks for stopping by!

Rolling, rolling, rolling....

Rolling over your present.....
Hey, this wasn't my idea.  It belongs to Hambo Stamps.

They sent me this digital stamp called 'Steamroller' for FREE last week for joining in on their progressive challenge.  And it came with this sentiment!
Love it!

He is working in a rock quarry where there is beautiful marble stone.  The background is a combination of 2 techniques from the Technique Junkie Newsletter, namely  Brayered Spots with Webbing on top.

Not much to say about this card, because it is a MAN's card or it could really be sent to anyone.

Challenges entered:
Hambo Hoedown - use Steamroller on a gate fold card
Creative Inspirations - no flowers allowed
Simon Says - anything goes
Sentimental Sundays - for the men in your life
Sweet Stampin' - its one for the boys

He's got the Doghouse Blues

Hello.  Let me tell you a sad story.....There once was a sweet pooch with a chicken for a friend.  I think he helped the chicken eat her chicken food and had too much!

Now, he is in his doghouse.  Its a really nice doghouse, but he is not feeling well.
As a matter of fact, he is looking a bit green around the 'gills'.
Being the snarky chicky that she is, (I'll call her Marlene, he he) she is making light of his illness.
Such a friend, just trying to cheer up the poor pooch!  Where's the sympathy?!

Okay, back to reality.  This cute image and sentiment was sent to me for FREE by Hambo Stamps.  I played in their progressive challenge last week, so I get this digi - 'Doghouse Blues' sent to me in my email. Love it!!

You're How OLD?

Oh, one better know without a doubt that the receiver of THIS card has a BIG sense of humor.

Or you could send it to someone you don't like.

I think its funny, but I'm not so sure I would like to receive a card like this...just sayin'.  I think a man would be okay with it though.

Its a very cute image called "Laughing - digi" by Hambo Stamps. It was sent to me for free as part of Hambo Hoedown's weekly progressive challenge.

Of course, once again I got so involved with the image that I forgot all about the challenge requirements!  What is wrong with me?!  Sheesh!

Luckily I used a red patterned paper, so I added the teal (or maybe its turquoise) flower rhinestones to make it acceptable.  Whew!

So, here are the challenges I'm entering:
Hambo Hoedown - use Laughing &  red & teal
Whimsie Doodles - to die for
Meljens Design - red, white, & blue
Stamp Something - pretty papers
Wag 'n Whiskers - one for the boys
2 Sisters - for a guy
Catch the Bug - its a man's world
Thanks for swingin' by

Tie One On!

Some Dad's may tie one on this Father's Day...but many will not be wearing a tie that day.  Did you think I meant something else?!

Hambo Stamps sent me the digi 'Three Ties' as a reward for playing in their challenge at the Hambo Hoedown last week.  They send out a freebie every week!
Its almost too good to be true.

Their challenge this week was to use one of the of ties and the sketch they provided.
I paper pieced the tie. You'd be hard pressed to find an easier image to cut out and paper piece!

The background paper is plain cardstock with a technique called Acrylic Emboss applied to it.  I got that technique from the Technique Junkies Newsletter.

It basically involves acrylic paint, embossing and distress inks.  I like the rugged look to this piece and thought it would be excellent for a man's card.

I used Distress inks on all of the edges to distress them.  I stamped a wood grain stamp to the circle the sentiment is backed with to give it some 'texture'.

So, at this point I will enter it in a bunch of challenges:
Hambo Hoedown - use digi provided and sketch
Wags n Whiskers - one for the boys
Bearly-Mine - anything goes
Clear it Out - let the paper piecing begin
Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Sat . - Father's Day
Mark's Finest Papers - Father's Day
Clearly iStamp  - distressing
Stamp Something - something punched
Paper Play -  Father's Day
Digi Doodle Shop's Best - no backing papers
Crafts and Me - stamp something
Whimsie Doodles - Father's Day
Creative Inspirations - card for Dad
The Stamping Boutique - Men only
The Cheerful Stamp Pad - a special reason
Craft your Passion - anything goes
Paper Sundaes - let's get sentimental
Disclaimer - I make all attempts to adhere to the rules of your challenge.  If I have accidentally broken one of your rules, I apologize, as it was not intentional.

Thanks for popping in!
