File Folder Mini

My online scrap buddy Jean (the Musical Scrapper) made this mini at a recent retreat.  I didn't get to go on the retreat, but she did a video on her USTREAM show.  A letter size file folder was used for this project.  This was fun.  Thanks Jean!

In the tutorial Jean puts a gusset on the flap so that it closes smoothly.

I added a gusset to the sides and bottom of this packet so it would hold more stuff.  This is the ideal size for 4 x 6 photos.

Box/holder

An Easter basket? A craft supply holder?  A desk top catch all?  I made this little box at a recent crop.  I plan to use it as a place setting at one of my home fellowships. I think filled with goodies to coordinate with the party theme will be kind of cute.  Now to remember how to make it!  LOL

Friday

30 minute challenge

This was the challenge:
Create a bookmark that must include:
a) Cardstock
b) Three patterned papers

Here is what I came up with :

This is a corner bookmark.  The third pattern is on the back.  The beads are from my stash and the papers are scraps.

Thursday

TP mini

Here is a TP mini that I made for a fellow online crafter.  He mentioned wanting a Valentine's Day TP roll mini.  I tried to oblige but soon realized that I did not have much Valentine themed embellishments.  I hope he was not too disappointed receiving an incomplete album and was able to further decorate the mini album and make it his own.

I do like the way the tags came out

Monday

Mini file folder tag album

So I had scraps left over from cutting down 12 x 12 file folders to standard size.  I made this tag album which I learned from Inkwell's (Dede) USTREAM show.

each tag it tied with fibers/fabric. The cover is fabric
ribbon binding with beads and shells

closure with elastic and button

each file folder has four pockets and flips out.

Thursday

Gingerbread dough

I got this idea from the ladies at my Thursday scrap group.  It is the ideal gift for the person who has everything.

The poem says:
Gingerbread men with yummy icing
are oh so good and extremely enticing
I set out to make a dozen or two
but ran out of time. oh what do I do

So instead of the cookies I tied a bow
your own personal serving of holiday dough!

I changed a few of the words, but you get the gist of the pun.  This gift was adored by the recipient although he refused to open and use the money.

The gingerbread mad is a cricut cut.  The rest is all scraps.

Wednesday

More gifts

I went crazy making these little candy holders.  I gave them out everywhere...the post office, the town office, the chiropractor, the grocery store--I mean EVERYWHERE!  Boy was that fun just to see people's faces light up with surprise.

Chocolate Candy holder

I made these Ghirdelli chocolate candy holders to give to the attendees of a luncheon I am going to this week.  I hope they like them.

Sunday

Gimme' a kiss!

I decided to do another challenge from the Scraps of Color .ning site.  This time we had to make a wish list.  My Christmas wish list:
  1. To be healthier physically, mentally and spiritually
  2. to have enough money to be a philanthropist (all my craft buddies get craft room makeovers -lol)
  3. to have a kitchen and bathroom ADA makeover
  4. for my dog to stop itching
  5. for my family and friends to live joyfully and PEACEfully
  6. for God to shower protection, wisdom, salvation and blessings upon the children & the families in my circle

The one thing I really want, is a matehusbandlifepartner preferably chocolate, rich and sweet...

I guess these will have to do until the Lord sends me my dream man.   hahahahaha

They are chocolate, rich, and sweet!

These are Hershey's kiss candy holders that I made for my former co-workers.  I hope they like them.

Dance Muse

I am taking an online class called Mining Your Muse, taught by Barb Owen.  I have been watching  her USTREAM  shows for a while now.  I love her voice and there is so much inspiration among the chat and the show.  I have met some great  people and wonderful artists online.  So, on the quest to find my creative mojo-MUSE, if you will, we made a map to go in our muse finding tool box.  The map resulted in this:

Today my muse is a ballet dancer.  My always in pain and heavy body will not permit me to be a dancer, but in my heart I am most graceful and will always be a dancer.  Who cares that I can only get on point in my aqua yoga class- in the pool I AM a ballerina. (lol) So, when life hands you lemons, make lemonade...I am a DRAMATIST...the next best thing to a dancer.  (LOL)  I made this muse along with Barb as she was giving instructions.  I can see all the crooked lines, jagged cuts, wonky body shapes, and glue seepage, but there are no mistakes in parer crafting!  I cannot wait to make another one, or even sew one.  Barb this is a great class, my heart is so full and my spirit is so inspired to just play.  Thanks for the push and the inspiration.

Dugan thinks he is my muse sitting here on the sheet of newsprint paper I put down on my office desk as my work surface. (lol)  He jumps on the desk like a cat.  He was really good during the class (went to sleep on my feet), but as soon as class was over he was anxious to get up on the desk.  Gotta luv 'em.

Purse greeting card holder

Happy Spring!!!
Many folks celebrate spring with a new wardrobe.  I was thinking that you can't have new clothes without  accessories.  So, why not a new purse?  Here is a purse I made.  It holds greeting and note cards.  My friend Helen suggested a card holder for a birthday present for my coworker.  It was really fun to make.  Check out Angie Leach's version of "how to" make this Purse card gift set.

The pen has matching pp inside

This pocket is for postage stamps
