Snow Day is Watercolor Sketch Day

If you have been following me the last week or so you know I have caught the watercolor sketchbook bug thanks to Andrea Gomoll.  Her online class was just what I needed to kick start my watercolor sketching.   Today was a snow day here in the northeast USA.

Thank goodness we got 10 inches and did not get the 30 inches they were predicting.  It did give me time in between shoveling the walkways to do some watercolor sketching.

I still do not have the journaling thing down.  I always feel foolish adding words to my sketches.

Watercolor Sketchbook

Here are some of my sketches from the online class I am taking called Sketch Your Life by Andrea Gomoll.

This is the palette I created for the class using a Tim Holtz Ink Palette.  it is great because the lid works great for color mixing.  I use a water brush to apply the paint.  I am using Arches paper.

Watercolor Birthday Card

I am taking an online class called Lifebook 2015 and Joanne Sharp taught a lesson on lettering. This is copied from several other people's work. I made a few changes and made a birthday card out of it. I can not remember who I copied so I apologize or I would give them credit here. I used Winsor Newton Watercolor pans, Stabilo Markers and Faber Castell black Waterproof Ink pen in Fine. I am enjoying Watercolors. I have a few sketches from my Sketch Your Life class with Andrea Gomoll I will post tomorrow. I have been hesitating adding color but after this card I may take the leap.

Sweet Treats

My sketch from the online watercolor class I am taking by Andrea Gomoll, Sketching Your Life. I am scared to add watercolor as I like it like this.  Hopefully I will be braver in the morning.
