Looking Up and Looking Down ~ in my garden

Short and sweet today.
I'm joining in on a photo meme created by my friend, Helena.
What do you see when you look up, and then down?

Looking Up, Looking Down - In Our Backyard

Today I join in with blog friends from around our planet and link to Helena
for her Looking Up / Looking Down series.

Sitting on our patio, looking up at our sun-faded red umbrella and the tallest eucalyptus tree in the world neighborhood. Gosh, I wish somehow I could capture how tall that thing is! And messy. And shady.

And looking down at a goofy little dog who proves that there's truth behind the phrase "a face only a mother could love." Haha. But what a sweet and happy and funny little dog he is. And a great friend too.

Is it any wonder why we love hanging out in our backyard?
Happy Thursday, everyone!

Looking Up and Looking Down - with Helena

My blog friend, Helena had a fun idea to photograph our view looking up, and then looking down. You may recall that I've posted a few on this here little blog. :o)

Well, while Carrie and I were in London last week, I had the good fortune to meet Helena in person. And while we were, oh, just hanging out at Covent Garden, I snapped these photos with her by my side.

It was so much fun to meet Helena and to actually get Up/Down photos with her.
{She seized the moment too, and had this post to share last week.}

I love the way this universe works.

Look up! Look Down! Look all around...

When we were kids there was this silly little thing we'd say to one another:
Look up.
Look down.
Look all around.
Gee, you're a clown.

And there was also the version that ended with "Look at my thumb, gee you're dumb" but we weren't allowed to use that one. Haha, oh Mother...

Anyway! Today I'm linking up with my sweet friend Helena who came up with a fun idea to photograph something looking up, and then looking down. I was standing in my craft room the other day, camera in hand, when I looked up to the top shelf and snapped a photo. One of my favorite things is this jar of wooden thread spools which is a mixture of spools found in my great-grandmother's sewing machine drawers, and also from my dear mother-in-law's sewing supplies after she left.

And then looking down at a lower shelf,
my collection of sketch books and journals
and, of course, a turtle.

So, look up! Look down! Look all around...

Looking Up / Looking Down

My friend Helena started a fun photo prompt on her blog called Looking Up / Looking Down. I finally remembered to take a couple of photos, and I'm sharing them today.

I was sitting on our living room the other day, trying to get a photo of our cat,
Whiskers Jay. From where I sat I looked up and saw our front entry way. {click}

I stood up in the very same spot and snapped a photo looking down - honest
to goodness, I did not move and the cat came to me. {click}

I loved the way this photo prompt helped me stop and be in the moment.
What do you see when you look up, and then look down.
Anything photo worthy?
