CR84FN 21

Hi all, I have a card today for CR84FN and this week the colours are STRONG lol! I won't lie to you, but I really found this a toughie! It was one of those walk away and come back to it the next day type 0f creations!

However, I am now pleasantly surprised by this, and I actually quite like now!

So here are the colours this week, so way out of my comfort zone lol!

And here's my take:

I have made a rolled ribbon flower, my very first one - and they are so easy I couldn't believe it!
My daughter made one too in pink, they really look fab!

I have layered the ribbon flower onto some garnet card cut using a Nellie Snellen die, and threaded some green chiffon through the cut out edges. Then around the edges I have swiped some of that lovely Opal Dust made by Jo Sonjas, cut out a couple of butterflies and coated them with it too.

In the centre of the ribbon I have used two layered buttons topped with a grey pearl.

I have pearl embossed the paisley on the green card using a Papermania stamp, and layered cream and garnet card to the bottom, scalloped with a Martha Stewart punch.

Added some ribbon to the middle and some gems to the bottom for some bling.

Finally went around all the edges of the panel with Versamagic Sage and Spanish Olive, and mounted onto cream card.

The sentiment is Waltzingmouse Stamps, and the little leaf is from the Papermania stamp set, think it's called Hampstead heath or something!

So on a totally different note, this is the sky this morning from my dining room window with some super airplane trails!

I think it's going to be a beautiful day!

A Card for a Few Challenges

Hi lovely people, I have a card today for a few challenges. The sun is actually shining today yippee, and I'm feeling springy lol!

Following on from yesterday's banneriffic creation, over at Sketch Saturday, the sketch appears to have banners, or long triangular things anyway!

Here's the sketch:

And here's my take:

I have used a Penny Black image that I treated myself to a while back, and have not managed to use him yet, until today. He is coloured with Promarkers, and layered up onto some patterned paper, cream Core'dinations embossed with the swirls folder and sanded, and some pale green Martha Stewart card.

I have added some plum tops to the banners and edged them with a MS punch. The little sentiment banner at the top was cut using a punch, but the large ones I measured and cut by hand.

I added some buttons to the sentiment (from Waltzingmouse Stamps Teeny Trees) and added a piece of ribbon that I had cut from inside the shoulders of a top and coloured it with an Amethyst Promarker, (this is my re-cycled part).

I am entering this into the following challenges:

Hope you're all getting some sunshine and thanks for stopping by,

WMSC #40, Totally Gorjuss, Crafts and Me, Stamp Something

Hi again lovely peeps, this is my second post today, following on from Music Saves my Soul Saturday - it's very addictive - I'm looking forward to checking out music from around the world on a Saturday morning now, and there's a few artist's I've never heard of before.

Today I'm feeling Bannerific!! The WMSC sketch this week is below, and as you will see, I have taken a bit of a liberty with the sketch - it's a BIG BANNER sketch, but alas, I unfortunately don't have any of the new stamps by WMS or the Spellbinders dies yet...

So, with this in mind, I stamped my banner stamp onto 5 different papers by Wild Rose Studio ( I can't stop using them they are lush!) and cut out all the little banners - yep, 25 itty bitty banners! I thought LOTS of banners may make up for it not being a huge big one lol!

We have had lovely spring weather for the last couple of days, it makes me feel like hanging out the bunting!

Ta-Dah!!

I love this Hero Arts Stamp, I've had it for a month or so, but hadn't got round to using it yet.

I have stamped the banners again onto white cardstock, and attached the banners, leaving the ends unstuck so's i could curl them slightly.

The sentiment is of course from Waltzingmouse Stamps Spring Baskets, stamped in Dusty Concorde Distress Ink.

Finally added some stickles for some shiny goodness, and adhered to a plum base of Core'dinations, then mounted onto a white linen card base.

I am entering this into the following challenges:

Totally Gorjuss

I hope this is ok for the WMSC, and thanks for stopping by,

PDCC #74, WMSC #39, One Stop Craft challenge, Top Tip Tuesday

Hi lovely peeps, I have a card today for a few challenges. I've been meaning to make my entry for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge since the weekend, but time just ran away with me, and then when I saw the colour inspiration over at The Play Date Cafe, I ran, I say RAN to my ribbon box to rustle up my card! However, it took me a lot longer than anticipated, it's a simple card in theory, but choosing which ribbon to use was a toughie!

So here is the fabulous colour inspiration pic, this week provided by Ruby McGuire from Ruby Two Shoes:

They make me want to emigrate to a French gite, and sip red wine with a fresh baguette!

And here is the sketch inspiration from Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge - this makes me want to hang out the bunting! Royal Wedding Fever is taking hold of normally sane folks - Kate Middleton is a local girl, and I quite often see the paparazzi camped outside her parents house as I take my daughter to her riding lesson, not to mention the mini coaches of tourists going through, there's nothing to see really, it makes me laugh! - but thankfully I am decamping to my in-laws in Southampton on the Wedding Day - the men don't want to watch the ceremony, so myself and MiL will watch and raise a glass, while the men and (possibly kids!) go off for a walk in the forest.

And here is my take:

I have used different coloured ribbons in blue purple and lilac, and cut them to different lenths, attached them to a length of blue floss and decorated with an assortment of velvet ribbon, pearls, buttons and gems.

The panel is edged in Dusty Concorde Distress ink.

The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps Fancy Phrases set, a fabulous and versatile set that I use a lot.

I love this card, it's so bright and fun, and the sentiment is suitable for a lot of things.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

A card for a few Challenges..

Hi all, today I have another card for Mother's Day, or just for Mum in general! I just love the colour palette provided by one of my favourites challenges CR84FN, and this is my 3rd card for this challenge!1 And I still have more ideas for these colours!

The sketch is from Quirky Crafts Challenges - I've had this site bookmarked for weeks, and somehow never got round to taking part, until today!

So here are the sketch and colour inspiration:

And here is my take, I have laid the sketch on it's side, and flipped the smaller panel so it's a mirror image of the sketch, if that makes any sense?!

You may recognise this little sweetheart from my previous post, I just had such fun colouring her in, I had another go. She is coloured with Promarkers and cut using my nestabilitis Labels 2.

I have layered her onto some lilac bazzill, and then layered this onto some lilac lace crochet trim, and some butterfly paper from my new paper stack by Wild Rose Studios called butterfly Gardens.

The sentiment is from two different Waltzingmouse sets - Earthangel and Roses in Bloom, and the dotty oval frame is also by WMS and comes from the Fancy Phrases set.

The little bloom is cut using purple felt and my nestabilities Blossoms set, and I attached a lilac button and purple twine to it.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Flutterby Wednesdays

Crafty Catz Challenge

Penny black Challenge

Quirky Crafts Challenge

CR84FN Challenge

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day

Mojo Monday #183, CR84FN 20, Papertake Weekly, Penny Black, Crafty Catz

Hi all, I have a card today for a few challenges. The inspiration is from the gorgeous CR84FN colours rhis week, and the Mojo Monday Sketch challenge. I have used an image that I bought last year and have never used, she is a little sweetie, from Penny Black.

So here are the inspiration pics:

And here is my take:

This image has been coloured with Promarkers, and although her dress has a bluey tint in the photo here, she was coloured with four different green markers.

The backing paper is from a new stack by Wild Rose Studios, called Butterfly Gardens.

The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps Roses in Bloom set, and the little frame is from WMS Afternoon tea set.

The ribbon and crochet lace is from my stash.

I cut her out using nestabilities Labels 5, and cut a smaller one in lilac Bazzill and embossed this with a script Cuttlebug folder. Then went over the top with some Versamagic Purple Hydrangea.

Layered all together onto some purple Core'dinations card, and mounted onto a cream card base.

Finally added some glittery green and purple butterflies, some gems and added a little lilac bow.

I am entering this into the following challenges:

CR84FN 20, SOS 3, One Stop Craft Challenge, Crafty Ca,tz, Papertake Weekly, Paperplay Challenges, Paper Sundaes

Hi all, today I have a card for the CR84FN 20 challenge, and I followed the sketch provided by Ruth at Just Some Stuff I made. I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

One Stop Craft Challenge

Craft Catz Weekly challenge

Papertake Weekly Challenge

Paperplay Challenges

Paper Sundaes

Craft Your Days Away

So here are the colour inspiration graphic and sketch by Ruth:

What beautiful Spring Colours!

And here is my combination:

I've used a new stamp from Wild Rose Studio, called Mia from their new Cherry Cupcake range.

She has been coloured with Promarkers and layered onto a panel of Core'dinations which has been embossed with a damask folder from Crafts Too.

The papers are also from Wild Rose Studio, the green strip edged with a Martha Stewart punch.
The little tag is from Waltzingmouse Stamps Afternoon Tea, and the sentiment from Roses in Bloom, also by WMS.

I had originally coloured the flowers in yellow and orange, a bit like nasturtiums, but it clashed with the plum and the green, so I cut a couple of flowers from the same paper stack and layered them up, and it does look better. Topped the flower off with stickles.

I used some ribbon from stash, and tied 3 knots in as it looked a bit wishy washy when layered up on the strong coloured card, funny how tying a few knots made all the difference!

Added some green Kars dewdrops to the corners and cut a butterfly in a slightly paler green paper added some gems, and layered all together.

Inside I have stamped the greeting in Versamagic Purple Hydrangea.

I am really pleased with how this turned out, as it took me HOURS! I ended up using totally different papers than planned - I had cut loads of different label shapes for her to sit on, and none of them looked righ - then I saw the sketch by Ruth, and I started again! I still feel that i need more practice with colouring especially skin and hair, but I'm getting there!

Music Saves My Soul Saturday on a Sunday - Dizzee Rascal - Dirtee Disco

Hi all, I meant to post this yesterday for the Music Saves My soul over at Marcea's Crafting Corner, but I was out most of the day with my girls at a Dancing Medal Test, so didn't get the chance.

Anyhoo, here's a fun song that does make me want to prance about the living room or kitchen, it's by Dizzee Rascal, a UK rapper who samples the most amazing tunes and produces a fun song or two. The video is hilarious, and well worth watching to the end.

The hall they filmed this in looks just like our local Parish Hall in Thatcham lol! I think there's one of these in every little corner of England.

Anyway, enjoy, and I dare you not to bop about, or have a chuckle!

Less is More, Aud Sentiments, Paper Sundaes

Hi all, I have a CAS card today for the Less is more challenge, Aud Sentiments challenge blog and Paper sundaes challenge blog.

Less is More wanted a masculine themed card, which, quite frankly, left me quaking in my boots! Sorry, but I find it very hard to do men's cards, as from personal experience, they either don't care or prefer a humorous or rude card lol!

Anyhow, I made a get well card in what I think are masculine colours. I didn't want to use black or brown, as many people have already done that, so hopefully this will fit the bill.

I have used a Martha Stewart punch on some new paper I bought last week when I treated myself - it's from a new paper stack by Wild Rose Studio called Cherry Cupcake. I love their papers and I have most of their paper stack and a number of their stamps, but I don't get round to using them as much as I should! Layered this zig zag strip onto another piece cut using some rich plum Core'dinations card.

The sentiment is by Waltzingmouse Stamps Asian Gardens set in Memento Grape Jelly.

I felt it looked a little bare, so I added some candy dots in co-ordinating colours by Craftwork Cards.

This version is my personal favourite, what do you think?

Thanks for stopping by,

CR84FN, One Stop Craft Challenge

Hi all, I have another card!! I just love the colours from CR84FN this week, and my mojo is running on auto at the moment, so I am striking while the iron is hot lol! I'm also entering this into the One Stop Craft Challenge, which wants Clean and simple.

Here's the colour inspiration:

And here is my CAS take:

Using another small 10x10 pearlised card, I stamped the feather image by Inkadinkado in Memento London fog, and spritzed with Tattered Angels Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist.

Added some turquoise gems, and stamped the sentiment in Encore Brilliance Metallic Blue.

I'm going to add it to my box of donation cards for the hospital, I don't have many Get Well cards, and I have a feeling they may sell well there!

Thanks for stopping by,

Pauline xx

CR84FN 19, Less is More, Simply Create

Hi all, I have a little 10x10 card today, I was sorting through my stash, and found a lot of card blanks unused and unloved! So I set to inspired by the wonderful colour palette from CR84FN and the Less is More challenge, which I have been meaning to get round to all week, but never quite got there, Simply Create challenge which wants a monochromatic scheme, and One Stop Craft Challenge, which wants Clean and simple.

Here is the colour inspiration:

And here is my CAS card.

I have used a white linen card base, and stamped the beautifully decorative frame from Waltzingmouse Stamps Very Vintage Labels No. 3 in Versamagic Turquoise Gem and Night Sky, taking it over the back of the card, and off the edge, which is the requirement for this weeks LIM challenge.

The sentiment and side flourishes are from WMS Afternoon Tea Sentiments set, stamped in Encore Metallic Silver. Apologies for the rather dull pictures, the light is awful today, no sun just heavy grey cloud and rain :-(

Inside I stamped the sentiment from WMS Sweethearts set, and the flourishes as above. Finished off the front with 4 turquoise gems, I just couldn't help myself! That frame is crying out for gems pearls and colouring!!

It's Red Nose Day here in the UK, which is a 'do something funny for money' day for charity - so all the children at our school have gone in their pyjamas, and it's raining! Then when school finishes, there's a big cake sale, where all us lovely mums have slaved over baking tins to donate cakes, so we can give the children money to buy them back again! Well, it's for charity!

And I have decided to donate all the cards I have made in my stash to our local community hospital's League of Friends, so they can sell and keep any money made for the hospital and League funds. So, feeling quite charitable now, which in turn makes me thirsty so I'm off to have a cuppa.

Thanks for stopping by,

Pauline xx
