Tilda in the garden

Hello lovely people,

Dr. Hubby and I took a little trip to Bath yesterday for my Independent Prescriber graduation ceremony followed by a celebratory meal out.

Here I am receiving my certificate from the course director and yes, it was actually a lovely sunny Summer day so I wore a dress!

Today I am having a crafty play date with my lovely buddies Sue and Debs...yes, again!

While we get stuck into some crafting and chatting, and a cheeky cream tea (yum yum!), it's time for a new challenge at In The Pink

Our theme this time is...

ALL OR NOTHING!
So that's FUSSY AND FANCY
OR
CLEAN AND SIMPLE...your choice!
But don't forget we want to see more pink than any other colour!

Our fabulous sponsor this time is Little Miss Muffet with a $6 voucher

I love both FAF and CAS but I guess I probably lean a bit more towards FAF and I fancied trying my hand at a swing easel for this design.  I really like it...but I am always finding new fancy folds that I like!

I can't even remember the last time I used a Tilda so it was fab to get this one out and give her the pink treatment!

I can only dream of looking this stylish when I'm working in the garden!

Hopefully you can see the swing easel design a little better in this angled shot.

As with any easel design you can't really add too much on the bottom layer but I found plenty of space on the top to add flowers!

If you haven't already done so then do pop over to In The Pink and check out the gorgeous creations from the rest of the Pink Ladies...can you guess who will go FAF and who will go CAS?!

Live, laugh, love

Hello lovely people,

It's time for a new challenge at In The Pink and our theme this time is...

FLY AWAY
(With an option of using pink & 1 other colour)

Our fabulous sponsor this time is Bunny Zoe's Crafts with a £10 voucher

I keep saying I would like to do more home decor projects so decided to decorate a wooden heart.
I cut the DP to fit the heart, inked the edges and then stamped a few swirls around the edge.
Once the DP was glued firmly in place I sanded back the edges to give a slightly distressed finish.

These butterfly dies are absolutely gorgeous and I really haven't used them much but knew they would be perfect for this project...and for the challenge theme of course!

The words are stamped from individual letter stamps, cut into strips, and have one foam pad under the middle to add that little bit of dimension.
The charm was a last minute addition and I'm so glad I popped it on as it looks so pretty :)

Project recipe;
Wooden heart: from Hobbycrafts show
DP: Summer Crush - Maja Design (available from Live and Love Crafts)
Swirl stamp: Summer swirl - Magnolia
Dies: Leavenworth butterfly trio - Memory Box
Charm: Daisy chain - The Hobby House
Twine: Ivory button twine - The Ribbon Girl
Ribbon: from stash
Lettering: magazine freebie stamp set

If you haven't already done so then do pop over to In The Pink and check out the beautiful creations from the rest of the Pink Ladies.

Thanks for visiting and I really appreciate any comments that you leave,

Challenges I am entering;
Papertake Weekly (to die for)
Inky Chicks (hearts)
Fab 'n' Funky (things with wings)
The Ribbon Girl (pink)
ABC challenge (pretty in pink)

Going dotty

Hello lovely people,

I am here with my card for Totally Gorjuss and this week our theme is...
Dotty
So that explains the post title today... you could be forgiven for thinking I was talking about myself - lol!

Our sponsors this week (yes, that's TWO sponsors!) are The Ribbon Girl and Heather's Hobbie Haven - we are totally spoiling you :-)

My card is a super simple one, based on several I have seen in blogland using silhouette shapes with DP behind them.

I cut the butterfly shape with my Cricut and then stamped the sentiment below it... and promptly smudged it :-(  So, I had to re-stamp it on a scrap of card and layer it on top, which I now like the look of, so... happy accidents and all that!

(Hmm, not the best photos as the butterfly looks completely different colours in the 2 photos - oops!)

Card recipe;
DP: little scrap of something with no name on hiding in my stash!
Sentiment: Personal Impressions Big Sentiments stamp set

Sadly this will be my last card with Totally Gorjuss as I am stepping down from the DT to have more time to work on other things and practice my colouring!  I have had an amazing time with all the lovely Gorjussettes so thank you all :-D
If you have enjoyed popping in to see my work for Totally Gorjuss then you can always follow my blog and keep up with my creations ;-)

Thanks for visiting,

Hugs,
Kat xx

Butterflies

Hello lovely people,

I hope as this posts that everything has gone to plan and I am enjoying a weekend with family celebrating my parents' 60th birthdays :-)

It is time for a new challenge at Totally Gorjuss and this week the theme is...
Anything goes
Oh so easy!  We are sponsored by Craft All Day who have a fantastic selection of craft goodies available in their store.

I thought it was only appropriate to share the easel card I made for my Mum's 60th birthday.  I did take a photo from the side but it was rubbish so I just have the one from the front.

This is the first outing for my new butterfly stamp and it is so beautiful!

I cut one of the butterflies out to put on the bottom...it just needed a little something else down there!

Card recipe;
DP: MME Lost & Found - Blush
Fancy edge: Martha Stewart edge punch

Thanks for visiting and I hope you can join in our challenge; go on, it's such an easy one!

Hugs,
Kat xx

A little sunshine

Evening lovely people,

I was intending to post this earlier but I got sidetracked downloading some new software to allow me more options for editing my snaps and adding a watermark.  I was hoping to use it for this post but realised I'm going to need a bit more time to figure out how to do the stuff I want to do, so watch this space...!

The sun may have gone away, temporarily I hope, but I have a sunny little card to share with you :-)  I am also blaming the lack of sun for the slightly shoddy photos and will update them if the sun re-appears!

Yes, I have added another Tiddly Inks image to my collection; they are just such fun to colour :-)  I think you can just about see the little glitter sprinkles on her ice cream...

Ok, I'm going to share one more angled view so you can see the stepper design properly;

1.  Tiddly Inks (summer treats)
2.  A Little Bit Crafty (summer sun)
3.  Cute Card Thursday (anything goes)
4.  As You Like It (favourite fancy fold - stepper card)

I hope that has brought a little sunshine to you and thanks for visiting,

Hugs,

So lovely

Hello lovely people,

I know I am running late with my SC Challenge entry again but I have been on holiday!  When I got home I couldn't resist the chance to play along this week and use 'Lovely' - isn't she just?

I was quite please with the colouring as it was a challenge for me with all those pleats and all that hair!
I added some detail to the DP with some white acrylic paint round the edges, some stitching and some stamped swirls.
Since I kept the layout really simple I had a chance to use my new butterfly dies to add a little finishing touch; I reckon you might be seeing a LOT more of these - they are so cute!
Oh, and there is a little Stardust Stickles on the pale sections of the dress...honestly!

Card recipe;
DP: Maja Design Vintage Spring Basics
Butterflies: Impression Obsession die (available from My Crafty Heart)

Copic colours;
Skin: E0000/000/00
Hair: E42/43/44
Dress: BV0000/000/00/01/02 & RV0000/000/00

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;

2.  As You Like It (fave papers - mine are Maja Design as you may have noticed if you visit my blog regularly!)
3.  Cute Card Thursday (Once upon a time - because I think she looks like a princess!)

Good luck bear

Hello lovely people,

Happy Liliday to everyone!  Yes, it's time for another challenge at Lili's Little Fairies and this week we want to see 'Good Luck' cards.  This might not seem too easy at first but it can be wishing someone luck for anything you like; leaving to have a baby, a new job, a driving test etc.
Or, like me you could make a fairly non-specific good luck card... although I don't think it would work for a bloke!

I have used one of the Posy Trio stamps so I made quite a wee card, just 10x10cm for the base and this is the first time I have done a criss-cross design - I really like the style though so will definitely be doing this again.

The tag inside pulls out and there is space to write a message on it.

The image is coloured with Copics, cut out with a Nestie circle and layered onto a Nestie scalloped circle.  I may have gone a little mad with the pearls but I really love these teeny tiny little ones - just so cute!

Card recipe;
DP: Kaisercraft - Tigerlilly
Scalloped edge: Magnolia DooHickey Die - Tilda Lace
Seam binding: from Wild Orchid Crafts
Pearls: 2mm ivory silk from The Hobby House

Copic colours;
Bear: E41/42/43 &E44 for nose
Flowers: R81/83/85 & G21/YG61

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;
1.  Wild Orchid Crafts (lots of layers)
2.  The Ribbon Girl (add a die cut)
3.  The Hobby House (anything goes)

Don't forget to pop over to Lili's Little Fairies to see what the rest of the DT have created and I hope you can enter our challenge for a chance to win £10 to spend at Crafty Ribbons!

Thanks for visiting,

A CAS thank you

Hello lovely people,

Firstly, welcome along to my new followers; I am so happy you decided to follow my little blog :-)

Now, just a really quick post from me to share this little thank you card.  It made a really nice change from the intensive colouring cards I have done recently.  Not a Copic in sight here!  Just one of my favourite things for CAS cards - butterflies!
I have done a little bit of my usual stitching and used some pretty pearls to embellish the butterflies, which were cut with my Cricut.

Card recipe;
DP: random from stash
Pearls: from The Hobby House
Sentiment: Amy R So Wordy stamp set
Border: Martha Stewart border punch

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges;
1.  As you like it (fave colour combo = pink and green as it is so fresh and pretty)

Thanks for visiting,

Hugs,
Kat xx
