DYSU 100 - Thanks

Good morning All, it's a new challenge over at DYSU today, and this week we would like to see you incorporate the message of Thanks or Gratitude on your creations!

I have used a lovely image from one of our generous sponsors, Little Claire's, from their set 'Butterfly Tree'.

I have coloured the butterfly image using Promarkers, and using the colours in the checked patterned paper I used as the background.  I created a panel of some green Bazzill, and layered together with some of the checked paper after edging with the Tonic punch system.

I covered the image with some Little Claire's Glitter Film, and cut with a nestie. It gives a lovely glittery sheen, and has a slight holographic tint to it, so pretty!

The sentiment and little label are by Waltzingmouse Stamps, Opera Tags. I added a little green gem to the end of the tag for a little more sparkle!

I then layered this onto the card base after wrapping some cream lace and green waffle style ribbon around the side, and added a little bow and pale paper rose.

Casadia!

Hi all, I have a second post for today! A little while ago, I came across Wida Miller's blog through my blog buddy Meredith MacRitchie's blog. Wida has started a little Case challenge - starting off with one card of inspiration, then taking it from there. The idea is to see how far we can go with this fun idea!

The interesting thing is that the card I have produced today bears little or no resemblance to the original card! So following through the other participant's creations, you can see how this design has evolved from one thing to another!

You can read all about it here at Beachorado, and if you feel inspired, maybe you'd like to join the fun too?

This is the card that started the ball rolling, this stunner from Laura Bassen:

..which led to this striking beauty by Dana Nelson:

..which led to my festive themed card using the colours from this week's CR84FN colour challenge of Burgundy, Grey and Cream:

I used the same focal point and sentiment position along with the lace and velvet ric rac trim as on Dana's card, but the image worked better on a landscape card for me.

I silver embossed the pine branch from Waltzingmouse Stamps Festive Foliage set onto some Sahara Sand card, and cut out. I then distressed the edges with some Pumice Stone distress Ink.

I then stamped the knitted pattern from WMS Nordic Winter in London Fog and Cherry Cobbler inks, and the sentiment is also WMS from the Compliments of The Season 2 set.

I added some cream lace and Red velvet Ric Rac from The Ribbon Reel, and added 3 metal brads.

I do hope you feel inspired to hop over to Beachorado and have a look at the progression of this design, and maybe you will fancy joining in too!

Thanks for stopping by,

Pauline

CR84FN 68

Good morning all, the rush is on now for Christmas, and I'm still behind in getting my cards made!
This week for our new colour challenge at CR84FN, we have a festive combination of Burgundy, Grey and Cream. Perfect!

Here's the wonderful graphic, using photos by Kate Macpherson, created by Mona's husband Scott - every fortnight we get these beautiful new graphics to inspire us, complete with the wonderful quotes. Thank you Scott!

I have used the fabulous Ornament stamp from Serendipity Stamps, stamped with cherry Cobbler ink onto some Very Vanilla card.

I embossed some Sahara Sand card with the Square lattice embossing folder, and wrapped some pretty cream lace and burgundy grosgrain ribbon around the base. Finally I added some silver jingle bells and some natural button twine.

I couldn't resist adding a little sparkly gem to the middle.

Do stop by the rest of the design team, thanks for stopping by,

Serendipity Stamps - One Layer

Hi all, I have a couple of cards to share for this fortnight's Serendipity Stamps Blog hop. The Theme is One layer with ink.

I have made two cards, one with wet embossing, and one with a dry embossing technique with a die.

For my first card I used the stamp Midnight Clear, and used Versamark Dazzle ink, and clear embossed. There is a slight sheen to this ink, under the light, so very reminiscent of a frosty night.

The sentiment 'Merry Christmas' is stamped in Brilliance silver, and clear embossed.

My next card has been dry embossed with the Ornament Bauble die, then traced around the pattern with my glue stick and glittered with some glamour dust.

I added a little Peppermint baker's twine bow and silver jingle bells. The sentiment 'Tis The Season' is stamped in Memento Rhubarb Stalk.

The sale of the week at serendipity Stamps is for 20% off all the stamps in the Thanksgiving category - sale ends November 28!

CR84FN #67 Wk 2

Hi all, it's the second week of our colour challenge over at CR84FN, with the regal combination of Plum, Gold and Tan. Yum!

I saw this beautiful Purple flocked wrapping paper in a stationers called Paperchase, I had to have it! I want it on my wall lol!

The paper is so gorgeous, I let it do all the work, and kept embellishments to a minimum.

The damask design had purple flocking, and gold embossed detailing, so rich and beautiful!

I layered a cut piece onto some tan card and gold mirri card, and wrapped some gold satin ribbon and plum twine around it, topped with a gorgeous plum rose topped with some gold stickles from my friend and CR84FN teamie Sue.

I finished off with a couple of Tiny Tags stamped in Colorbox Frosted Plum and gold gems.

Do stop by the CR84FN blog, and see the rest of the beautiful creations from the Design Team!

I have used 'Monster Mash' from The Alley Way Stamps, these are super fun images, and perfect for a couple of cards for two little boy's birthdays I have coming up!

I have used an array of different coloured Baker's Twine, buttons, and the fluffy monster image from the set, stamped onto some rainbow grid paper.

CR84FN #67

Good morning all! It's time for another new challenge at CR84FN, and this week we have one of my favourite combinations - Plum, Gold and Tan!  Oooh, lovely! I had this beautiful Saturated Canary image already coloured, and I was just waiting to use her for something special! Isn't she just gorgeous?!

I coloured her with Promarkers, and cut using a Nestabilities Labels 18 die. I then stitched around the edge some purple patterned paper from Wild Rose Studios Bella stack onto some purple Bazzill Bling, and layered on top some gold glittered mulberry paper from my stash. I then edged this with some beautiful Dovecraft cream lace and Plum Pleated Ribbon from The Ribbon Reel.

I then cut some pretty decorative corners using Cheery Lynn Lace Corner Deco B die in plum Bazzill Bling. I layered them all together, and cut a Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish in kraft card, and layered underneath a plum paper bloom and some pearly pins.

Finally I added some gold Stickles to the bloom, flourish and the decorative corners and mounted onto a kraft card base.

Today at CR84FN we are welcoming the new Designers to our team! Please give a warm welcome to these talented ladies, I'm so thrilled to be sharing a D.T. experience with such talented crafters!

WMSC #123

Happy Saturday all! I'm here this morning with a card for this week's new Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge. I was thrilled to find that I was a Top Mouse for my entry last week, so thank you ladies so much!

Here's the fun sketch, and I chose to make a Christmas card again! I'm so behind with them, so I better get a move on!

I have used a card base of Crumb Cake, and stamped the wonderful Very Vintage Background in Versamark and Gold embossed - it's gorgeous!

I then made a mat from some Poppy parade, and distressed with inks and my Tim Holtz distressing tool. Then onto a smaller mat of the red card, I stamped some script from Text It, overlayed by some scrolls from Season's of Love.

I then stamped and gold embossed the tag frame from Very Vintage Christmas and cut out, removing the oval from the middle. Again, I inked around the edges of the tag in Pumice Stone Distress Ink. I then added a little Opera Tag, stamped with a sentiment from Candy Jar Fillers.

Finally, I added some beautiful Gold satin ribbon and some Button Twine from The Ribbon Reel, over some gorgeous ruffled lace that was a gift from my friend Helen.

I added some little blossoms, and some buttons, for a bit of extra interest.

House work is calling my name, thanks for stopping by,

Pauline

DYSU #97 - Trees & Leaves

Hi all, I have a card today for the new challenge over at DYSU, the theme this week is Leaves and Trees.

As a memeber of the D.T we were given a choice of some wonderful images to play with from our generous sponsors, and I chose 'Magda & Sparkles' from Tiddlyinks. With this image comes a FREE backing paper, featuring some gorgeous pink and purple trees!

I coloured the image using Promarkers and Flexmarkers, choosing colours to match the lovely backing paper.

I then very carefully trimmed around this sweet image, and attached to the lovely scene.

I cut two blossoms and some leaves from a new Spellbinders die set, Floral Tags, and the little sentiment tag from the same set, the sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps.

I attached the scene to a piece of Rich Razzleberry card with some patterned Washi Tape, then layered this onto some silver mirri card. Then I layered this onto a Wisteria Wonder card base, and finally added some lilac and purple pearls and a pink velvet bow, with ribbon from The Ribbon Reel.

Here are our generous sponsors this week:
* $12 Gift Certificate

*Winner's Choice of 3 Digital Images

* Winner's Choice of 5 Digital Images
