Mushroom mice

Hello lovely people,

I'm sorry to be so tardy in bringing you a Design Team sample from the latest LOTV release but I hope you have been enjoying all the samples so far from the rest of the DT and the Design Collective.

This release is full of gorgeous romantic images like this one...

I am so loving these cute mice!

This is yet another paper pad that I have had for a few months and not used yet, and the shabby chic style and muted tones with just a few pops of pink seemed perfectly romantic to match the image :-)

I love that diamante ribbon slider to add a little sparkle...and hey, they are not just for sliding onto ribbons...twine works too!

Just chillin'

Hello lovely people,

Well, it's been a weekend of 2 halves!
Yesterday was a day out in the Caterham 7, driving across Wales with lots of other Caterhams for fish and chips in Aberdyfi and driving back again!
It was sunny but quite breezy so we had to wrap up warm but it was a great day out :-)
I'll pop some pics at the end if you're interested.

So, today has been a chilling and crafting day...and a computer game playing and football watching day in the case of Dr. Hubby!

It's not often I venture into the realms of male cards but sometimes it has to be done and LOTV do have some fab images to work with...and fab papers too!

Male card featuring LOTV 'lazy afternoon'

I had the urge to leave lots of white space around this image and keep to a few simple layers of DP; well, there's only so much you can add to a male design anyway!

I had pretty much finished the card when I realised I hadn't put the age on it and now I can't imagine that the card would look finished without that little fishtail banner - it fills that corner of the card so perfectly!

OK, I said I would show some pics, so here's a LOT of Caterhams all assembled at the start point; there's more than you can see in this photo too!
Our car is out of shot but that's me in the black jacket standing next to the chap with the red hat on :-)
Here's the only point where we got lost on the route...along with about a dozen other cars...we were all milling around trying to work out where we had gone wrong!

And here's our final destination; the fish and chips were yummy!

If anyone is really interested here's a video clip of us driving across the Brecons - shame you can't really hear the cars, just the wind noise!

I hope you have all had lovely weekends whatever you have been up to :-)

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Pearl anniversary

Hello lovely people,

It's time for a new challenge at Top Tip Tuesday and our theme this time is...

MATERIAL GIRL

So, using some kind of fabric on your card would work for this theme or maybe you can come up with something a bit more out of the box?!

I am afraid I have been a little predictable with my material as I have used a hessian strip; it adds a lovely texture and bit of a rustic feel.
I have made an easel design as this is a 30th wedding anniversary card and I always find it easier to add the text in this way so it doesn't clutter up the main section!

And yes, that's a few of my Copics in the background of the photo because I didn't realise that the angle was going to make them visible even once cropped and I am not going to re-take the shot!  The cotton buds are for cleaning my Copics, which I have only recently realised is VERY important on a regular basis :-)

Ok, sorry, enough waffle and here's the card...

Since a 30th wedding anniversary is traditionally represented by pearls I chose pale ivory coloured DP and scattered a few pearls here and there.  Can you see them all? There are absolutely no prizes for guessing correctly... just pride, and I warn you some of them are very tiny!

This image is so cute for anniversaries, weddings etc. and I think it looks lovely done in really pastel shades.  I added some glamour dust to the bows as a girl's gotta have a little sparkle right?!

Here's a little close up of the beautiful flowers and just some of those pearls!

Card recipe;
Image: Love balloon - LOTV
DP: Shoreline treasures - Pion Design (available from Live and Love Crafts)
Flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts

Hessian / seam binding: The Ribbon Girl

I hope you will pop over to Top Tip Tuesday and check out the fabulous designs from the rest of the team; they have been ever so creative with this theme :-)

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Flower fairy

Hello lovely people,

It's time for a new challenge at In The Pink and our theme this month is...

FLOWER GARDEN

So we want to see all those beautiful floral creations...in PINK of course!

Apologies for the wonkiest photo ever, it was just one of those days!  I have crammed in the flowers though, on the image, the DP and some lovely 3D flowers too :-)
I have had some hessian ribbon for a little while now and decided it was time to use it, and I do love it teamed with the seam binding and twine - both rustic and pretty.

I have just started the skin and hair colouring class at Kit and Clowder and whilst I have a long way to go I feel I have made some improvements already...like the hair on this little lady...what do you reckon?
This is just one of the many gorgeous new fairy stamps at LOTV; I could so have bought them all but had to resist!

Please also go and leave some love for our very special Pink Lady Christine C who is very sadly leaving the Pink Palace this week; you will be much missed Christine.
However, we do have a new Pink Lady as well so please go and give a warm welcome to Stacey, and check out her gorgeous first creation :-)
