CAS Card for a few Challenges!

Hi bloggers, I have a card today made for a few challenges, and this time it's not the Waltzingmouse one!

Whilst blog hopping around last night, I came across a couple of inspiring challenges, the first one being The Play Date Cafe 40 which wants a project to use black and white with a hint of green; then there's the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger, which is a lovely lantern photo to use as inspiration.

So below are the two challenge pictures:

Moxi Fab World Tuesday Trigger

And here is what I came up with ;

I have used a white linen bazzill card base, and Waltzingmouse Stamps Asian Gardens and Asian Additions.

I stamped and embossed the cane border in Tuxedo Black and clear embossing powder straight onto the card.

Then randomly stamped the clouds in the same ink.

Using the two lantern images from Asian Gardens Additions I stamped and embossed onto some paper from My Minds Eye Quite Contrary pack. Don't know what I did wrong but I was an inky mess when I finished, as the embossing didn't seem to work too well - so not sure if it was the wrong ink, the powder or my heat gun, but either way, it didn't work too well. I will have to experiment!

Stamped one of the lanterns and the sentiment inside, WITHOUT embossing them!

Then added some gems to the clouds and on the tassels of the lanterns, and some black twine to connect the lanterns.

I love how this card turned out, but I was a bit disappointed by my embossing fiasco, I'm still covered in ink!

Earthangel for a few Challenges!

Hi bloggers, I'm back again with another Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge inspired card. I loved this sketch so much, I wanted to do it again!

So here is the sketch as I didn't have time to post it before:
And here is my take:

I have used bg papers by My Minds Eye called Quite Contrary, and some pink bazzill. I used Labels 1 stamp set from WMS in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut a label in pink bazzill, then coloured it with a couple of darker shades of pink promarkers.

I then stamped and paper pieced the angel and her wings and stamped the little stars from the set onto the label in Memento Rich Cocoa.

Adhered the angel to the label, and fancied adding a bit of bling - I found that the tiny stars in the Papermania gem packs are the PERFECT FIT into the hollow star (or is it a tiny flower?) anyhow, it fits like a dream!

I coloured her face and added shading with my promarkers.

Then stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black onto 3 different coloured papers, and then broke my stamp :-( It's now in 3 bits.

I distressed all around the edges in Versamagic Sage chalk ink and Pink Petunia.

I couldn't resist adding some green gems to the corners as a final gesture!

I am entering this card into a few challenges:

WMSC #7

Ed to add: Spot the undeliberate mistake - pointed out by my 10 yr old daughter - "Mummy, the thing is, the words on that panel are the wrong way up!" My reply "Thank you darling!". Oh well, I'm hoping the recipient won't notice!! Oh, and a fab time was had by all, can thoroughly recommend a trip to @Bristol if you are a South West UK redident!!

Hi fellow waltzers, have a quick post today as we are off out in a min to @Bristol, in Bristol!

Have used Say it With Style for the sentiment, Roses in Bloom for the rose and background stamping and Vintage Labels 3 to mount the rose on.

Inks used are Tuxedo Black, and Versamagic Sea Breeze. Papers are from an unknown stack and Wisteria Lane by Basic Grey.

The rose is coloured using promarkers and added some stickles for some shimmer.

Have added some candy dots from Craftwork Cards on the banner, and not a rhinestone in sight!!

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer hols,

WMSC #6

Hello Friends! Yesss, I made it for the Waltzingmouse Challenge! Phew, 2 posts in one day, I'll need a lie-down after such exertion!

Here's the sketch:

And here's my take:

Used pearlescent lilac card for the base, cut the curve from the sketch on the front of the card, and just stamped away! It's a very flat card, no foam pads anywhere, just a bit of bling. Ok, maybe a LOT of bling, but I love it too much!

Inks used were Antique Linen distress ink for the cane border stamp, Angel Pink Memento and Rose Bud Dew Drop for the blossoms, Rich Cocoa Memento for the sentiments and branch, and Brilliance Dew Drop in Pearl Ivy for the birds, mixed in with some gold ink that's not showing up very well here!

I did struggle to get a good photo of this card, and the party bags this morning as the weather is terrible, big black clouds and pouring with rain - nothing like a British summer ladies!

Well I must go and do some housework before school pick up lol!

Party Bags a la Waltzingmouse & Waitrose!!

Hi bloggers, have a little priject to share today, and it's not a card! My daughter is soon to be 8 years old, (where does the time go?) and her party is tomorrow. I have wanted to personalise party bags before, but never had the confidence. So armed with my lovely Waltzingmouse stamps, I set to.

Whilst grocery shopping in Waitrose I came across these gorgeous party bags (8 for £4, shhh don't tell my hubby!). They are great quality, thick paper and lined inside for any cakes that may get popped inside!

So taking my colour cue from the bags, cut some labels in blue and yellow colour core'dinations, and stamped the leaf motif from Faux Fun Circles around the edge of the blue labels in Brilliance Dew Drop Sky Blue, which has a lovely metallic sheen.

Then using Very Vintage Labels 4, stamped the yellow labels in Antique Linen distress ink.

Wrote all the names on the yellow labels (15 in all!) and assembled using foam dots.

I made the bows using some taffeta ribbon from John Lewis and my new Bow Easy, which I didn't find easy at first, but feel I have the hang of it now after about 20 tries! For the two boys in the party, I have used buttons and gems to decorate their bags.

I am going to enter this into the Creatalicious Challenge, which is for anything 3D, and Crafty Catz challenge, which is Anything but a Card.

Have just seen the new web-store design for Waltzingmouse Stamps, it looks fab! Going back now to have another look.

Hopefully I will have time today to enter the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge, it ends later today, now where's my mojo?!

Thanks for looking and have a great day

WMSC #5

Hi fellow waltzers, today I have another card for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #5.

Here is the sketch:

And Here is my take:

Made using Waltzingmouse Stamps Victorian Frippery set, I set myself the challenge of using a colour scheme I wouldn't normally use. I do tend to veer towards the paler end of the spectrum, blues and greens and pearlescent card, but today I wanted to try something different! Glad that I did!

So, using the Victorian Frippery set, I stamped and embossed the circle and border in black embossing powder, and cut the circle using Nestabilities Circles Sml, and hand cut the border.

Using the Nestabilities Blossom dies, cut the pink flower out of some pink tissue paper that came from jewellery wrapping. I think it was 5 layers per size, and cut the smallest 3 blossoms in the set. Scrunched them up and popped a lime green brad through the middle.

Mounted the embossed lace strip onto a piece of card punched with a Martha Stewart punch, then added some black silk ribbon to the top.

Stamped and embossed the little medallion from this set and cut in half, and the added the sentiment 'Merci', then mounted to the lace strip.

Using Labels 3, cut a piece if black Bazzill to mount the flower onto, and adhered all to a white dry embossed panel from Doodlebug. Mounted this onto some more black Bazzill, and adhere to the front of my card.

Added some lime green rhinestones, and stamped the sentiment inside.

So glad I stepped out of my comfort zone!!!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Fussy and Fancy Wedding Card!

Hi all, today I have a card made for a friend's wedding. Really have missed the sketch challenge this week from Waltzingmouse Stamps, so hopefully there will be one this week!

I have used the flourish scroll from Seasons of Love from Waltzingmouse Stamps, and repeatedly stamped it in Memento London Fog onto some cream and pale blue pearlescent cardstock.

I then cut a frame from some silver mirri card using Nestabilities Small scalloped circles, punched a load of different sized flowers and assembled them to make a wreath. Using my new Stampin' Up punch made two lovebirds, and assembled on the card using some glitter card and grey ribbon behind the birds.

Then using Nestabilities Fancy Tags, made the sentiment using WMS Fancy Phrases, and added some bling.

Added a variety of pearls and bling to the wreath and mounted onto a mirri panel.

I am entering this card into a few challenges:

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!
