Uniko Studios and Sketch Saturday

Hoi all, just popping by with a card I have made for the Uniko Studios Feb challenge, I've left it a bit late with just one day to go, but I was feeling inspired by the challenge colours. I then took some inspiration for the layout by using this week's Sketch Saturday sketch.

I have used English Country Garden butterflies for my card - I stamped the large detailed butterfly ib clear versamark onto some watercolour paper, and clear embossed. I then added Turquoise Brusho crystals to the top of the wings and Rose Red Brusho crystals (the nearest I have in Brusho to Pink) to the bottom wings.

I then cut a pink frame, and white circle for the butterfly to sit on.

Then using the small detailed butterfly from this set, I stamped the butterflies onto some white card in memento Angel Pink and MFT Sno Cone.

I then cut this to size, and backed with some aqua bazzill card, and wrapped some aqua twine around the bottom. Finally I added a pink gem for a little sparkle, and some pink pearls to the centre of the butterfly.

Colours of The Wind

Hi all, just a quickie from me today, I made this a little while ago using Brushos and some Visible image stamps. Apart from the drying time for the Brusho background, this was a very quick card to make.

I gold embossed the leaf and sentiment, and then highlighted around them to make them pop a little bit.

I sent this to a crafty friend for a swap, now I know she has it I can post it!

I would like to enter this into:

That's Crafty and Mixed Media

Hi all, I'm here today to share a mixed media card I made for a couple of challenges. I'm just getting into mixed media, I have some paints, misters and texture paste, so I will be experimenting with them over the coming weeks.

For this card, I created the background using Brusho paint crystals, by sprinkling two colours (purple and Terracotta) lightly onto some watercolour card, and spraying with some water. You only need a small amount of these paints to make a splash, literally just a few grains, and the water does the work!

I let it dry, then cut a panel to size for my card base. I stamped the circles and smaller butterflies using a Prima Finnabair stamp set called Don't Forget to Fly, and embossed with black powder. Then taking an off cut I stamped the large butterfly and sentiments again black embossing.

I added some glittery texture paste by Phill Martin using a Clarity Stamps stencil, called Jo's Bubbles,  and left to dry.

While the paste dried, I mounted the sentiments onto some lilac card, and cut around in a random fashion, I have tried this before and I like the look.

After drying, I attached the butterfly and sentiments using some foam pads.

Less is More - One Layer - Stem

Hi all, I am here today with a card made for this week's Less is More challenge - one layer CAS design to include a Stem. It gave me the chance to use these fab Jofy stamps I bought last year, but had not got round to using. The floral stem is from Jofy 32 and the butterfly from Jofy 11.

I stamped the stem and butterfly directly to the card base, and coloured with Staedtler Ergosoft colour pencils.

I added some gems to the butterfly and flower centres, then sponged around the edges with some Milled Lavender distress ink. The sentiment is also from Jofy 32.

Designs by Ryn

Hi all, I'm just popping by to share a card I made for my husband's grandfather, who is 94 today! I needed to make something bright and bold for him, so I chose these lovely swirls from Designs by Ryn, on a Brusho background.

Apologies for the poor quality photo, but the light had gone by the time I had finished, and sent it on it's way to him.

I am entering this in to Designs by Ryn February Customer Creation Challenge.

Brushos and Mixed Media...

Hi all, I'm here today sharing a mixed media style card, which for me is fairly new. I really like how this card turned out, and the mixed media style seems to be anything can go anywhere!

I made a brusho background with green and yellow (I think), and sprayed with  Tattered Angels Dazzling Diamonds, then sponged some Rusty Hinge Distress Ink through a Tim Holtz hessian style mask randomly. I then cut the piece out to size where I liked the pattern more, and stamped the birds from Visible Image stamps.

I stamped the sentiment, also from Visible Image onto a little off-cut, and added some fussy cut birds.

Onto the main panel, I used some sparkling grunge paste in Champagne through a Tim Holtz harlequin mask, in a random pattern, and left to dry. Before drying completely, I sprinkled some gold glamour dust onto the diamond shapes.

I really enjoyed dipping my toes (or rather my fingers!) into the world of Mixed media! This card is winging it's way to a male friend in Denmark!

Pauline.
